Chapter 9: A Battle On Land and Sea
"Let's get this thing started!" Huzo shouted as he rushed "Earth"
drawing his sword and slashing at him.
"Earth" blocked the sword with his arm and the impact caused a Shockwave throughout the arena.
"Ohho, that's a nice blow. I'd better do my best or I'll be in trouble." "Earth" said.
ROCK WALL CRASH !!!!
An earthen wall shot out of the ground and rushed towards Huzo, who then sunk into the ground and swam quickly towards "Earth" and slashed him again.
Huzo's ability Land Shark allows him to pass through solid ground as if it was water.
As "Earth" sent more and more attacks at him he would simply swim through the earthen attacks.
As he passed through "Earth's" attacks, Huzo kept slashing him with his sword. Eventually "Earth" became unable to block these attacks and started getting pushed back.
"Looks like it's a bit of a bad match up for "Earth" "War" said.
"Yes but "Earth" is strong, you don't need to worry about him." "Wind" replied.
"I never said I was worried, I know he still hasn't shown his full power."
"Speaking of which, why does that guy always hold back so much?"
"War" asked.
"It's hard to say, but more or less I think it's just a part of his nature. He's a kind man who doesn't like to hurt people. Generally he always try's to win with the least amount of force possible."
"Wind" responded.
"Earth's" attacks kept getting nullified by Huzo's ability. The ground started to rise all around the arena but Huzo swam right through it.
"Hmm, you seem to be giving me a bit of trouble." "Earth" said. Let's try this one next."
ROCK SPIKE PIT!!!
Rockspikes Shot out of the raised ground and converged towards Huzo.
"Now it seems like I'm in trouble." Huzo said.
LAND WAVE!!!!!
Huzo grabbed the ground beneath him and threw it at the spikes creating a sort of tsunami with the ground, completely destroying "Earth's" attack. "Earth" made the ground around Huzo rise again completely surrounding him.
"Haven't you figured out that this won't work against me already?" Huzo asked.
This time instead of attacking with the ground, "Earth" himself broke through the walls and attacked with a punch that sent Huzo crashing into the arena walls and made him cough up blood.
"I don't like making my opponent suffer I'll finish you off with the next attack, but I wanted to give you an opportunity to surrender first." "Earth" said.
"What are you talking about you fool! Give up? You're going to finish me off? You must be out of your mind! If you think I'm just going to roll over and die you're going to be pretty disappointed!" Huzo shouted.
"I might be a delinquent and a criminal, but before all that. I'M A WARRIOR!!!!" Huzo continued.
Huzo got up and rushed "Earth" one more time.
"I see, how insensitive of me I apologize for underestimating your resolve." "Earth" replied
As Huzo charged in "Earth" caught his sword and shattered it. He then chopped Huzo's neck breaking it, and his lifeless corpse fell to the ground.
"Wow, that was a fun fight. He couldn't win using his ability so he just used physical attacks and still won that's impressive." "War" said.
"He could have won using his ability he just never got serious." "Wind" replied.
"Oh really? Speaking of there's the man of the hour." "War" said pointing toward the door where
"Earth" was walking in.
"Hey big guy nice match!" He said while reaching up to slap "Earth" on the shoulder.
"One more thing real quick. I'm sure I'm not telling you anything you don't already know, and I'm not asking you to change the way you fight. But you shouldn't trample on the resolve of a warrior the way you do. The honorable thing to do in a dual is give it your all. That's the least you can do for someone trying to defend their home." "War" said while the cheerful and celebratory tone of his voice changed to something more serious.
"I certainly understand what you're saying "War", but I have my own code of chivalry and my own reason for fighting the way I do. Would you mind if we just leave it at that for now?" "Earth" said in an apologetic tone.
"As long as you're living according to your way of chivalry I can't complain even if it is slightly different than mine.
"War" said "Congratulations again buddy."
"War" gave "Earth" another pat on the back and walked towards "Fire".
"You're up next pal, have a great match!" He said this time slapping
"Fire" on the shoulders.
"Don't touch me! And don't tell me what to do!" "Fire" replied.
"So you plan on having a bad match? "War" asked.
"N-no. Yes! S-Shut up!" "Fire" said before running out of the room.
"Ahaha! What a funny guy!" "War" said while laughing.
"Yes, he is a bit peculiar." "Wind" replied.
"Now introducing out of the eastern corner, standing 5 feet 7 and uh 3/8 inches tall, weighing in at 185 Ibs, he has a record of 989 wins with zero losses, it's.... "FIRE"!!!!!
"Now for his opponent out of the western corner, he stands at 5 feet
