Chapter 9

Brewer was terrified. He didn't expect that the person who destroyed the three major forces was Lawrence the Quick Hand. If he had known that he was dealing with a pirate of this level, he wouldn't have dared to come here, even at the risk of his life. A bounty of over 40 million Baileys was rare in the Four Seas, and each was a fierce existence, not something their local navies could compete with. At least, not something his navy, who could only eat and wait to die, could compete with!

'Could it be that damn Yala deliberately passed on false information just to get me killed?'

Suddenly, Brewer thought of something, and his face became extremely gloomy. Previously, he felt something was wrong with Yala and the other navy officers. How could a mere family make them so afraid? It turned out they were deliberately acting to provoke him to make a move! What a plan! Brewer felt that Yala had provoked him and passed on false information to get him killed, thereby making his position on the island more stable. Given the friction between them, this possibility wasn't small!

'Yala, you are so cruel!' Brewer gritted his teeth, filled with resentment.

"Hmph, do you regret it now? Navy, it's a pity it's too late. If you dare to attack us, your navy is destined to have only one end!" Lawrence let out a cold snort, but his attack remained fierce. The pistols fired, and every navy became a victim of his gun. His pistols had been modified, making them more than ten times stronger than ordinary pistols. Without a certain level of physical fitness and handling skills, every shot would burden his arm.

Because of this, none of the navy could dodge his bullets. It didn't take long for all the navy present to be killed, leaving only Brewer alone. Lawrence didn't kill Brewer because he was worried the navy had already transferred the information. Keeping someone alive was essential to inquire about the situation.

Lawrence approached Brewer with a cold expression, put a pistol to his head, and asked coldly, "Navy, if you don't want to die, tell me everything you know!"

Lawrence had received Orlean's call for help and learned that someone was targeting their Oli family. Moreover, the timing was too accurate, with an attack happening less than a day after the research results came out. It was hard not to see the connections!

Lawrence even suspected that spies from the World Government had passed on the information immediately. Otherwise, it would be impossible for someone to attack the next day.

"No, don't kill me! I'll tell you everything!" Brewer, frightened by Lawrence's killing spree, sat on the ground trembling, his tone shaky.

Seeing Brewer's behavior, Lawrence showed contempt. However, this was better. The more people who feared death, the easier it was to get information from them!

"What is the purpose of your navy coming here?" Lawrence squatted down, with the pistol still pressed against Brewer's forehead, looking directly at him indifferently.

Hearing this, Brewer's heart trembled, knowing that a bad answer meant death. Under the threat of death, his thoughts raced. He couldn't tell the truth. He couldn't say they came because of the person who destroyed the three major forces. Saying that would definitely get him killed.

Even with a glimmer of hope, Brewer wouldn't give up. He would do his best to survive, even if he had to drag everyone on the island down with him! Since he couldn't tell the truth, he used the Vinsmoke family as a shield.

So, he replied in a trembling voice, "There is news from Navy headquarters that the Oli family on the island is involved with the Vinsmoke family..."

However, before he could finish speaking, there was a 'bang,' and Brewer's head exploded, splattering red and white matter all over the ground... He could only say that death was deserved...

Lawrence retracted the pistol with a gloomy face. While wiping off the splashes on the gun, he cursed in a low voice, "So the navy knows something? Damn it! This place must be moved!"

"By the way, the information!! Damn, I forgot to ask for the information!" Lawrence couldn't help but fire a few more shots at Brewer's body, venting his anger. Looking at the ruins of the Oli residence, he didn't need to go down to know that the experimental site below had been ransacked. It would be useless to go down now.

Lawrence took a deep breath and calmed down.

'It's been less than an hour since Orlean sent the news. No matter how fast the navy moves, it will take time to transfer the information.'

'When I came here, the port was blocked, so the information is likely still on the island... The only possibility is the naval branch base!!'

Lawrence snorted coldly and looked at the naval branch base, his gaze extremely cold.

"Navy, I hope you guys are sensible. Otherwise, don't blame me for killing everyone on the island!"

...

The perspective returns to Ron.

After killing everyone in the underground experiment site, Ron, like a protagonist in a game, obtained some items in the next dungeon. One was a magical crystal card, which he learned from the researchers contained all the research materials of this experimental site. Additionally, Ron acquired some strange-looking weapons, including long guns that could shoot lightning, boots with jet holes, the pistol Orlean had held, and a cloak that Ron initially thought was very low-tech...

'It's still a long time before the original story starts... Could it be that the Vinsmoke family hasn't made the battle suits yet?' Ron wondered, looking at these 'toys.'

Ron wasn't very interested in these things; he had cheats, so he didn't really need them. However, these items might have research value for others. Being useful to others meant they could be exchanged for money. Ron, who was currently broke, realized these things could be useful.

He could sell them for money!
