'10 years later'
A lot had changed since the day you "accidentally" killed your father. The memory of that tragic moment haunted you like a ghost, your mother disappeared when you woke up,you were put to the orphanage and you were "bullied",well it's not really bullying when you dodge everything they throw at you,yes you have superpower you can perceived things slower when you're sensing danger towards you, it's like an instinct. You discovered this when one of the kids tried to bullied you because you're a newcomer, six of them tried to gang up on you but unsuccessful, you are dodging everything.
"How am I doing this?" you thought, a mix of disbelief and exhilaration coursing through your veins. Each dodge felt like a dance, a choreography of survival, as you twisted and turned, evading their attempts with fluid grace. Your body moved instinctively, guided by a primal awareness that seemed to come from deep within.
"What?!How is he doing that?!" The fat kid says.
"Who cares just grab him!!" Says the one who seems their leader.
"But we can't even touch him!" Says the tall kid.
You're about to throw a punch, but you stop mid punch remembering what happened to your father, you feared that it might happen again, you were caught off guard and the tall kid land a punch in your face...but,you didn't feel a thing "ARHHGGGggg" you heard screaming, yup you broke his hand by doing nothing, the other kids were shock and terrified.Since then you were called a freak, and all the kids are getting away from you when you try to get close to them, your smile fade away,oh yeah and you were punished for breaking the hand of the tall kid even though you didn't do a thing, you tried to explain yourself but they didn't care they wanted someone to blame and you were the perfect person for that. The world is cruel, unfair,it has a favorite and you're not one of them.
'Present time'
As you lose yourself in the memories of the past, the weight of everything you've been through pulls you down. The loneliness, the fear, the isolation—it all feels so distant yet painfully close. Then, cutting through the fog, you hear a familiar voice.
"Hey! Aiden!"
You blink, pulled back to the present, and see Jonn approaching. He waves, a big grin on his face. Jonn—the friend you met during your freshman year, the one who somehow made things feel a little brighter. A nerd who's obsessed with collecting bugs, of all things. You remember how strange it seemed at first, but his enthusiasm was contagious.
In that moment, a bittersweet nostalgia hits you. Despite everything, Jonn became your friend, the first real friend in a long time. Maybe the only one who didn't look at you like a freak.
"Hey, Aiden, what's the plan for your birthday?" Jonn asks, his voice breaking through your thoughts.
You pause, surprised. *Birthday?* Oh right, it's today. You had forgotten. "Oh... yeah," you mutter to yourself. "It's not like there's anything special about it. Just another day, nothing to celebrate."
"Nothing planned," you shrug. "I'll probably just head to my usual spot and read some comics."
Jonn's eyes widen in disbelief. "What?! No way, man! It's your 21st birthday!" Before you can respond, he grabs your arm, a wide grin spreading across his face.
"Wha—?" you stammer, but Jonn's already pulling you, practically dragging you along as he runs ahead, determined. You can't help but smile a little as he pulls you out of your quiet world.
(You both arrived to what seems an... Arcade?)
"What are we doing here?" you ask, glancing around, unsure.
Jonn grins mischievously. "What else? We're here to have some fun, obviously."
You raise an eyebrow, chuckling. "You? Fun? Since when?"
Jonn narrows his eyes playfully. "Hey, I might be a nerd who collects bugs, but I *do* know how to have fun… occasionally." He winks and pulls you forward, dragging you inside before you can protest further.
Inside it seems that there isn't much people around,You both explore the arcade,Trash talking each other gaming plays, distracting and sometimes out playing him by using your superpowers.Yeah you're a sore loser when it comes to playing games, when you both are exhausted challenging each other, you realize that it's already late.
You glance at the time. "Oh crap, is it that late already?"
"Jonn, aren't you supposed to be home by before sunset?" you ask, raising an eyebrow.
His eyes widen in panic. "What?! Why didn't you remind me?!"
You laugh. "How was I supposed to know? We were playing nonstop."
You both pause, then burst out laughing.
"I've gotta run. Lots to do," Jonn says, heading for the door.
"Hey, Jonn... I had fun today. Thanks," you call out, smiling—a genuine smile, maybe the first in a long time.
He grins back. "No problem! Let's do it again." And just like that, he's gone, leaving you alone once more.
---
Walking home as the sun dipped below the horizon, you were lost in thought and barely noticed the sky beginning to light up. Glancing up, you saw meteors streaking across the darkening canvas. Confused, you paused for a moment, the vibrant colors of sunset contrasting with the sudden flashes. Shrugging it off, you continued toward your dorm, dismissing it as a trick of the light.
