The ring

Upon entering the room, Patrick had two towels: one in his hands, which he used to wipe the water off his face and head, and another knotted around his waist. He glanced across at Phina, sitting on the room's black couch, deep in contemplation while wearing her nightgown.

He noticed she was glancing at the ring on her finger, and the corner of his mouth quirked slightly. He couldn't help but giggle briefly before turning his gaze away from her. When she lifted her hand slightly, the stones on the ring crinkled.

Phina felt a boiling emotion of pride and pleasure as she stared at the ring in her palm. At last, she would tie the knot and become a wife—not just any woman, but Patrick's wife.

The wife of a billionaire.

To her, it still felt like a dream.

She never imagined or anticipated getting a proposal on her birthday. It was a huge surprise and enchanting.
