Tevos resisted the urge to massage her temples as she thought about the report Natila just gave the council, revealing potentially two monstrous civilizations unleashed upon the known galaxy by the Turians, who for some asinine reason thought it was a great idea to open fire on one of them.
The result, the scraping of just 2 vessels, which were a dreadnought and a frigate due to how damaged they were, they barely even looked like ships anymore, with how much of their superstructure was missing and their cores on the verge of detonating, they were deemed a complete loss, and that loss would not be taken likely, especially since a dreadnought is involved here.
The only ships left of that investigation fleet that were relatively space worthy were two cruisers, and even then, they needed months of dock-work repairs to fix the damage they sustained.
Thankfully, there was good news to this, the diplomat's venture yielded positive results as a ceasefire was quickly struck with both sides and now work on getting these new races integrated with the Citadel could now begin.
While that was good, Tevos could help but have cause for concern, Natila's report also highlighted how utterly alien these Humans were, along with those beings called the Voyagers of Origin.
To begin with, both factions had not a single ounce of Element Zero power signatures among their vessels which quite frankly, was impossible to conceive, and yet that's what was reported by the ship captains' officers that transported Natila and the others.
If that was the case, it would explain the sheer sizes of the alien ships, but not so much about their firepower, nor the Voyagers, Tevos was still having a hard time even believing that the ship belonging to the Voyagers, the Red Tear, could even be so big, if it was not for the photos taken by ARV Liian then she would of outright dismissed these claims of a monster ship of such a size.
And yet here she was presented with evidence to the contrary.
Tevos was also miffed that they were unable to bring those beings to the Citadel to continue negotiations with them as they had no way to contact them on their own other then perhaps going through Human channels.
But that was fine, Tevos could wait years to get them into the Citadel, in the meantime, she and her fellow Councilors could focus on getting these Humans to join and submit to their terms.
Seeing their fleet roster on one section of the report, she eyed their biggest vessel, a 4km behemoth of a ship, it was obvious that they couldn't get them to get rid of it, but they could most certainly prevent them from making more, and they can't refuse because of the implications of going against them.
After all, what was a small multi-star system nation compared to the rest of the galactic community?

"Leo, why do you want us to make a fleet of warships instead of helping the Citadel races make something to deal with the Reapers?" Mum said to me in a calm yet questioning manner as I voiced my plan to my family.
"Well to start off with, I just don't trust them, and Kelly and I have a lot of reasons as to why. Second, it would be more reasonable as this force would be firmly within our control to dictate what it can and cannot do, furthermore it would grant us a great amount of flexibility to pursue multiple objectives that we are setting for ourselves" I explain my reasoning to them which gives me a few nods of approval.
"I do agree with it, it may actually help my own plan," Kelly says, seemingly revealing her plan on what to do with the Reaper problem.
"And what would you do with this fleet, Kelly?" Mother asked her youngest, who in turn smirked.
"I will take a portion of the fleet we Will make and use it to conquer Omega and become the Pirate Queen, and then I will begin a takeover of the Terminus Systems and build them up into a bulwark against the Reapers, all while improving life amongst those regions" what Kelly proposed stunned us into silence.
Her plan was, it wasn't something I expected from my little sister, not at all.
I began thinking about it though, she would take a place that is known as a symbol of scum and villainy in space and turn it into a stronghold of her crusade into the rest of the Terminus Systems effectively becoming another warlord vying for control, but only she would have the power and means to take it all.
"Are you serious about this young lady? You want to go into that place and take over, become another warlord, be another cause of death." Mum said to Kelly accusingly. Kelly in turn, scoffed and didn't back down.
"At least it'll save millions of innocent people in the future, I'll be turning a lawless area of space into something for the good of all, and you can't criticise me on this nor on the lives I'll take, not after we massacred that patrol fleet, and especially not after when we just sat back and did nothing but watch the next Turian fleet get slaughtered, you want to question my morality on this, how about to question your own." That right there, hit me and likely everyone else deeply.
She was right, our morality was loose, I still remember the feeling of excitement when I watched the destruction of that fleet, the loss of thousands of lives filled my heart with joy, even when I saw how the Red Tear obliterated that earlier patrol fleet, I felt nothing but amusement.
The fact that I didn't bother to question myself on what I was feeling was odd, but even now, I just can't bring myself to even care about the lives of the dead.
I suppose a comparison to it would be as how I would feel when I kill or even dispose of bugs and ants.
And I know how dangerous such a thought process can be, as I've seen enough Japanese Anime, Chinese Cartoons, and American Comics to know what happens to beings who think like that.
But still, I just couldn't find it in me to care, in fact, the only thing that seemed to be on my mind was humans and humanity as a whole. Aliens, I realise, were becoming just a pest in my eyes, like bugs, you watch out for them when you see them and kill without a second thought if they get too close, and if they became greater than an annoyance you ether find a way to kill them all or you call in a exterminator when you've tolerated their existence for too long.
