Chapter 397: The Ninja Who Only Knows Taijutsu

Swish!

Guy's figure vanished from sight, leaving behind only a faint blur of motion. The next moment, a deafening bang shook the arena, accompanied by a cloud of dust.

Boom!

The ground where Shisui had stood moments ago was obliterated, cracks spidering out from the force of Guy's strike. Shisui, however, had already darted several meters away, his Sharingan spinning as he gauged the situation.

"These two are unbelievably fast!"

Most of the Genin spectators were left dumbfounded, their eyes unable to follow the rapid exchange. Among them, Asuma Sarutobi let out a gasp of disbelief.

Asuma prided himself on his skill, and his earlier performance in the exams had proven his dominance over most Genin. Yet, the sheer speed and power on display in the duel left him shaken. Even with his superior abilities, he wasn't sure he could escape Kai's strikes without a scratch.

"This guy's speed… it's unreal," Shisui muttered under his breath, his gaze locked onto Guy.

Several meters apart, the two combatants faced each other. Guy's strikes weren't just fast—they carried a force so intense it rivaled high-level ninjutsu. For Shisui, facing such raw power required constant vigilance. A single mistake could spell disaster.

"You're quick," Guy said, a grin spreading across his face. "As expected of someone from Kakashi's team."

Guy's confidence wasn't misplaced. His strength and speed were enough to challenge even Kakashi, who had been a Chunin for quite some time. The fact that Shisui had managed to avoid his initial strikes impressed him.

"Interesting. Let's see how long you can keep up."

Sweat trickled down Obito's temple as he watched from the sidelines. How did I ever think Guy was just an ordinary guy? He had often dismissed Guy's challenges to Kakashi, but now, seeing the raw strength behind Guy's movements, he realized just how wrong he'd been.

"Is that thick-browed Guy really this strong?" Obito muttered, glancing nervously at Kakashi, who watched the match in silence.

Meanwhile, Guy's eyes lit up with renewed fighting spirit. In an instant, he disappeared again.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

The training ground echoed with thunderous impacts as Guy's relentless strikes shattered the earth. Each attack left deep craters in the ground, forcing Shisui to retreat toward the edge of the arena.

"Is this boy really Mighty Duy's son?"

Hiruzen Sarutobi's voice broke the tense silence in the Hokage's office. His gaze was fixed on the crystal ball, a faint smile tugging at his lips.

Minato Namikaze stood beside him, his azure eyes locked on the scene unfolding in the arena.

"Yes," Minato replied softly, his tone laced with admiration. "Guy's father, Duy, may have been a lifelong Genin, but his strength far surpassed his rank."

Hiruzen chuckled knowingly. "Mighty Duy is no ordinary Genin. Even his son seems to have inherited that extraordinary will and dedication to taijutsu."

Minato nodded. Memories of Duy's sacrifice during the Third Ninja World War flooded his mind. Despite being ridiculed for his lack of ninjutsu and genjutsu, Duy had taken on the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist and emerged victorious, though at the cost of his life. His legendary use of the Eight Gates had immortalized him in the annals of Konoha's history.

In the arena, Shisui continued to dodge Guy's ferocious attacks, but his movements were becoming increasingly restricted. Each strike forced him closer to the edge, leaving him with fewer options.

Obito clenched his fists as he watched. "That guy only knows taijutsu?"

Kaneharu, one of Guy's teammates, turned to Obito with a serious expression. "No. Guy know how to use basic ninjutsu. But because of his philosophy of hard work and perseverance, he just wanted to climb solely using Taijutsu"

The revelation left the surrounding Genin stunned. Obito, however, couldn't help but admire Guy's determination. "Even if that's true, he's incredible. To rely solely on taijutsu and still fight at this level…"

Kaneharu nodded. "That's why you should warn your friend to surrender. Guy's strength is overwhelming. If Shisui gets hit directly…"

Her voice trailed off, but her concern was evident.

Despite her warning, Obito and Rin didn't seem worried. Rin smiled warmly and replied, "Thank you for the advice, but Shisui never gives up."

"Still, he's in real danger!" Kurenai Yuhi, standing nearby, spoke up, her voice filled with unease. She glanced at Asuma, who was watching intently.

"Does that boy look desperate to you?" Asuma asked, his tone calm.

Kurenai blinked in surprise and focused on Shisui. Despite being pushed back, there was no fear in his expression. Instead, there was a quiet determination.

Guy seemed to notice it too. Pausing momentarily, he said, "If you keep running, you'll only lose. Fight back!"

Shisui smirked, his Sharingan glinting. "Your taijutsu is impressive. I wouldn't dare face it head-on."

Guy's eyes narrowed. "You're holding something back, aren't you?"

In response, Shisui reached for the short sword strapped to his back and unsheathed it for the first time. The audience murmured in confusion. Even Obito and Rin exchanged puzzled looks.

"What's he planning to do with that sword?" Rin whispered.

Guy remained unfazed. "A weapon won't help you," he said confidently. "My strength can break any blade."

But Shisui's smile didn't waver. Holding the sword horizontally, he began forming a hand seal with his free hand.

In the blink of an eye, a flash of black light enveloped the blade.

Guy's eyes widened. "What…?"

Before he could react, Shisui disappeared.
