Before the remaining teachers could give their advice, the headmaster once again stopped them and spoke.
"It's up to you to choose which Mountain you want to join boy. And you can join the Mountain of Chaos if that is what you want, since you do have a great talent for the Dao of Chaos."
"However I have to tell you something before you decide on joining the Mountain of Chaos. And that is... You will be one of the only two on the mountain."
"Also the head teacher of that respective mountain is very... What's the word I'm looking for... Yes, right! She's very self centred! Therefore you'll most likely end up having to learn the Dao of Chaos on your own."
Once she said this the headmaster spoke no further and observed Felix with great interest to see what he would choose.
Originally Felix chose the Mountain of Chaos, since he had comprehended the Dao of Yin and Yang which had many similarities with the Dao of Creation. And what he wanted to do was achieve this Dao by understanding the Dao of Chaos, and the order which he could form out of it.
Also, none of his Daos were suitable for fighting, and the Dao of Chaos was as destructive as they came.
Therefore it was the same as killing two birds with one stone.
But after he heard that he'd be living alone with a female head teacher on the mountain, his resolve was further strengthened.
Though he didn't know if she was a great beauty, as long as she had a decent appearance, Felix could have sex with her and comprehend Dao through her!
Not only would this save him a lot of time and effort, but he also wouldn't need to spend many years secluded and learn Dao the hard and boring way.
Felix confidently nodded his head towards the sexy head teacher and said, "I still want to join the Mountain of Chaos."
Nodding back, the headmaster smiled and said, "Good decision, if you had chosen something else I would've been disappointed in you. Try your best to learn the Dao of Chaos. But if you find it too hard, come and find me, I'll let you join another mountain."
Hearing what the headmaster said Felix didn't feel anything special, but all the teachers and students were stunned.
Though showing her enthusiasm towards Felix joining the Mountain of Chaos was a part of it, the most important reason was how she gave Felix the chance to change and study at another mountain if he wanted to!
It was an unspoken rule that once you join a mountain you could never leave it and join another mountain. So her giving Felix the chance to try his best at the Mountain of Chaos, and then choosing another mountain if he wanted to, was the same as giving him a lifeline.
Due to this even if he failed at obtaining enlightenment with the Dao of Chaos, he could join another mountain.
Listening to what the headmaster said all of the present head teachers nodded their heads thinking that her decision was very wise.
They had already figured out that Felix would be adamant about his decision. Therefore letting him join the Mountain of Chaos, and experience defeat from not being able to comprehend the Dao of Chaos, was the best source of action.
Because once that happened, he'd come to his senses and choose another mountain. After all, it would be a huge waste of such great talent if he was left to rot in the Mountain of Chaos due to one wrong decision.
Now all they could hope for was for Felix to give up on comprehending the Dao of Chaos as soon as possible, and join one of their mountains.
"Here's the token to your cave abode, I'm sure you can figure out which of these mountains is the Mountain of Chaos, right?"
Saying so the headmaster threw Felix a small card with the number two on one side, and an array engraved on the other side.
Catching the card which was pitch black in colour with myriad unclear colours all over, Felix felt that the image depicted chaos perfectly.
Holding the card, Felix walked away from the ball and looked at the nine bridges which led to nine different mountains.
And without the slightest hesitation, he walked towards the mountain which was surrounded by the Dao of Chaos.
Once Felix left the remaining applicants continued taking the entrance exam one after the other, after which they chose their respective mountain and dispersed.
But there were no more like Felix who went out on a limb and dared to choose the Mountain of Chaos, since they all knew their limits.
As for those few fangirls who wanted to follow Felix, they were coldly rejected by the teachers since they had zero talent in the Dao of Chaos.
...
The Ethereal Dao College had a total of Nine Mountains of Dao with each one being special in their own right.
The Mountain of Creation taught you how to make anything you want out of the thin air, while the Mountain of Sword taught you how to split anything they wanted by a wave of their finger.
The Mountain of Alchemy taught you how to grow herbs and then use them to create pills, and the Mountain of Formations showed you how to control the Dao of Metal and draw formations on anything.
The Ethereal Dao College wasn't as complicated as the outsiders thought but was quite simple.
One only needed to be less than 35 years to apply, and they could choose whichever mountain they wanted to after they passed the entrance exam.
Once they chose a mountain they could study in the college for a maximum of ninety-nine years whereupon they would have to leave regardless of whether they successfully graduate or not.
The graduation test was the same for everyone since they all shared the same starting point.
They only needed to reach a certain cultivation realm, and comprehend their chosen Dao to an acceptable level.
As long as both of the conditions are met, the student could graduate even if it had been just a month since they joined.
