Chapter 3: Ascent the Summit

It took Dao Wei a whole day to reach the top of the summit of the mountain. Instead of entering the Cave, Dao Wei decided to first restore his spent Qi and organize the precepts he had comprehended while ascending.

It would be great if he could arrange them and absorb them into his own Sea of Qi.

Sitting cross-legged, Dao Wei operated the Primordial Chaos Scripture level 5. His Nascent Soul hovered above the Sea of Qi like a godly figure. It bore a striking resemblance to Dao Wei. His Nascent Soul had undergone extreme changes as it now looked stable and solidified instead of a ghastly figure.

"It seems like I'll make a breakthrough to level 6 of the Primordial Chaos Scripture," Dao Wei was excited to see the changes in his body.

However, that was just the tip of the iceberg. He had reached the peak of Early Stage Nascent Soul. His rules of Sword, Palm, Space, and Time had also expanded, each as wide as a river. The Sword and Palm rules also increased vastly.

If Dao Wei were to add the precepts into his techniques, he'd unleash a power four times stronger.

The Space and Time precepts were the most mysterious, as the precepts had merged with the rules and become one. The Time-and-Space rule now had a figure that resembled Dao Wei but was sort of Void.

"Second Soul?" Dao Wei was taken aback by his realization. Although the Time-Space Soul was not fully condensed, he was sure he could condense it just like his Nascent Soul.

"Okay, let's try merging the other two Rules into Souls as well," Dao Wei was super excited and began right away to cultivate his two more Souls of the Sword and Palm.

This was a rare opportunity Dao Wei got as one would need to at least reach Late Stage Nascent Spirit to condense his soul into distinguishable figures.

Ambient Qi rushed into Dao Wei's body through the 144 acupoints.

He sat there like a dead person as he continued to condense his Rule Souls.

His Martial Soul rushed out of him and stood behind him with an imposing aura. It already had the aura of a Peak Saint. It also absorbed ambient Qi crazily like a gluttonous demon, stabilizing and becoming more stable and strong.

The news of the massacre in Qingling village was yet to spread, but Dao Wei was not worried about that as he continued his cultivation.

Hours passed as he immersed himself in deep focus, clearing his mind and achieving full concentration. He began merging the Saintly rules with the precepts he had comprehended.

Rumble!

The Palm Rule began to take shape, and in an instant, it also flew out of him, standing on his side. It looked like a thousand-hand Buddha God, holding a golden staff. Its aura was so intimidating that the savage beasts within a thousand miles all felt the pressure.

The Golden Rod had intricate carvings with dragons coiling around it.

The villagers all turned their attention to the mountain as they could feel the strong aura emanating from there.

"I hope the young master is safe," a young beautiful girl in an azure robe spoke as her gaze was fixed on the mountain. She was there when Dao Wei showed his exceptional combat skills and she has since admired him.

The villagers began to pray and hope for their savior to be alright.

Meanwhile, the Sword Rules also condensed and flew out of Dao Wei. Three imposing figures stood around him, their aura burning and intimidating.

"I've finally condensed three Martial Souls. I must be the only one." Dao Wei laughed out loud at his accomplishment. However, no matter how hard he tried, his Time-Space soul did not change.

"Did I do something wrong?" Dao Wei wondered what the problem might have been.

However, he was content with the three souls he had condensed and thus decided to proceed with his task of obtaining the Dragon's Legacy.

Before he could make up his mind, Dao Wei heard a voice coming from deep within the Cave, "You actually have three martial souls, haha." The voice was deep and imposing.

A blinding light enveloped Dao Wei and he had to close his eyes. The moment he opened his eyes, he was in a completely different place. It looked like he was in a completely different world.

Dao Wei was mesmerized by the serene place. He was in some sort of a hall, golden Buddha statues lined each side, each with a golden dragon coiling around it.

"You've practiced the Buddha Palm?" a golden imposing Dragon roared as it materialized.

Dao Wei was forced to kneel by the strong force, but his strong will wouldn't allow him to kneel; those meant for greatness naturally had their pride.

"I have," Dao Wei nodded with a respectful bow.

"Haha, you really amaze me," The Dragon sneered as he saw the young man's resilience.

Swoosh!

A golden statue similar to those lining each side appeared on its palm. However, this statue was just a few inches tall. The Dragon pushed the statue into Dao Wei's Sea of Qi in a blink of an eye.

