Chapter 11

One day a soiree was being held in one of the council member's house. Both the queen and the king were invited in which they had to attend. King Malcom hated attending such gatherings but he had no other option. As a king he also had an image to maintain.

Queen Marsha on the other hand was not happy. If it was any other day she would have been happy but this particular day something was amiss. His son needed his attention but she promised to keep him company the following day.

" My queen you look beautiful as always." Klara her personal maid praised her while finishing up. It was very unlikely for the queen to not be happy attending a soiree. Or was it a facade. Sometimes it was hard to explain anything about the queen.

It was evident that the queen always appeared lonely and always kept to herself. The king was always busy while the prince was sick making the queen to stay by herself. The other ladies pretended to be happy in front of her but she knew better not to trust them.

Other ladies of high society envied her because she came from a low society before she was married to the king. People wondered why the king married a woman who was not rich and beautiful. All these were known by the queen but she tried to be polite towards others. After all kindness was her nature. But one thing was clear,,she had to keep her lane otherwise who knew what people were planning against her??

"Thank you Klara. I have a request please ensure that the prince is okay. I will meet him tomorrow." The queen requested knowing well that her son was not going to ask for her. The prince was well aware that his parents were busy and he was just like a dead body.

When king Malcom and his wife were done they left with their carriage.

The servant continued with their work as usual. Whether the queen was around or not,, work went on.

Sophia who was bored staying alone decided to wander. She went on the other side of the palace where she had never been to before. With small but steady steps she walked in which she enjoyed this side of the Palace which was quiet. The palace was big enough to accommodate three if not two mansions. It was painted white and the light illuminating from the candles emphasized it's beauty .

She had stepped far away from the sight of Ana without realising. Deciding it was better to go back she planned to go back but she changed her direction when she heard someone crying. If her memory served her right there was no child in this palace,, then where was that sound coming from??and who was it??

Following the sound,, Sophia came to stop in one of the rooms with the door slightly closed. Opening the door she walked in to see a young boy who appeared weak and lean was lying on the big bed while crying. Surveying the room,,she noticed that the room was spacious and beautiful. Unlike where she was sleeping this room was bigger than their hut back at home.

Without realising that this was the prince's room Sophia enjoyed the view.

Noticing someone in the room the prince stopped crying. He was crying not because he missed his parents but because of the unbearable pain. He would have continued crying but it felt like the pain pain had vanished.

He managed to sit on the bed and stared at the girl. Not hearing the sound of the person crying the young girl turned around to see a young boy looking at him. Walking towards him she stretched her hand which the prince did not understand her action.

" I am Victoria. I heard you crying and that's why I came here. What is your name?" To this the prince smiled.

" I am Aiden." It was the first time he was seeing someone trying to talk to him with no bad intention. " Come and sit here." He patted the side of his bed.

Victoria sat and they began talking like friends. It felt nice talking to someone thought the prince.

" Your room is beautiful but I think you should put white flowers near the window." Victoria suggested which earned a nod from the prince.

" Why not bring those flowers and place them there?" Questioned the prince.

" I will try my best. "

" So are we friends?" Making puppy eyes the prince expected a yes from the girl which she gladly accepted.

Victoria asked the prince to ask for some flowers from Benson who was a kind hearted man. The prince promised to do so in the morning.

Seeing the prince yawn Victoria decided to let him sleep as he was not strong enough. Bidding him goodbye she left.

Aiden fell asleep with no pain making him sleep peacefully that night. He was glad to have a friend.