It seems Kelly has a point, I think I'll try to fix my distorted morality problem...probably not…hmm maybe just maybe, I'll find some aliens I'll treat like my old pet spiders, small, cute and a wonderful tool to deal with the other bugs in the world, or well in this case, galaxy.
I could also perhaps create my so-called pets, be it magically or scientifically, perhaps even both ways.
Though after a bit of silence, Mother finally spoke.
"Very well, Leo, Kelly, I approve of both of your plans, however, Kelly, I expect a detailed plan regarding how you're going to take over those systems, and for you, Leo, I want you to show me what you plan on making and their viability." With that, it was decided.
"Is there anything you would like to do, Charlie?" Mother said again, likely wondering if our eldest had a plan of their own.
They seemed to think about it for a moment before shrugging and shaking their head at us, showing that they weren't planning on anything and would be following our lead.
"Then if there is nothing else to discuss, we will end this meeting here." With that, she floated up and began leaving the room with Mum following behind.
Charlie left as well, but moving in another direction down the hall.
Kelly headed for her room to begin plans for her campaign.
I also headed for my room, I needed to think about the possible ships from different franchises I could shamelessly plagiarize from in order to solve the Reaper problem, thus which leads to the question of what to use.
Do I keep to the theme of this vessel and source a way to build Imperial ships, maybe just some big bios, but not everything else, as they may take up too much time and resources.
Gundam items? No too small. Mechs might be worth it though.
Star Citizen seems appealing, but I'd need to tweak the capital ships' firepower in some way to be effective.
Babylon 5? I know absolutely nothing about it, so that idea is scrapped.
Hmm, what about the Systems Alliance design profile? They don't exist here, but they would fit the theme quite well, plus giving them a tune-up wouldn't be too wild; this idea is a contender.
What else is there that I am forgetting? Star Wars, maybe. (AN: several chapters too early for that)
Battlestar Galactica. Not enough human ship designs to make it work, but that's a cop-out thought, I could easily make the iconic ships modifiable for specific purposes.
I would do Star Trek, but I feel an immense urge to not even bother with it, as I don't exactly like that franchise, despite what I've seen from it all, so scrapping.
And the others I can think of, things I've seen but never got into nor know enough about due to focusing on being an elite athlete, EVE, where would I begin, Homeworld would be fun, and so would Sins of a Solar Empire, pity I didn't live to play the sequel, Starcraft? I could also do Stellaris, Macross or even Legend of the Galactic Heroes, Starblazers, or its most famous title, Space Battleship Yamato.
Ah bloody hell, there are so many cool things I could bring to life in this universe, but which one would be practical in forming my little sister's thought empire?
All these thoughts swirled around in my mind as I reached my room, even more so when I booted up my terminal and began organizing documents and typing down everything going on in my head.
Ultimately, I had to make a choice, so to make things more simplistic for myself, I discarded ideas and franchises that I knew too little about, which narrowed down my choices into a much more easier format.
This left with Star Citizen, 40k, and the Systems Alliance modified ship idea all displayed in three separate documents, pros and cons were added in, the feasibility, what do I take out or add in.
40k is out but not gone, we'd likely use the ships for our own personal fleet to escort the Red Tear, we could also have more Space Marines instead of being limited to just the one thousand currently on board, things to do in the future.
After some more thought about it, I decided upon the modified alliance ship designs, making it so that they still use Element Zero but incorporate new and different technologies, a main gun with the same properties as the UNSC armoury, perhaps create the Thanix cannons early, it would bump up the threat level the ships would have overall, need to upscale it as well.
I'd save the Star Citizen ship designs for a mercenary fleet, plausible deniability, and find a way to make the railguns and lasers scarier.
With that, I have selected the roles for these three space forces will occupy.
40k for personal fleet.
Systems Alliance for my sister's thought empire.
And lastly, the Star Citizen inspired mercenary fleet.
Now comes the tedious task of sorting out appropriate designs and roles of ships to use and make official, I don't want to bloat the unit roster too much, I need to make sure some things are streamlined.
For our personal fleet, I'll stick to Space Marine vessels, however, I will definitely be mitigating the broadside aspect of these ships, some functions need to be abandoned or redesigned, like the torpedos for instances.
Thankfully, this terminal seems to have everything I need in order to find the blueprints for my projects.
...
...Ok, now that I think about it, why is all this stuff here in the database?
...
…This is very weird, why does this terminal have what I'm searching for?
…
Not sure if I should complain or something, it's very clear to me that a higher power, likely the FIRST, is behind this convenient discovery.
…
For the sake of my sanity, I'll just ignore it and focus on my project.
