CHAPTER 1

Night was fast approaching in the lands of Wittleland. People were busy preparing their dinner and smoke could be seen rising from different huts in different parts of the village. Older children were helping their mothers in cooking while the younger ones were trying hard not to sleep.

The weather was warm showing no signs of raining. The villagers were happy since there was no reason to worry because what could worry them when the witches had been removed from the lands of Wittleland?

Even though everyone was smiling, it could not be said the same in one of the huts located in the southern part of the village.

Inside one particular hut was a woman sitting on a mat on the furthest part of the hut while caressing her big baby bump. She was expecting to deliver very soon and that was enough to bring fear in her heart.

Usually when an expecting woman was about to to give birth she is always happy but the same could not be said about her.

She was worried and she to keep her child and prevent child birth but that was all wishful thinking.

"Susan, stop worrying," a man's voice could be heard not very far from where Susan the expecting woman sat .

" I cannot stop worrying Robert, every passing day I dread and fear to see I will soon give birth and who knows if we will be able to see her grow." Susan said while a lone tear fell down.

"Don't worry, everything will go well,, let's just hope and have faith that our child will be safe" assured the man who was her husband.

Robert did not know whether he was encouraging himself or his wife, Susan.

"Mother, father, the food is ready." A young boy named Frank there son informed them .

The family had their dinner and went to sleep. The entire village of Wittleland was quiet since the people had retired to their beds after e very long day of working.