---
Little did you know, those meteors would change everything—this is what you wanted, right? For your life to be something *more* than ordinary.
As the meteors scatter across the world, one hurtles straight toward Jonn's house.
(At Jonn house, before the meteor falls).
"Jonn! Did you do the laundry?" his Aunt Sheryl calls out.
"I'm on it, Auntie!" he replies, folding the last load.
"Great! And can you do the dishes after?" she adds.
"Got it!" Jonn says with a sigh, heading toward the kitchen once the laundry's done.
"Auntie? Where are you?" Jonn calls out, but finds a note on the couch. She had to leave for an urgent work call. Shrugging, he heads for the kitchen—until the ground shakes violently. A blinding light floods through the window.
**"BOOM!"** The house disintegrates in an explosive burst as a meteor crashes down, leaving nothing but a smoldering heap of rubble. In the chaos, Jonn barely manages to escape, collapsing to the ground just yards away. He lies unconscious, bathed in the eerie glow of the meteor, which shimmers with the deep colors of the cosmos—blues, purples, and specks of starlight swirling within.
As the meteor's potent energy radiates around him, it begins to seep into his very being, enveloping him in a brilliant aura. Suddenly, his body lifts off the ground, suspended in midair, as if the universe itself has claimed him. His eyes snap open, now a blazing white, reflecting the raw power surging through him, igniting an untamed force that was waiting to awaken.
He crashes to the ground as the energy fades.
'The next day'
"This just in—chaos has erupted in the city. Buildings are in ruins, and emergency services are overwhelmed. Police are struggling to contain the individual responsible, but so far, nothing is working."
The reporter's voice trembles slightly as the camera shakes. "It appears the suspect possesses elemental powers—wind, fire, water, and earth are all at his command. It's unclear if he has control over other elements as well."
Suddenly, a loud explosion cuts through the air. "BOOM!" The feed goes to static as the camera tilts wildly, the reporter's final words drowned by the destruction caused by the elemental attacker tearing through the city.
'At your dorm.'
You're sleeping soundly... until your alarm blares. *TRRRTT-TRTTTT-TTRRRT!* Groaning, you get up, dragging yourself out of bed and getting ready for another day of college.
But as you step outside, you freeze. The city is in ruins. "Wha—what the hell? Am I dreaming?" you mutter, eyes wide. Debris litters the streets, smoke rises from shattered buildings.
Then, out of the corner of your eye, a figure speeds toward you. Instinctively, thanks to your enhanced reflexes, you dodge just as a fist slams into the wall beside you, shattering concrete.
"You're like us, huh?" the figure says, turning to face you. It's a woman, eyes fierce.
"Did you do all this?" you ask, still trying to process the chaos.
"No," she replies, her gaze shifting. "He did." You follow her eyes to see someone hovering above the wreckage, silent but menacing. Without warning, he hurls a massive fireball at you. You dive out of the way, barely avoiding the flames, but the woman attacks right after, trying to catch you off guard.
You dodge again, weaving through fireballs and punches, your body reacting faster than your mind can keep up. But you're tiring. Your breath comes in short gasps—there's only so long you can keep this up.
No choice. You have to fight.
You throw a punch, connecting with the woman's chest. The force sends her crashing into a nearby building, leaving her barely able to stand, her strength fading after just one hit.
"It seems I'll have to stop holding back," the man says, his eyes gleaming as he unleashes every element at his disposal. A gust of wind slams into you, but you don't flinch, your body rooted like stone. Fireballs follow, streaking through the air. You hardly notice the wall of earth forming behind you until it's too late.
*BOOM!*
The impact shakes the ground, flames licking at your skin. Your shirt is torn to shreds, the fabric still smoldering, but the fire... it doesn't harm you. Your body, invulnerable so far, stands unfazed.
"DAMN IT!" you growl, eyes locked on the man hovering above. "Now you've done it. Come down here and face me like a real fighter!"
The man's laughter echoes down, cold and mocking. "Why would I do that? This height is my advantage. You can't touch me up here."
Frustration surges through you. He's right. You're strong—invulnerable even—but your strength is useless if you can't reach him. And slowing down time to dodge his attacks won't help if you can't land a hit.
For a brief moment, you feel cornered. Trapped.
Then, you hear it—a voice you haven't heard since you were a boy.
"PROGRAM INITIATION...DONE."
"YOU CAN NOW USE YOUR FULL CAPABILITIES".
