Welcome To A Life Of Isolation!

Redrum was lying on the ground with Rio's right foot planted on his throat. Gagging sounds escaped his mouth as Rio put some force.

"You have no idea how long I have been waiting for this moment." Rio glared at Redrum's twitching body.

The latter didn't transform into his slime self and remained stuck under Rio's foot. After putting pressure on his throat for a minute, Rio decided it was time for her to finish everything.

"Allen will soon meet you in hell," Rio muttered before lifting her foot.

The moment she lifted her foot off Redrum's throat, his body turned into ashes. 

Lex watched this with widened eyes. Despite seeing everything up close, he had no idea how Rio managed to turn Redrum into ashes.

[ Beautiful, strong, and ruthless. I think we have managed to find the perfect candidate to help you unlock your powers… ] Elfie whistled.

'I think the same thing.'

Lex closely eyed Rio while she walked closer to him. 

"So what is going to happen now?" Lex questioned.

"First, we remove any pieces of evidence," Rio replied and snapped her fingers. 

The car immediately turned into ashes, similar to what happened with Redrum. Rio stretched her body a bit before looking at Lex.

"Now, I take you to your home and you can pack the things you need." Rio declared.

Lex wondered how they were going to travel. Calling a cab might not be the best method of traveling for them. 

"Lex, do you have motion sickness?"

"A bit. Why?"

Instead of replying, Rio stepped closer to Lex and placed her right hand on his shoulder. Her sweet scent, void of any perfume, entered his nose.

It would have been a pretty relaxing moment if not for what happened next.

"Close your eyes. It will be better this way." Rio suggested.

Without any warning, Lex's body rose in the air alongside Rio. A playful smile appeared on her face as she placed both of her hands on Lex's shoulders.

"If you feel nauseous, you can hug me. I won't mind hehe." Rio chuckled.

The two of them were now floating multiple meters off the ground. With a jerk, they started moving in a random direction.

Despite Lex's motion sickness, he did not close his eyes. Instead, he focused his eyes on her face and noticed that the latter was smiling.

[ You are not fit to be a main character. ] Elfie commented

'And you are clearly not fit for a system or any other telepathic communication-using entity!' Lex snapped back.

[ You gotta deal with me. I am your best shot at a grand life. ]

'Grand life? What kind of grand life are you planning to give me?'

[ One where you are relaxing at home with your lovers, or lover, if you prefer to have one only. That would counter the name of the system though. ]

'Love isn't something that happens just by looking at someone. That's called attraction.'

[ Blah blah. You are attracted to Rio then. ]

'When will I receive my reward for completing the quest?' Lex asked, ignoring Elfie's statement.

[ When we are alone. I am not blabbering during such an important scene. I don't want to information dump. ]

'At least you have some common sense.'

Lex felt solid ground reappearing under his feet. Looking at his surroundings, Lex realized that he was currently standing in front of his house.

"How did you get my address?" Lex asked, temporarily forgetting about his squirmy stomach.

"I got it from the taxi you booked. Allen is kind enough to send me the details of any person who comes to my house and manages to meet me." Rio chuckled humorlessly. "You can go inside and get your stuff. I will wait outside."

Lex nodded and entered his house. He still didn't know who this Allen guy was and what connection he had with Rio. All Lex knew that his actions caused Allen to count him as an enemy.

Packing his belongings didn't take much time. Only the basic and essential items such as clothes were useful to carry.

While packing, a random thought appeared inside Lex's mind.

'Elfie, did my ability unsealing progress further?' 

[ Since you were in direct contact with Rio, you managed to make some progress. I also found out that more than seventy percent of your ability had already been unsealed by the original amount of EE present in your body. ]

'How long do you think it will take me to unlock the ability?'

[ It can range from a couple of days to months. The variable depends on how long you stay with her and whether you physically touch her or not. ] Elfie explained.

Lex understood that if he wanted to unlock his ability faster, he would need to increase his physical contact with Rio.

'But that's not going to be easy considering what she did to Redrum. If I anger her…'

Lex remembered how easily Rio had managed to convert Redrum and his car into ashes. He would need to take things slowly if he didn't want to end up in the same situation.

[ Don't worry. You have a special blessing in this regard. Once Rio becomes your lover, you will unlock a special blessing! ]

'Easier said than done.' Lex sighed.

"I am done," Lex said while stepping out of his house. "We are going back to your place now?"

"Yes, we are. I am sorry but you are going to face some more trouble on our way back." Rio offered her hand to Lex.

'Looks like my new hectic life is going to begin. Elfie, please use your sarcasm to provide this scenario with a good name.'

[ I will name this 'White Butler.' ] 

'What a way of avoiding copyrights and being racist at the same time…'

[ You were never the class president and neither are you a female so the other title I had in mind can't work. ]

'You could have used 'Class Failure Is A Butler' or something.' Lex suggested before frowning.

Elfie seemed to have influenced him to the point that he was suggesting fake titles to her. He definitely needed to keep a check on his mental health.

Lex took hold of Rio's hands and nodded for her to proceed. The latter wasted no time and immediately took into the air.

'What exactly is her power?' 

[ No idea. You can always ask her. ]

'You are useless, you know.'

[ Thank you, host~ ]

Five minutes later, Lex stood at the doors of the mansion where Rio lived.

"Congratulations, you are officially hired as my butler now!" Rio announced while opening the doors of the mansion. "Welcome to a life of isolation!"

She walked inside before turning in his direction. She spread her arms wide and welcomed him inside.

Lex gulped anxiously before moving inside. The moment he stepped into the mansion, Rio pulled him into an embrace.

Lex was caught off guard and his body stuck close to Rio. He felt her warm and soft skin beneath her clothes as the two of them hugged.

'Before this moment, I had forgotten how good a pure hug could feel.'

Lex felt as if he had reached enlightenment. This was the first time he was having such close interaction with another female.

[ Congratulations on acquiring a new attribute! ] Elfie's voice immediately brought Lex out of his enlightenment stage.

A system window was awaiting him, making him dread the words sprawled across it.

'I didn't know attribute granted you powers like this.' Lex commented in a surprised tone. 'What does the one that I originally have grant me?'

The window was replaced by another one which showed Lex the details of the first title he saw when he opened his status screen.

 - Grants the owner a willpower strong enough to resist the urge to kill themselves due to helplessness, hopelessness or simply the curiosity to find what comes after life. ]

'Uh…'

[ That is too ensure you don't die too quickly in case your life runs out of interesting plot. ] Elfie explained.

'Why does it sound like I am being treated as a source of entertainment for someone?'

[ Who knows? Maybe you are a piece of entertainment for someone. ] Elfie chuckled humorlessly. [ After all, you accepted me without knowing my origins. Now you have to be prepared for the unexpected. ]

Rio released Lex from her hug, looking at his with curiosity.

"So, what is the first thing that you are going to do as my butler?"
