Dan stretched out his hand. All three of them stared silently, looking at Dan with a mixture of anticipation and anxiety.
"What is it? Aren't you going to check me?" Dan asked, breaking the silence.
Troy, regaining his composure, responded, "Uh-huh, sure, I will." He took Dan's hand, punctured his thumb, and collected a blood sample. He then stumbled over to the microscope to analyze it.
After a tense few minutes, Troy returned, the three of them waiting in anticipation. His mouth stretched wide into a hopeful grin, and his eyes glinted with relief. He made a small nod and said, "It will work."
Leo and Alene embraced each other in joy. They ran up to Tomen, who was still holding on to life, and reassured him with newfound hope.
"I think we should start right away," Dan suggested.
"Yeah, we should," Troy agreed. He walked up to Dan and said, "Dan, about your blood..."
