The Gap That Existed Between 98% and 99%

In a certain place enclosed by a moist rocky wall reflecting gentle green lights from the numerous primal seeds in the space.

Inside the space, two girls were present, one wearing raged robes and the other one simple. If White were here, he would immediately recognize the two girls in the blink of an eye.

"Ju, aren't you finished yet?" A sweet and pleasant voice containing unsettled emotion resounded. Hearing closely to the familiar-sounding voice and looking closely at the girl who spoke, it turned out to be someone who everybody knew; It was Airi!

The other girl with a somewhat cold face turned to Airi with a helpless look. She was Young Ju!

For the past few days, Airi had been saying the same thing over and over again, getting impatient from waiting.

This cave that the two of them were in was the cave they had entered to examine the continuous green light radiating from the inside and later found wired floating green balls but unknown to them at first, it turned out these numerous floating seeds were the primal seeds!

At first for a long time, they couldn't figure it out but when their token started absorbing the floating balls, they thought of the overseer's words and immediately knew of it.

Young Ju and Airi had been here for a long time after the old man; the overseer, had dropped them there for no reason at all. They were confused at first when he said to consider themselves lucky to have met him, but after they went to explore the places and found the cave that looked unnatural along with the event that happened after, they came to know about those old man's words.

Apparently, these primal seeds were supposed to be very rare but, there were a bunch of them here and they had been absorbing them from day one.

"Airi, there should be only half a day left till the trial finished. If we go out now, we may encounter danger and will be useless. I know you want to see White but waiting for the next phase to meet him is for the best," Young Ju looks at their friend with mixed feelings, "Besides, unlike yours I have only reached 40% Unity and I want to increase it more." 

"Ju…" Airi showed a guilty and difficult expression before she nodded again.

She knew she was being unreasonable but she just couldn't help it. Before, when they were absorbing the seeds she realized that increasing one's Unity brought great changes to their body, she didn't know if it was good or bad but she could see many unnatural now, and her physical strength grew very strong.

But one thing to note was that her rate of absorbing these primal seeds was very fast, to the point she left Ju behind by a huge margin. When she told her the changes, Ju seemed to turn into a fanatic and did everything in her power and without breaks to absorb the primal seeds. She somehow knew Ju's feelings but she had finished absorbing long time ago and she got bored as well as worried for her brother, waiting here. But she never thought of leaving alone and abandoning her friend.

"I'm sorry Ju, you are right." sighing, Airi apologized, she was being selfish and illogical. Its only half a day left till this trial finishes, she should just wait for that.

Young Ju only shocks her head with helplessness. Although she said that and even apologized, how long would it be before she started the same rambling? 10 minutes? 1 hour? If she had not been friends with her for a long time then. she might have thought Airi was having some head problem.

'But why was her absorption speed so fast, while mine was very slow and is even slower as time went on?' This was the thing that confused Young Ju from the beginning, but she had no one to ask and swallowed down this point.

'No, I can't waste any time now, I must at least reach 50% before the trial ends.' thinking she concentrated her mind; trying to absorb faster but bearly making any difference. The first time Airi showed she changed after reaching 50% Unity was enough to motivate her to try her hardest.

As Young Ju continued, Airi leaned like a dead person on the moist wall of the cave looking at her friend, she knew Ju was facing problems but she didn't know how to help. 'If Big Brother was here, he would definitely know a way.'

While the two were inside the cave, on the other hand, White was somewhat frowning; feeling slight shock and wonder at the level of 99% Unity.

Of course, he hadn't reached it but he had already reached the 98% Unity for some time now and the amount of primal seeds he had absorbed were also quite numerous. But the thing was he didn't feel that the percentage was anywhere close to increasing.

He had some doubt before when Golden had said about an uncertain amount to reach from the 98% to 99%, but now, he had experienced firsthand and realized that it wasn't a mere fifty or hundreds primal seeds more he had thought of, but quite more than that. This left him somehow shocked and surprised.

'It's good that this place has numerous primal seeds and doesn't seem to be exhausting anytime soon.' White was glad he decided to come to the Seed Hole or else he would be stressing out at this situation.

White looked at Golden, whose eyes just opened, feeling his glaze.

"I told you." She seemed to know what he was thinking and said indifferently.

"Indeed you told. Anyway, how far have you gone?" he curiously asked.

Golden contemplated a little, saying, "I've made only a minor achievement, it's gonna require a lot more."

Nodding, he looked at the primal seeds being absorbed into her token and noticed that there had been something strange happening to their absorption speed.

Looking at his speed that had remained consistent from the beginning, Golden absorption speed had decreased a lot compared to before! He had no idea why someone who was twice as fast as him before was somewhat twice as slow compared to him now.

Golden had also noticed this too, giving him an unnatural and contemplating look. 

Frez who was sitting not far from her and also seemed to be having trouble absorbing anymore, seemed to grow worried for some reason and glazed at his sister with a complicated look.

Suddenly, the wired atmosphere was broken as Aizu emerged from the distance, and behind her was a figure of a man; following her quietly and submissively..

Golden looked at them with an unreadable expression, she was curious as to why that girl would bring someone back instead of killing him. Was it someone she knew?

Aizu was excited looking at White who was somewhat confused,

"White I bought someone who said is your friend." Aizu, as expected, excitedly exclaimed..

White friend?

Everyone was shocked, they all turned to the man behind Aizu who looked and felt so ordinary, that it would be a compliment to say he was ordinary.

Golden was also surprised and looked carefully at the man. She didn't believe a man like White would have friends or if he had one it shouldn't be so ordinary.

While everyone was surprised and confused, the man in concern White, was the most surprised and confused of them all.

"I don't remember having a friend."

Him? Friend? That was the greatest joke he had ever heard.

Hearing the sentence from White, Aizu's countenance changed drastically, pausing, she coldly looked at the man beside her. She felt like the person completely made a fool of her.

"Wait– wait!" The man who was already unsettled and traumatized seeing the surrounding environment, freaked out even more seeing the murderous light in the beautiful girl's eyes. He hadn't caught onto anything here due to the tension he felt from the surroundings and everybody.

So, looking angrily at White, he said, "White quit your nonsensical act, we are from the same village. Just because I bullied you and made fun of you for your weakness, you are trying to get me killed here?!"

At first, he was shocked to see him in such a strong and wonderful group filled with many beautiful and godly girls, especially the one that caught most of his attention, the exceptionally beautiful golden-haired girl who almost made him lose his mind just from looking at her face.

He felt indigent the see the most useless person in his village getting lucky enough to tag himself into such a group. Why didn't that happen to him? For the past few days, he had been with the group of three men before, not to mention the fact that they treated him like trash and called him something like desolated habited, they even sometimes abused him and rarely got any primal seeds.

So, when he had experienced all that and saw White peacefully absorbing the primal seeds here, he suddenly felt anger boiling and thought, 'I will teach him a lesson the next time I see him.'

Although he was angry in his mind, on the outside he was still scared.

He had seen some battlefields with dead bodies but when he saw the mountains of crops here forming a carpet of blood and gore. He knew these people weren't ordinary and was convinced they caused the massacre here, especially after witnessing Aizu's power.

By now, his fear of this group was already the highest, and gave up the idea of scolding White anymore, for now.
