A genius like no other

The confidence which everyone who passed the Stairs of Dao had, disappeared into nothingness after fifteen of them failed in straight without a single one passing.

Because it turned out that they had all wanted to pass the stairs fast, and due to this their comprehension of the Dao they learnt was too shallow.

The same trend of continuous fairies went on until Hector was called, and he became the first one to pass. That too with flying colours just like expected.

After Hector, the trend picked up a little as one out of every five or six passed, though they weren't as talented as Hector, their comprehension of Dao was just enough to pass the test.

Finally, the long awaited person was called who obtained the complete attention of everyone there.

As Felix nonchalantly stepped closer to the ball, Phoebe once again started closest observing the most handsome male of her life.

Don't get her wrong she wasn't doing it from being infatuated, but to try and find out what was so special about him that he managed to light up the last 9 stairs.

Maybe he had some treasure on him which allowed him to comprehend Dao fast?

It wasn't that she couldn't believe Felix having great talent, but she didn't want to. After all, she felt like Felix had looked down on her for some reason, and therefore she also wanted a reason to look down on him.

Unfortunately from his handsome face, to the carefree aura around him, and his seemingly boundless talent, Felix looked like Mr Friggin Perfect from every angle!

"Humph! Place your hand on the ball."

Looking weirdly at Phoebe who for some reason had been glaring at him for a long time, Felix stretched his arm and placed his palm on the transparent orb.

At first, nothing happened, but soon multiple colours emerged from the centre of the orb at once.

Looking at this one of the teachers commented, "The Dao of Creation."

Soon the various lights which originated from the same source struck each other and blew up resulting in myriad new colours all covering the whole orb.

"The Dao of Chaos."

The newly formed lights each depicted the Daos which Felix comprehended on the stairs.

There was the burning buy warm flame related to the Dao of Alchemy, the sharp white light which could pierce anything obviously from the Dao of Spear. The shattered nothingness which showed the Dao of Space, the five coloured elemental forces, and so on.

All in all the ball under Felix's hand shone like a disco ball and looked very beautiful making everyone fascinated with it.

At the same time no knows whom it was that broke the silence, but one of the teachers said, "This boy... He's a genius like no other...!"

Once someone said those words, the various Head Teachers who represented one Mountain each shot a vigilant look at each other and started shouting one after the other.

"He belongs to the Mountain of Sword!"

"Huh? Have your eyes turned blind? Didn't you see how perfect he is for the Mountain of Formations?"

"Stop kidding yourselves. A genius like him deserves to be in the Mountain of Creation."

"Humph! Regardless of what you all idiots think, the boy can only show his true potential at the Mountain of Elements!"

"Don't even think about stealing him from me! I plan on teaching this kid everything I know! Therefore he should join the Mountain of Spear!"

"Tsk, listen to me you fools..."

Never having expected the dignified looking head teachers to quarrel within themselves like little kids, both the new applicants and the existing students of the college looked weirdly at the fight which showed no signs of ending.

Finally, the headmaster of the college clapped her hands and interrupted them.

"Enough. We all know that his talent for every one of our core Daos is great, and more or less the same. And since you all have shown him how enthusiastic you are for him to join your respective Mountain. Just like with the other students, the final decision will be left for him to choose."

"And mind my words, there won't be any kind of coercing him to join any of your mountains."

Once the headmaster spoke there was no longer anyone going against her words, and every one of them looked at Felix with bright eyes that were practically shining.

Unfortunately, Felix didn't show the slightest care for the eight head teachers, but was looking for the only head teacher who wasn't here. The headteacher related to the Mountain of Chaos.

"I want to join the Mountain of Chaos."

With Felix's calm words, the place which had finally turned silent had once more turned rowdy and loud.

"Did I hear him right?"

"Is he going to throw away his talent and join that place?"

"What are you talking about? Isn't the Mountain of Chaos a part of the Ethereal Dao College, and one of the Nine Dao Mountains? What's wrong with him joining it?"

"It seems like you don't know about the Mountain of Chaos. Sure the Dao of Chaos is just as great as the other core Daos. In fact, it's actually the strongest one of them."

"The strongest one?!"

"Yes. The Dao of Chaos, is indeed the strongest Dao of all the core Daos inside the college. Unfortunately, it is just this fact which makes it almost impossible to comprehend."

"What does that mean?"

"You really are stupid aren't you? Let me put it km simple terms. In all the years since the college has existed, less than a handful have successfully graduated from the Mountain of Chaos. And even they who were originally peerless geniuses, ended up having just above average strength."

"Didn't you say it was the strongest Dao?"

Sensing the obvious scepticism, the one who was explaining until now snorted and gave his closing statements.

"I wasn't lying! It really is the strongest Dao. However, that is only if you can comprehend it properly. But since no one is able to comprehend it enough, they cannot compare with those who have comprehended a Dao more than them. Even if it is a Dao which isn't as strong as the Dao of Chaos."

Not just the students, but even the teachers were shocked by Felix's answer.

"Did you recently suffer an injury to your head boy?"

"Yes! That would logically explain why he'd choose the Dao of Chaos."

"Boy, listen to me! Even though the Dao of Chaos is stronger than the other Daos, it isn't worth anything since very few have been able to understand it.."
