Chapter Ninety-One: Premeditation

"Is the Emperor getting old and senile? His own son died so mysteriously, yet he still meddles in everything? Shouldn't he find a way to retrieve the Fifth Prince's body as soon as possible?" Yunsi scratched her head, her delicate face full of confusion. She just couldn't understand their mindset.

Watching the fish happily playing in the lake and then observing the busy people, seeing their amiable faces, she couldn't fathom what they were really thinking. How wonderful it would be if everyone could be carefree like the fish!

Yulanxing glanced at Yunsi, who seemed lost in thought, and a faint smile crept onto his lips.

Pouring a cup of tea for Yunsi, Yulanxing spoke, "The difference between people lies in their attitudes towards matters. While you may see this as a matter between a father and his son, for the Emperor, it concerns not only himself but also the entire realm. He cannot let personal matters trouble his subjects."

Yulanxing patiently explained the complexities of the situation to Yunsi, who seemed unfamiliar with worldly affairs. He hadn't expected her to be so deeply concerned about this matter, but her impression of her had changed slightly.

Yulanxing earnestly explained while Yunsi listened attentively. Taking a sip of the tea he offered, Yunsi blinked her watery eyes, occasionally nodding in agreement.

"What about the Fifth Prince's body? Although he is deceased, we must ensure he is laid to rest as soon as possible, allowing him to transition to the next life," Yunsi circled back to the topic.

Yulanxing pondered for a moment. "Hmm, the Celestial Pavilion recruits talented individuals each year to practice immortal arts and serve its purposes. I'm thinking we could use this opportunity to infiltrate the Celestial Pavilion. By doing so, we may uncover who took the Fifth Prince's body."

Yunsi nodded blankly, considering before shaking her head. "If we're investigating anyway, why don't we do it ourselves? Why bother with the trouble of entering the Celestial Pavilion?"

"Why is your mind so single-track?" Yulanxing couldn't help but chuckle. "This matter has far-reaching implications. Without relying on the Celestial Pavilion, there are many clues we won't be able to obtain."

"Ah," Yunsi hummed like a cat, then slumped lazily on the table, pouting cutely. "Isn't this too much trouble? Can't we just knock him out and use harsh interrogation methods? Let's see if he talks then."

Yulanxing couldn't help but laugh. "And you're supposed to be a person of the cloth!"

"Well, yeah, let's go with a gentler approach, or else others might say we're too brutal."

"Great, I'll go tell Master the good news!" Yunsi couldn't contain her excitement and dashed off, eager to share their little plan with Qingwu.

Suddenly stopping her brisk pace, she turned back and asked, "But... who should we send to the Celestial Pavilion? You definitely can't go; the old man would recognize you at a glance. Hmm... do you have anyone with extraordinary martial prowess? Once our person enters, they'll surely have the Celestial Pavilion's old man firmly in their grip."

Yulanxing raised an eyebrow and smiled confidently, crossing his arms. "Don't worry, I've already chosen someone for that."

"Ah, I see!" Yunsi looked at Yulanxing, seemingly understanding his meaning, and smiled back in response.