Its powers were imposing and Dao Wei quickly took his stance and tried to refine the statue.

Seeing his reaction, the Dragon was pleased and infused his remaining spiritual consciousness into Dao Wei to help him refine the Dragon Staff.

The power of the Dragon Statue tempered Dao Wei's Godly meridian, Saintly meridians, blood vessels, bones, and skin. For the next several hours, Dao Wei remained seated, his skin breaking as the power tempered him. It was as if he could burst open at any time.

"If you can make it through, you'd definitely be a force to be reckoned with," the Dragon spoke as he watched Dao Wei's willpower in amusement.

His focus then moved when he sensed some power emanating from Dao Wei. The Dragon was shocked as the power was kind of familiar to him, though very faint.

"Haha," the Dragon burst into a loud laugh as if he'd realized something, "you have the power of Chaos within you. Whether a blessing or a curse, I'll help you awaken the Chaos within you."

The Dragon used its remaining strength to channel its power into Dao Wei. Endless power surged into his Sea of Qi, and after several hours, a figure materialized in Dao Wei's Sea of Qi.

It was neither of his Martial Souls but a beautiful young girl dressed in an out-of-this-world starry robe. Dao Wei was still focused on refining the Dragon Staff and didn't realize the changes within him.

The ancient being sealed in his Sea of Qi watched him painstakingly refine the staff. She guided some of her powers and his pain subsided slowly until it was fully gone. The Dragon Statue became one with his heart, but before he could get more answers, the old dragon had already vanished due to using its remaining strength to awaken Chaos.

Dao Wei was more confused, but he had made remarkable advances in his cultivation. His Sword technique, Palm technique, and spatial techniques all advanced to peak level and he was on the verge of a breakthrough in all three techniques.

His Time-Space Soul also underwent significant changes, but he still couldn't condense it. Shifting his focus, he saw a radiant figure above his Sea of Qi and approached her, clearly confused as to what was happening.

"Who are you?" Dao Wei asked.

The girl stroked her hair before dashing into Dao Wei's arms. She cried and complained that Dao Wei only cared about his cultivation and that was why it took so long for him to wake her.

"Dao Wei, you bastard!"

Dao Wei was clearly confused as he had no idea what she was talking about.

The young girl then told him that she was the Primordial Chaos, a being that existed before time, during the beginning of the universe.

Wiping her tears, she explained that she had been sealed in his Sea of Qi probably by his parents. Dao Wei was excited and asked if she knew them but she shook her head, pointing in a direction, "But he might."

A door with massive carvings lay on the far end of his Sea of Qi. "Who is he?" Dao Wei asked.

"Origin, the Azure Dragon," Chaos explained. She told him that two of his Martial Souls were also sealed.

Dao Wei's curiosity was piqued as he listened.

"You have the Asura Martial Soul and Divine Lion Martial Soul," Chaos explained, her delicate figure strikingly beautiful.

Dao Wei wondered why his souls were sealed and how he had an Asura Martial Soul. Recalling his master's teachings, he figured there was a lot of mystery surrounding his lineage.

He decided to let it go for the time being and asked Chaos if he could unseal the Divine Lion Martial Soul. Martial Souls were vital parts of cultivators, and most sacred families had sacred Martial Souls passed through generations. However, the Divine Lion Martial Soul belonged to the Heaven Realm, which further intensified Dao Wei's confusion.

He spent the next ten hours unsealing the Divine Lion Martial Soul with Chaos. The two's bond was increasing by the moment, as if they'd known each other forever.

Chaos kept reprimanding Dao Wei for his lack of emotional understanding.

"Stupid, Dao Wei!"

After endless hours of painstaking hard work, Dao Wei operated his Martial Soul and an imposing Divine Lion appeared behind him.

The scene was holy and a beam of golden light permeated the skies. The vision was seen in all worlds as the birth of the Heavenly Divine Lion was witnessed.

An uproar in heaven ensued as they wondered who had the Martial Soul of the Royal Heavenly Emperor family. On Earth, Great Beings wondered which great being it was to cause such an uproar.

Dao Wei collected his aura and began searching around the cave, taking all the valuables. He then activated the protection rune, which protected the entire Qingling vicinity.

The rune was created in medieval times and Dao Wei seized the opportunity as he wanted to stay in Qingling for some time. Safety first, he thought.
