Chapter 55: Bad Data

"War" was now face to face with the mastermind of this brutal rebellion, Dr. Branx. Dr. Branx had been a leading scientist within the Empire for decades. He was the man responsible for a large share of the technology currently used by imperial forces. But now for whatever reason, he has decided to reek chaos and destruction across the Empire.

Dr. Franz Branx

Age: 131

Ht: 5'6

Wt: 120 lbs

Special Ability: Machine Maker

"As you can see, I'm not a fighter." The old shriveled Dr. Branx said as he put up his hands. "Perhaps we should talk instead of fighting?"

"Well I don't think I'd be any fun to beat up an old man. Though I doubt I'd be anymore enjoyable to talk with you." "War" said bluntly.

"Nor do I believe I would enjoy a conversation with a brute such as yourself. But still I think a discussion between us would be necessary." Dr. Branx said while pouring himself a drink.

"You aren't just trying stall for time, are you old man?" "War" asked.

"Of course I am, though that doesn't change the fact that we need to talk." Dr. Branx replied then took a sip of his drink. "Do you know how long I've been doing this for? No, I'm sure you don't. And I'm sure that you don't care to hear me ramble on about my past. But I'll tell you this, it's been over a century since I started working for the Empire and I've seen all manner of atrocities, things that I'll never forget as long as I live."

"I can no longer stand for my research to be used by the Empire in such barbarous ways. I've heard stories of you. They say that you're an honorable man. I've even heard that you are planning to rebel against the Empire yourself. If we work together we can break the yoke of this corrupt Empire! What do you say to that?" Dr. Branx said as he extended his hand towards "War", to which "War" swatted his hand away.

"I hope that you don't forget the part you played in those atrocities. I've heard some stories about you. Experimenting on children, developing terrible biological weapons, and dissecting people while they were still alive. That's not even including the carnage that you've caused this time around, so you can drop the tragic hero act. I'd never work with you in a million years." "War" replied.

"Hmph! Do you think you're better than me boy? What about the blood on your own hands? You've conquered hundreds of planets for the Empire and killed many in the process. How is that any different from me?" Dr. Branx asked.

"There's light years of difference between slaying an opponent in an honorable dual during battle and what you've done. My it'd be pointless to explain it to an old piece of trash like you. Now I've had enough of you trying to waste time. You can either leave with me willingly or I'll drag you out by force." "War" said.

"Hmm, you seem to be forgetting the third option." Dr. Branx said while clicking some buttons on the display next to him.

"And what would that be?" "War" asked disinterested in playing whatever game the professor had in store.

"I've just rigged a bomb that had the same destructive potential as an exploding star. This entire galaxy and the galaxies around it will be destroyed. I was hoping to take this bomb to the capital itself, but I'd be satisfied to use it here if it meant taking you out with me." Dr. Branx said. "Of course, I'd consider disarming it if you retreat your forces."

"And let you use your machines to slaughter the innocent. No way. If you don't disarm that device I'll just kill you and take care of that bomb myself." "War" said sternly.

"I'm sure I don't know how you plan to take care of that bomb, but I have certain contingencies in place." Dr. Branx said as he pressed a button causing a large metal dome to cover his body.

When the dome rose back up again the professor was now clad in a massive mechanical suit. "You don't have a chance against me now! Even if you somehow managed to disarm the bomb you can't hope to defeat me while wearing this suit. I've analyzed all of your battles two years ago and I've determined that this suit's capabilities exceed yours." He said.

Blowgun Form: Breath Missile!!!!

"Ha! You fool! My data shows that attack is one of your weakest. It won't even make a dent in my armor!" The professor said with a maniacal laugh.

When "War's" attack hit the suit it completely blew it apart, and shattered it into pieces. The professor laid in the broken pieces of the suit and looked down in shock. "H-How, How did you do that? That attack shouldn't have had nearly enough power to damage my suit! So what happened?"

"What happened was you had some bad data. Your calculations were based on my power level from two years ago. I'm lightyears apart from where I was then" "War" said.

"That's impossible. How could you have gotten so much stronger in only two years? According to my analysis, it shouldn't have been possible for you to gain this much power even if you had 200 years." Dr. Branx said.

"I must have been working harder than you expected I guess." "War" said shrugging his shoulders. "Now I'm taking you into custody old man."

"Ha! I'll admit that I didn't expect you to destroy my suit so effortlessly, but you still have the bomb to deal with." Dr. Branx said. "And my suit's destruction just triggered its detonation!" Then suddenly a click sounded off and the bomb exploded in the next instant.

"Oh crap!" "War" shouted as he was caught in the explosion.
