Chapter Ninety-Eight: Unparalleled Genius

Yunsi slowly got up from the ground, brushed the dust off her bottom, and casually remarked, "It's not as impressive as you make it out to be, is it? If you were to perform it in front of Master Wen, it wouldn't be much better than showing off a skill he already possesses!"

"Well then, what kind of immortal technique do you want to learn? Can you handle something more powerful?" Junfeng asked indifferently.

Yunsi fell silent for a moment, as if seriously considering her options, before making a decision. "Can you manipulate the clouds and rain?"

Junfeng chuckled and said, "Never mind manipulating clouds and rain; with just a flick of my finger, I can control the seasons, revive withered trees, and reverse the flow of water. But, that being said, this technique is quite difficult. Can you learn it within the day?"

As he spoke, he couldn't help but glance at Yunsi's petite frame, a mischievous smile playing on his lips.

"Well..." Yunsi hesitated. She knew her own abilities very well; it was simply impossible.

"Very well, today I happen to have some free time, so I'll accompany you to learn," Junfeng decided.

"We've been waiting here for three hours already. When will the recruitment begin?"

"Yeah, we've been waiting for so long. Why won't they come out and explain?"

Outside the palace, a crowd had gathered, clamoring and protesting at the Red Gate.

"The noise outside the Pavilion is getting louder and louder. It's only a matter of time before the Emperor hears about it," said one of Master Wen's disciples.

Hearing this, Master Wen sighed heavily and said, "Has that girl been found?"

The disciple shook his head, saying, "The disciples we sent out have searched the entire capital inside and out, but they couldn't find the girl that Master Wen mentioned."

With a furrowed brow, Master Wen's disappointment was evident in his eyes. He sighed deeply and said, "Forget it, let them all come in."

"It's just a pity that the girl's unparalleled talent has no place to be bestowed upon," he said somewhat helplessly. Turning around, he stood with his hands behind his back, not looking in that direction again.

The crimson gate slowly opened, and the crowd streamed in. Soon, most of the noisy people outside had disappeared, leaving the area deserted.

"Wait, there's still someone who hasn't entered..."

Intermittent voices reached Master Wen's ears, and he turned around in surprise, only to see a small figure running towards them with all her might. His tightly furrowed brow relaxed into a smile.

"Quick, let her in!" Master Wen exclaimed excitedly.

The crimson gate opened once again, and Yunsi successfully entered, holding up her letter of recommendation high and shouting, "I've come to be selected as a disciple of the Heavenly Pivot Pavilion!" Unlike last time, she exuded confidence, making her seem like a natural-born genius.

The named disciples were led to a secluded hall, which resembled more of a Taoist temple than a palace, especially with the octagonal platform at the entrance.

From the crimson walls and golden tiles all the way to the simple yet luxurious Taoist temple, it felt like entering another world.

Yunsi, like everyone else, crowded around the edge of the platform. Those on the platform had already begun displaying their magical abilities, manipulating water and fire, showcasing a variety of skills, as if afraid of missing anything.

Unfortunately, their efforts did not garner approval from the audience below.

"Get down! What's all this? You dare come to the Heavenly Pivot Pavilion with such mediocre skills? Go home and rest!"

"What kind of performance is this? Hurry up and get down! Don't waste everyone's time."
