Chapter 14

Lucas POV

Rumors started spreading of the possibility that my black sword is actually Vslyrian Steel. That shook me because there was no one of them knowing that without looking at the blade carefully. Did a little bird enter my room?

I decided to shelve it and not answer any questions. Normally nobility would be pleased to have one valyrian steel sword but we ate a new house. A rich one but new.

I have given them no reason to fear me yet.

But I will.

I will carve the fear of my name into their bloodline. There's conflict on the horizon. Everything points to it. Even my dreams. I see a mountain attacking two little dragons and a bright spear.

I don't know who this mountain is but the other three is obvious. Elia and her children will be in danger. I'll do my best to protect them. I'll probably show her escape routes from her room I found when I was a sworn shield.

I practically mapped out the hidden routes during my time there. I'm also sure this creature called Varys has done the same. Maybe send a few knights to be guards with the order to protect them and get them out of danger.

Rhaegar… he did a stupid thing. The girl is 15 name days. Is he scorning Elia? After all she has done for him? She left her home and got married to him on short notice because of duty. Even if she's dornish she doesn't have dalliances with others unlike him who made his public.

He crowned her with flowers after winning the joust. The outrage and silence was stifling. Silver Prince indeed. As Rhaella's son I expected more but I am not surprised. I never truly liked the guy but he's a royal so I will keep my opinions to myself.

The Great Council plan… if it wasn't dead before now it is. Rhaegar pissed away all the goodwill he accumulated for years. As I was leaving I remembered the gift I bought for Rhaella expecting her to be her. Two valyrian steel rings I got from a magister as a gift for exclusively selling through him in Lorath on a five year contract.

I went looking and eventually found Ashara with Elia discussing something.

'Ladies ladies. I need your help.'

'What do you need Lord Radahn?' said Ashara while Elia stayed silent looking at me.

'First I have to say, Princess whatever came upon Rhaegar to disrespect you like this is no failing on your part but on his. Highlighting his immaturity still and proving he is not ready for the throne. You are a smart, beautiful and witty princess of Dorne and the seven kingdoms. Stand proud and never show those vultures weakness.'

She smiled softly at that and answered,

'I can see why Rhaella keeps you around.'

'Allegedly.'

That brought laughter out of all us as we laughed away the depression in the air.

'And secondly, Ashara… can you help me give this to my queen? I can't send it by raven or by proxy as the queen is always being watched. Tell her I saw it and thought it would match her eyes.'

'Oohhhh forbidden romanceeee. The spiciest type.' said Ashara while smiling and taking the ring. These Dornish women will be the death of me.

'By the way I caught a glimpse of you and the second son of House Stark. I have to say sparks were flying.Should I expect a wedding invite soon?'

'Very funny. A dance and he stole my heart away. Be serious,Lucas.'

'You will break the boy's heart,Ash. But if you can't handle a bad bitch don't court one.'

'Damn. I have to say it next so everyone thinks its mine.' said Ash while playfully punching my shoulder.

'So what are your plans now, Luke?' asked Elia. I took some time to think before answering the cheeky princess.

'I would go back to Limgrave to soend time with my children and raise them. I will also sneakily prepare troops for conflict. I advise you both do the same especially you,Elia. If anything happens you would be in the middle of King's Landing without Dornish support. You must remedy that soon and fast.'

'Why? There's nothing going on.'

'Everything is going on,my princess. I've been in a lot of wars. I've started a few myself. There is a tension in the air before it truly begins. I feel the tension even now. Arm yourself for war so you may know peace.' I said to her with finality before bowing and leaving.

I went back to my tent to see my boy all packed up and ready to go. The servants have cleaned up and prepared horses for our departure.
