chapter 14

"Well, well, well," a familiar voice echoed through the bizarre landscape. "Looks like the spider caught himself a fly."

Rick, still tangled in webbing, struggled futilely as a new figure emerged from the swirling portal. It was Morty Smith, but not the Morty Spider-Man knew. This Morty was taller, broader, and his eyes gleamed with a chilling intelligence.

"President Morty," Spider-Man said, his voice laced with caution.

President Morty smirked, adjusting his suit jacket. "In the flesh," he said, his voice smooth and menacing. "And I see you've apprehended our mutual acquaintance, Rick Sanchez."

Spider-Man nodded, keeping a wary eye on President Morty. He knew this version of Morty was a master manipulator, a ruthless leader who had risen to power through cunning and deceit.

"I'm here to take him back," President Morty said, gesturing towards Rick. "He's a valuable asset to my organization."

Spider-Man tightened his grip on the Reality Remixer. "I don't think so," he said. "Rick is a danger to the multiverse. He needs to be stopped."

President Morty chuckled, a cold sound that sent shivers down Spider-Man's spine. "You misunderstand, Spider-Man," he said. "I'm not here to stop Rick. I'm here to help him."

He walked towards Rick, his footsteps echoing in the eerie silence. He knelt beside the webbed scientist, his eyes boring into Rick's.

"You've caused quite a mess, Rick," he said. "But don't worry. I'll clean it up."

He produced a small device from his pocket, pressing a button. The webbing that bound Rick disintegrated, freeing him from his restraints.

Rick stretched his limbs, a wicked grin spreading across his face. "Morty," he said, his voice dripping with sarcasm. "Always a pleasure to see you."

President Morty extended a hand. "Shall we?"

Rick took his hand, and the two walked towards the portal, their laughter echoing through the strange dimension. Spider-Man watched them go, a sense of foreboding washing over him. He knew that this was just the beginning. The battle for the multiverse had entered a new, more dangerous phase.
