Chapter 8

Zirvini probably understood his meaning. She smiled, "Probably."

After saying this, the two of them smiled at each other.

"Uh, I didn't expect it to be you..." Lucas said somewhat shyly, looking at her.

"I didn't expect it to be you either. I thought it would be an old man..." Zirvini wrinkled her nose at him. He was stunned for a moment, then burst into laughter.

When Daniel stepped through the door, he saw her cheerful face. He raised an eyebrow and looked at the man sitting opposite her. Boyfriend? Lover?

The woman beside him spoke in a gentle voice, "Ren? What's wrong? Aren't you going in?"

He turned to look at her and gave her a fierce kiss on the lips, leaving the woman dizzy and unsteady on her feet from his passionate kiss.

Zirvini didn't expect the person she was set up with to be Lucas, the man she had met just that morning. Met him in the morning and saw him again in the evening.

He said, "We really are fated to meet."

Zirvini smiled. Fated? Perhaps.

She took a sip of coffee and when she looked up again, her eyes widened as she saw someone walking towards her. Her first instinct was to run. But he was already so close, running was impossible. She could only lower her head, hoping he hadn't seen her or wasn't interested in bothering her.

But... but... evidently, her hopes were in vain. He still walked straight towards her...

"Baby, it's just a little argument. Is it necessary to get so mad that you go out looking for another man?"

His seductive voice rang out, and she almost fainted on the spot.

She stared at him with wide eyes, her mouth agape, watching as he casually sat down beside her and put his arm around her shoulder. She could only point a finger at him.

Daniel's smile widened, and he took her raised finger in his hand, bringing it to his mouth for a gentle bite.

Zirvini jumped as if electrocuted but couldn't get away due to his hold.

"Hey... let go..." she shouted at him in anger.

If he hadn't been holding her so tightly, she would have kicked him away by now.

Lucas was truly stunned, watching the flirtatious interaction between the two. He coughed awkwardly, "Uh... who is this gentleman...?"

As soon as they stepped outside, Zirvini fiercely shook off Daniel's hand and yelled at him, "What are you doing?"

"Baby, why so loud? I'm not deaf..." he said with a roguish smile, stepping forward to hold her hand again.

Zirvini slapped his hand away, refusing any further contact. Looking at his overly handsome face, she only felt annoyed. Her heart was filled with too much anger, which now had only one direction to vent: "You better stay away from me. I told you I don't want to see you again!"

"Really? Baby, you hurt my feelings..." he said, pretending to rub his chest, his eyes glancing at her. "But I really, really want to see you." He moved closer to her, looking at her with rare tenderness and deep affection.

Zirvini was momentarily stunned, her heart suddenly pounding. She took a big step back to put some distance between herself and this dangerous man.

"What exactly do you want?" she asked.

Daniel looked at her guarded expression and smiled, "Haven't I told you before?" His eyes suddenly burned with intensity as he looked at her.

Zirvini's eyes widened instantly. This perverted man, this playboy, relying on his innocent-looking handsome face, spent all his time flirting with women. To think he was still the CEO of Renyuan. Does having a lot of money make him so arrogant? Does having money mean he can toy with women like this? Zirvini cursed him hundreds of times in her heart. Hmph, to be his woman? Not a chance!

"I'm sorry, Mr. Vincent, I don't know what you're talking about?" Zirvini put on a smile, deciding to play dumb.

Daniel raised an eyebrow, "Did I not make myself clear?" He looked at her innocent smile. Did this little girl think she could fool him? He didn't mind making his intentions clearer.

Daniel found her demeanor amusing. Teasing her was indeed a delightful pastime. Perhaps his days would no longer be boring. "Fiancé? You wouldn't say that Vincent is your fiancé, would you? Or... was it that gentleman just now?" He looked at her leisurely.

Zirvini's face turned pale instantly. Mentioning Vincent still brought a sharp pain to her heart. Even though she had said she wouldn't think of him anymore, wouldn't cry for him anymore, years of feelings weren't something that could be easily discarded. The sudden silence made Daniel pause. Seeing her pale face, his chest felt tight. He preferred seeing her fierce and fiery.

"What's wrong? Did I say something wrong?" he asked.

Zirvini didn't know how he knew about Vincent, but she could guess that a conceited playboy like him would definitely investigate her.

She glanced at him and said nothing more, turning to walk away.

Daniel stared at her back, frowning, and quickly caught up with her, "Where are you going?"

Zirvini ignored him, but he grabbed her hand. She glared at him, "What do you want?"

Seeing her fiery temper flare up again, he smiled knowingly. This was more like her.

"I'm hungry. Come eat with me," he said shamelessly.

"What does your hunger have to do with me? I'm not hungry!" She tried to shake off his grip, but couldn't.

"Be gentle, be gentle. People are watching."

Zirvini looked around and saw that passersby were indeed glancing at them.

The restaurant was truly classy, and the waitstaff were very polite. The food in front of her was exquisite. Unfortunately, the person sitting opposite her made Zirvini lose her appetite completely.

Yes, he was handsome enough to make people want to look at him more, and his status as a big boss could make young girls scream with excitement. But Zirvini was not a young girl, nor was she someone who would run into a lamppost at the sight of a handsome man. Uh... at most, she might run into a bus stop sign. Maybe she would have in the past, but after Vincent, she kept her distance from handsome men. "What? Not to your taste?" Daniel asked, seeing her lack of appetite.

"You're quite the joker, Mr. President. How could it not be to my taste? I just ate too much earlier, so I can't eat now..." she said coolly.

He curled his lips into a smile and stared at her intensely, making Zirvini's hair stand on end. Noticing that he hadn't touched his food either, she gestured towards it, trying to break the awkward silence.
