The Narrow Mindded Views of Those at War

"Now if you want me to be able to save your people from the cyborgs before their flesh becomes useful to them you will need to play along with what I am going to do when we leave this ship." I told her as the door started to open in front of us.

She did not respond to my statement. I saw her walk up beside me on my right side and remain silent instead.

As I walked out of the ship, I was greeted by a group of the Warrior Caste. They all had on a set of white armor just like the warrior that had used my head as a stepping stool before my Klitron.

"Our special guest has arrived. Everyone! stand in parade formation!" I heard a commanding male voice say as the ramp out of the ship slid down onto the floor.

The warriors then all lined up in two files, and while I started to walk out of the ship, I could tell that while some of them were afraid of me there were a few of them that gave me death stares as I walked by them.

"Everyone you will stand at attention while you are in the presence of a member of the Healer Caste!" the officer of the group that greeted me exclaimed.

After he said his command, all the warriors stood at attention, and they no longer reacted to me in any way.

The man who had just given the order stepped in front of me. He was wearing the same kind of armor as the rest of the men except for the two dark blue bars and one silver bar that were placed on the right side of the chest area of his armor.

"I am here to greet you by the order of Admiral Roncove. We are very glad to be of use to a member of such a high ranked caste in their time of need." He said to me as I saw him kneel at me.

During my most recent years I had almost entirely forgotten that I was part of an elite caste because of how my squad had acted so nicely to me; besides William who has been treating me so rudely at every possible moment that he was able to.

"Do forgive me for skipping all the formalities, but I must meet the ship's admiral and discuss something that I will need his help saving the members of my strike force as well as the Vordonian civilians that have just lost their world." I told him as I walked towards him until I passed him.

"Yes, let me guide you through our ship to the bridge where he is coordinating the battle against the cyborgs." He said to me as he rose to his feet and started to walk towards the end of the loading bay.

As I walked behind him, the female Vordonian youth stayed beside me. I knew that she was most likely worried about what the other humans were going to do to her if she was ever alone on the ship.

The loading dock was very active, with there being a large crew of engineers that were repairing both fighters that had entered the ship with me.

Right behind them, I saw a group of six drones with circular tops that went about one foot off the ground. On the backs of the drones, they each had a pair of glass containers that had bubbling chemicals inside. The left container had white chemicals, and the right one had red chemicals in it. I thought that they were meant to be used as cleaning drones, or the chemicals could be used to remove the scraps of metal and debris that the ships received from battle.

Then I walked past the drones and saw that the leader of the men that I was following was waiting for me at the end of the hallway that I had just about to enter.

I made my way to the end of the hallway and followed him into the elevator that was in front of him.

"Location please" I heard a female ai voice said as we all entered the elevator.

"Ship Bridge please". The leader said to the ai

As soon as he spoke, the door of the elevator closed shut, and it started to move, taking me up to a higher level of the ship.

"Bridge reached" the female ai voice said as the elevator stopped moving.

When the elevator stopped moving, the door slid open, and I was greeted by a set of blue lights in a dark room.

This room had two clear levels to it. the bottom level of the room was in the shape of a semi-circle with people stationed in front of different computer terminals. On the upper level that I was currently on, I saw that there was a massive square table that had a massive holographic projection of the current battle on it.

In front of the holographic projection, I saw a tall male human who had a full set of short white hair. He also had a full beard that matched his hair color. I saw that he wore a black vest and pants instead of battle armor. He had on five blue bars, two white ones, and a single red one. This must be the admiral of this ship.

"What are you doing inside my bridge during an active conflict, Sargent?" the admiral said to the man that was guiding me to the bridge.

"Sir I have brought you someone who is part of the team that called for our help." He said as he put his left fist over the right side of his chest. This must have been some kind of salute.

"Who thinks that what they say has enough importance to interrupt me during an active battle?" he asked as he turned around and ignored that I was even there.

As he spoke those words, I felt a sudden rush of anger at what he had said. To let him know the truth that what he said was to a human of a superior caste than him.

"If you must know admiral, that person that he was letting onto your bridge that you are observing an active battle is I." I told him in a slightly deeper tone as I walked to where he was standing.

When I stepped up and I was only a few steps behind him, he turned around to look at me.

"Why would I even want to listen to someone who is just a member of some random strike team that barely anyone impertinent has never heard of?"

I did not have the time to run circles with this man. If I was going to save the people that I wanted to, I would have to end this argument as soon as possible.

"The reason that you will listen to me is very simple. I am a member of the healer caste, so I outrank you in all things where rank matter". I said in my commanding tone as I got up in his face.

"You are a member of the healer caste!" the admiral exclaimed in a tone that told me that he was afraid of what I might possibly do to him now that I had revealed my rank in our caste system.

He fell backward and almost completely lost his balance as he got backed into the table that had the holographic display screen of the battle that was going on outside of the ship.

"I do apologize for how rudely I was acting towards you at first sir". He said as he rose to his feet and bowed to me.

"Whatever you say. Now I need you to gather me a massive group of soldiers that I will lead to the enemy vessel so that we can save both the members of my strike force as well as the Vordonian survivors."

"I do apologize about what I am about to suggest, but why would we even spare a single person of this vessel to save anyone of the Vordonian race. If we allow the cyborgs to have their way with them, that will be one less enemy to get in the way of our military might."

"Are you telling me that you do not see any other way to handle our current conflict with the Vordonian Empire is by extermination?" I asked him as I looked into his eyes to see how much conviction he had behind his words.

When I looked deep into his eyes, I was able to see that he had a fire behind them that was not going to burn out anytime soon.

"Yes, the only true option with this race is extermination. If they are allowed to survive, then we will die due to our lower grade of technology". He said as he started to turn away from.

Before he could fully turn his back to me, I hit him with a swift right hook, and that knocked him to the lower level of the bridge.

As his body contacted the floor, I saw a small amount of blood leave his head. Everyone who was in their computer stations turned their head and looked at what was currently going on behind them.

I jumped down and pinned him to the floor as he was trying to rise despite the pain and blood loss that he was clearly having from his head. He stopped moving as I put his legs into a lock that made it to where he could no longer move the bottom half of his body.

"Since I have you pinned to the floor, I will have to tell you something. There is more than one way to solve an active war between two races. I will be taking a team to save The Vordonians and the members of my strike force at any cost.

Unlike you, I can not just be happy with exterminating all of those that are above me in a war. I even have a female Vordonian with me. Are you saying that you would be happy with exterminating her right here in front of me?" I asked him as I maintained my pressure on his legs.

"Yes, I would. their race needs to be removed from the equation of this war at any cost".

"If that is how you think, then so be it". I said as I punched him in the face and knocked him out.

As soon as I knocked him out, I noticed that every one of the workers turned back around and started to ignore me as if they were afraid of me now.

It has always annoyed me how some Terrans think that extermination is the only way to solve conflict. That is why I am going to have to take control of this mission. If I did not, my team and the Vordonians that we were about to make peace with will die, and I could not allow that to happen at any cost.
