Chapter 4: Dragon Prince

Dao Wei decided to investigate the Cave even further. The wealth that was just in the hall was enough to make strong monks fight against each other.

"This place is a true heaven for cultivation," Dao Wei muttered to himself as he proceeded deep into the cave. His steps were fluid and moved with grace.

Suddenly... Dao Wei triggered a rune that was on the floor, a sharp pain penetrated his body and in an instant, Dao Wei was transferred to an ancient battleground.

The battle looked so real and confusion washed over Dao Wei's face. He quickly composed himself and readied himself to fight. In the battleground, the dragon clan, half-humans with dragon horns, were fighting fiercely against a demonic invasion. The Golden Dragon flew in the sky, shimmering like a bright sun. Dao Wei watched in awe; the scene before him was both alluring and terrifying.

"You've already received the Dragon's Legacy." Two pairs of eyes opened in the sky as the whole scene shifted to a different place, devoid of life. The place was dark with only a faint light from a million stars.

Dao Wei looked at the pairs of eyes, and they gave off an intimidating aura. "You don't have to go through the trials," the voice continued.

The voice then began recalling the history of the Dragons and the Dragonkin. "Over millions of years ago, dragons roamed the world, and they were the strongest beings in existence. Origin, the Azure Dragon, was their progenitor. He created the dragon clan and gave them the duties to protect the Dragon's Lair. The Dragon's Lair was the pinnacle of marvel and power among all the beings that ruled the world. Countless Saints and Supreme Saints were born there, and some even attained immortality while others ascended to godhood. It was only 500 years ago when the Mortal World experienced one of the most brutal invasions. The portals between realms were weakened, and the Shura warriors spread through like a swarm of flies, wreaking havoc and threatening to annihilate the mortal realm." The battle Dao Wei witnessed was part of this invasion.

"What happened to the dragon clan?" Dao Wei inquired since those he saw in Qingling all looked ordinary, nothing like the legendary dragon clan he witnessed in battle.

"After the fall of the Golden Dragon, a curse befell the dragon clan," the pair of eyes explained.

"Without a leader, the dragon clan was in chaos and divided within themselves. Those with high powers left their ancestral home and relocated to the Western Sea, where they dominate to this day. The ones that remained had to live in hiding as the curse prevented any of the dragon clan's members from attaining Sainthood."

"How can the curse be broken?" Dao Wei asked, trying to find a way for the dragon clan to protect themselves.

"Only when the chosen leader is born and attains the Dragon's Legacy will the dragon clan be revived. You have the duty to lead the next generation of the dragon clan." The pairs of eyes explained.

However, Dao Wei was not of the dragon clan. "You have the Azure Dragon within you," the pairs of eyes explained as they shimmered like a thousand stars.

"How do I revive the dragon clan?" Dao Wei inquired.

"Only by becoming the Patriarch and taking on the mantle of the Dragon Prince will you be able to fully control the Dragon's Lair, transforming it into the majesty it once was."

Dao Wei pondered for a moment as he wasn't planning on leading any faction.

The ancient dragon perceived Dao Wei's contention, "As the Dragon Prince, you can appoint someone to stand on your behalf while you pursue godhood." The voice assured.

After a moment's hesitation, Dao Wei finally gave in, "Alright," he said.

A godly power rushed into Dao Wei's body, fully rebuilding and stabilizing his body constitution.

Golden scales appeared on his body, and azure dragon horns grew from his head. His robes were changed into royal-golden attire, and his handsome features enhanced to that of a god. It was a scene straight from the movie.

The seal of Origin in his sea of Qi weakened, allowing him some connection with the Divine Origin Azure Dragon.

In his sea of Qi, Chaos was amazed by the amount of godly Qi that was refining Dao Wei's cultivation. His sea expanded another hundredfold, azure waves gushing back and forth. Dao Wei approached the sealed door in his sea of Qi. As he was about to place his hand on the intricate door, Chaos stopped him.

"Dao Wei, Origin is one of the strongest beings of all time. Are you sure you want to unseal him?" she asked, her voice melodic.

Dao Wei smiled at her, "I just want to communicate with him." And with that, Dao Wei placed his hand on the door, and a sudden burst of power enveloped him.

