Vercheg- Home to the 7 Elements Headquarters

Vercheg was a space colony with platforms full of buildings surrounding a floating fortress which was the 7 Elements headquarters.

"They said that they're going to announce our new captain today. Who do you think it is? Do you think it's me?" "Fire" said to "Water" and "Earth".

"It couldn't be you. They said that they're bringing him here today. If It was you, you'd already know it. Plus the only real options from our team is either "Wind" or "Earth" "Water" said.

"Eh, don't say those things so bluntly." "Fire" said his excitement dampened."Although, since "Earth" is here doesn't that mean?"

"It's not me." "Wind" said answering the question "Fire" was about to ask as he walked into the room. "The more important question; however, is why are we all still alive?"

"Wind" brought up the uncomfortable question that the others had been trying to avoid. Upon their arrival in Vercheg, the remaining members of the 7 Elements were told by High Command that their executions would be imminent.

According to High Command, they had brought an unprecedented amount of shame to the Empire. The Celestial Empire had maintained a reputation for being unbeatable and untouchable. Any failure no matter how minuscule, could not be tolerated.

"Despite what High Command said we're all still alive and apparently our executions have been canceled. It doesn't make any sense, High Command isn't known for their leniency." "Wind" continued.

"Eh, you're worrying too much "Wind" they probably just remembered how great we are and let us off the hook. Anyway you guys don't think that it's one of THOSE guys do you ?" "Fire" said.

"That's unlikely, I doubt that they would want an absentee captain running this unit So "Light" and "Darkness" are probably not candidates to be our new leader." "Earth" said.

"That being said I believe we are about to find out." "Earth" said while motioning towards the door where a man was standing. This man was an Imperial bureaucrat named Sai Haru Mei. Sai Hari Mei was a slim man with pale skin and white hair, he had bags around his eyes likely from overwork.

"Good morning gentlemen, I have been given the task of introducing you to your new captain." Sai said.

"Before that Sai, I would like to know the reason why our executions were called off." "Wind" replied.

"Yes about that, I believe that you Should discuss it with your new captain. I hear he was the one responsible for rescinding the execution order." Sai replied.

"Wind" couldn't believe what he heard.

"The only person with the authority to overrule a decision by High Command is the Emperor himself. I doubt the Emperor, who never even appears in public, would appoint himself our captain." "Wind" thought to himself.

"Therefore, the only explanation would be that the Emperor granted that authority to someone. The question is, who would have the ability to get that kind of favor from the Emperor? Nobody comes to mind."

"Without further ado, allow me to introduce your new captain." Sai continued.