Our fleet will mostly be made up of modified Astartes vessels, the most numerous would be mostly Escorts of two types, the Nova and Gladius Frigates.
Bear in mind that these vessels are the smallest, despite the fact that they are only a few hundred meters over the kilometre mark, a dreadnought to the Citadel and a light/heavy cruiser to the UNSC.
Next would be the Vanguard-class light cruisers, this class has three variants or Patterns, mark 1 to 3.
However, I'm more inclined to convert this class into a dedicated landing / transport / planetary assault ship, its 3km frame allows for a wonderful amount of room for an invasion force and cargo, it also allows for me to add on effective defensive weaponry just so the ship isn't vulnerable on its own, but it still needs an escort to keep it safe.
For the main battle line, the 4km Strike Cruiser would fill the role, I'd keep the variants down to just two distinct sub-classes: a carrier variant and a ship killer variant.
They would be labelled as Type C-Class and Type K-Class Strike Cruisers, the only thing these two designs would share is that on their wing structure areas, those cannons would be replaced with a single ventral and single dorsal dual heavy Lance Cannons, allowing them to have 4 turrets on a target in front of them.
Type-C would lose its broadside cannons in favour of more hangar capacity and boast a more comprehensive scanning and communications array along with a greater amount of AA guns, the hangar would house hundreds of void craft, including a ground contingent to be deployed to the surface of a planet.
Type-K would have its broadside cannon array replaced with 2 dual Lance Cannons, on the ventral and dorsal areas of the ship, it'll mount 2 turret tri-barrel Heavy Macrocannons, in the very middle of the ship at the prow, the vessel shall hold a single quad Heavy Lance Cannon, AA guns would be sparse but not neglected, and the hanger space would be placed closer to the far mid back of the vessel instead at the front so that it could house a small air wing for defensive purposes or perhaps a small deployable ground force.
Finally, I reached the Battle Barge, the amount I planned to have would be either 4 or 5 considering these things would exceed the 8km mark and would be outfitted with bullshit amount of firepower and aerospace craft, plus a deployable ground force, but like the modified Strike Cruisers I planned for specific sub-classes.
I would have a Super-Carrier, Type-S, and a Battleship variant, Type-B, and the last one would stay on the drawing board for now, Type-M, a mobile factory ship or it could be a ship that has custom-made parts or purpose built sections built into its designs according to the individual desires of my family, our own personalised Battle Barge in the event that if I or one of my siblings wants to venture out into the unknown reaches of space by ourselves in the far distant future.
These Battle Barge variants will be very few in number, however, I'm uncertain as to the number that we will limit them at, considering these ships are going to take an extraordinary amount of resources to fabricate, what I can safely say though, is that the number will not exceed 5, but if i underestimate the amount of resources needed I'd likely bump it down to 3 or 2.
And now to how many of each Type I should plan for, should I have one be more numerous than the other, how about three carrier types and two battleship types, the opposite way?
I decided to have two of each and make one theoretical Type-M, just to experiment with how well it could perform in the real world before deciding to make more.
Now let us move on to the actual redesign.
Much like the Type-C Strike Cruiser, the Type-S will have the broadside cannons entirely removed, allowing for a ludicrous amount of space for void operations, along with a dedicated area reserved for a ground force, weapon-wise, there will be three tri-barrel Heavy Macrocannons turrets on the top and bottom along with a broadside Lance Cannon batterie right at the mid back of the ship in line with the bridge section, as well as some mix cannons at the back of the vessel just so it isn't a blind-spot for the ship, and like the Type-C, this variant will also included those high powered scanner and comm stations as befitting a carrier.
And now for the Type-B, again the broadside cannons are going to be replaced with a Heavy Lance Cannon array with 8 dual Lance turrets, 4 to fire upwards while another four under them should fire downwards, and if a poor sucker ride alongside the ship they'll be fired upon all 8 gun simultaneously, and running on the middle top and bottom section like the Type-S, three tri-barrel Heavy Macrocannon turrets, and now finally at the front of the ship, the forward hanger space gives way for two, quad Heavy Lance Cannon turrets.
I leaned back in my chair and stretched for a bit as I observed the document in front of me and gazed at the 3d models of these redesigned vessels.
I was pretty happy with what I'd come up with, but now comes the annoying task of actually building these things, but before I began to think about that headache of a problem, I now had to work on the redesigns for the Systems Alliance, all for my little sister's empire project.
Despite the pain in having to think about new ways to make a fictional ship from another source material, I can't help but feel happy at doing this, there was something soothing about sitting here and making 'what if' designs for make-believe warships to become a reality.
Cracking my back, I got back to it, saving my documents for our personal fleet, before making new documents labelled "little sis empire ships to conquer the galaxy." I even added stars and stripes to the would-be front cover just for the fun of it.