The Azure Dragon was majestic, imposing, and very huge. Only its gaze could annihilate planets. Dao Wei stood before Origin with a seemingly unwavering willpower. "I've been watching you, young man!" the Dragon spoke as it sized up Dao Wei.

"If not for your unyielding nature, I would never even look at you." The Dragon was prideful and looked at Dao Wei like he was an ant.

Dao Wei remained quiet as if trying to figure something out, "I also don't know much about those two people," the Dragon continued as it watched Dao Wei's expression.

"I only know that they are an abominable couple that is not supposed to exist!" The Dragon seemed annoyed when it spoke those last lines.

Dao Wei cast a look at the Dragon trying to figure out what it meant, "Don't ask me." The Dragon implored.

Dao Wei sighed, "Okay, since you don't know much about my parents, you can as well tell me why you're in my Sea?"

"Tch," the Dragon sneered, "that's all thanks to those two who captured me and sealed me in a baby." The Azure Dragon looked away as if it was annoyed.

Dao Wei wondered how strong his parents had to be to seal two of the strongest beings of all time in his sea of Qi. However, he decided to leave the mystery until he was strong enough. "I'll definitely become strong and able to be by their side," Dao Wei's voice was resolute.

He then looked up at the Dragon with a smirk on his face, "What do you want?" the Dragon asked, seemingly intimidated.

He knew the young man before him was the true Death God, and if he wanted to take its power, he wouldn't think twice.

"I want your powers," Dao Wei answered. "I want to revive the dragon clan!" he stated matter-of-factly.

Origin was taken aback. He knew Dao Wei wasn't selfish, but he never thought the young man could be so selfless that he'd abandon looking for his parents just to revive the dragon clan.

"Haha, I was right about you," the Dragon let out a menacing laugh. "Since you can now communicate with me, you can use 10% of my powers," the Dragon explained.

Dao Wei was contented with the answer. He'd only use its power when facing great danger. He smiled, and without another word, turned back and left the Azure Dragon.

"He's indeed a King," the Dragon exclaimed as he watched the young man leave.

Chaos was relieved when she noticed Dao Wei return, "Did he agree?" she asked, seemingly eager.

"Does he have a choice?" Dao Wei smirked.

Chaos' melodic laugh was contagious, "You really amaze me, Dao Wei," she exclaimed.

Dao Wei sat cross-legged in his sea of Qi and began utilizing the power he got from the ancient Dragon. As he was immersed in his cultivation, terrific changes occurred outside.

Qingling seemed to change at unprecedented speed. The dragon clan in the village had their curse lifted, and some even broke through to the Saint Realm at once.

The Dragon Mountain also transformed into a majestic Pavilion. It looked like a royal estate, with everything adorned in gold and azure.

A protective shield was erected, covering thousands of miles. Qingling was as big as a capital, but since the fall of the dragons, most of the surrounding area had been occupied by savage beasts. Only Qingling village had people, but it seemed to have expanded a thousandfold.

Streets and buildings changed, with streets lined in gold and a royal mansion erected at the altar. The villagers were awed as they kowtowed toward the Dragon Mountain, praying and praising their ancestors.

Dao Wei finished absorbing the Legacy's powers, and his body had become half-Saint. His spiritual powers had reached the Mental Acumen Realm, and he could control the Heaven and Earth powers at will. His mental powers also surged to unprecedented heights, and his willpower almost surpassed all common sense. He also made a breakthrough into the completion of Peak Early Stage Saint.

"I can now fight those at the completion of Nascent Spirit head-on," Dao Wei burst into laughter.

He was then taken back to the Dragon's Lair, which now looked nothing like it did before. The mountain had become a sanctuary. The revival of the dragon clan had fully taken shape.

Dao Wei was now convinced that he could start his own Sect here, The Sacred Dragon Sect.

Dao Wei then descended the mountain and headed back to the village. He wondered what type of changes would have occurred. He was greeted by a scene straight out of a dream; the small village was now majestic, and strong auras emanated from within. The villagers had become true half-dragons with horns and scales. They looked handsomely beautiful.

Dao Wei was taken aback by the statue of him which stood at the center of Qingling.

"Interesting," Dao Wei smiled.

Suddenly, all the villagers came to him and knelt. The elderly man from before had become a Second Tier Saint. He bowed to Dao Wei and handed him the Dragon's staff, a spear with intricate carvings, and a dragon soul.
