The voice traveled far and wide, making sure even the ants in the corner of the world heard it.
"I am the Grand Overseer of the trial and a Lord of The Boundaries, responsible for sending all of you to the Great World of Master!"
Great World of Masters.
As this name spread, the majority of the people had an expression of pride and happiness, some longing, and some had an expression of realization.
It was pretty obvious, the desolated people all knew by now that a world other than theirs existed somewhere, and the inhabitants called it the mainland. So when the voice announced the name of the world they could instantly piece the puzzle together.
"The mainland we are from has some names, the Great World of Master is one of them." Liss, the silvered-haired girl who was in the crowd said to Redspear, who was unsured.
She turned her head, looking to see if she could find any of her people who came together to no avail, but she didn't think of it too much, as they would all be teleported to the place they entered the trial.
Golden and White stood side by side quietly, listening to the voice. They too hadn't seen anyone they were familiar with till now, but with a similar thought to Liss, Golden just brushed it off.
The old-sounding voice continued from the skies,
"Some of you may have already caught a glimpse in the trial but the path of the master isn't easy, it is fraud with dangers and pearl that will claim your life with the slightest of mistakes, so tread it carefully."
"I hope some of you can become someone who can protect the world…" The voice finishes and disappears in the vast skies, leaving no trace of it anywhere.
Just when everyone was wondering behind the last words from the voice, the gigantic dark hole hovering in the sky trembled. It emitted massive energy fluctuations that enveloped everyone on the desolate land.
Weng!
One by one or group by group, people turns into a streak of light and were sucked into the sky, disappearing into the vast darkness of the dark hole.
"Redspear stay still and don't move too far away or you will end up in a different place than me," said Liss, her beautiful dainty snow-white hand moves to clenched at the back of his collar tightly.
Redspear only nodded and didn't complain. In fact, he was already trying to inch as close as he could get to the princess, knowing he would lose out on so many benefits if he were to be separated now. Plus, he also liked the feeling of a beautiful girl's hand holding onto his collar.
As the light started to envelop them, Liss turned to look at a duo, before approaching them and audibly saying, "Golden, you have chosen him right?"
Golden's beautiful eyes turned slightly in a piercing glaze; one could tell she wasn't in the mood or pleased with Liss' words.
Seeing her look, a mischievous glint could be seen in her eyes. Feeling the light fell on both her and Redspear, she smirked, lastly saying,
"I don't know why you decided to change your plan and give something so precious to him with your character but, Redspear also has enormous talent comparable to the talents of the mainland," pausing, a slight wickedness could be seen in her eyes. "If you were to give him that, then both of you would benefit greatly you know, and not to mention, he is also already under my Family protection."
As she finished saying her words the light fully enveloped her and into a streak of light they vanished into the dark hole. But at the last moment, her body shuddered catching a glimpse of the look in Golden's eyes…
'Have I gone too far?!' this was the only thought that bombarded her mind for the last time, before turning blank!
Golden watched the girl disappear and turned to White, who was confused with a slight frown on his face. Breathing out her tension, she said, "I'll tell you everything in the mainland."
After saying that, the light completely enveloped them. Without much word, her long and delicate hand grabbed onto his wrist. White was a little surprised, but he knew of the reason.
'We teamed up only for the Seed Hole and were supposed to forget each other after the trial. But, it seems she had another plan she wasn't willing to tell me now.' White thought as he looked at her beautiful side profile that was comparable to that of a goddess, he had already been suspecting it for some time but the word of the girl named Liss, made him confirm his suspicion.
'Well as long as it brought me benefit, I wouldn't mind doing anything.' he thought lastly, and they both disappeared from the desolate land.
What White thought now was not just a thought, it was his true self speaking. In order to gain power and benefit for his goal he was willing to do almost everything or anything without much moral obligations. He wasn't like this always, but that cruel world changed him into something that has what it takes to survive.
This was the reason he was termed a villain in his previous world, feared by everyone and loved by no one. But he still held his head high, for he had nothing to feel ashamed or guilty about. After all, he would do anything to bring her back and fight for his goal.
In no time, the massive crowd had disappeared and the desolate land had again turned into the bleak and empty land.
The gigantic dark hole in the sky rumbled, spreading a terrifying fluctuation throughout the skies before shrinking smaller and smaller to the tiniest point that it couldn't be observed by one eye, and at the next moment, it disappeared completely!
Beyond the clouds, the numerous people floating in the sky looked at the disappearing dark hole and they finally breathed sighs of relief, seeing that nothing unexpected happened during the whole process and the participants were on their way to the mainland safely.
"Exalted Daoist, do you by any chance notice them in the mass?" someone near the old man with white hair holding a white horsetail whisk asked.
The other people were also interested and respectfully waited for his answer.
The old man remained silent with an amiable and kind expression, he slightly shook his head after some moment, saying in his old voice, "There are indeed some of them, but I can't identify them nor pinpoint their location. Sigh, though If only the Death and Hell Empress were here, she might be able to…"
The old man didn't finish, his deep eyes looked in a certain direction with slight confusion that wasn't noticeable.
The others had an expression of understanding and bowed toward the old man. Although they were no small characters, compared to the old man in front of them with the title Daoist, they could be counted as nothing.
One thing to note was that, although the region White was at could hear the voice of the Daoist from the skies, the truth was that, the mysterious Watchers and Daoist weren't above them but very far away from the region White was at.
…
In a strange space that seems to be inside the dark hole, a place one couldn't tell where and when, and time and space don't seem to exist.
The instant White was sucked into the dark hole he arrived in the space, he couldn't see anything or perceive anything and the only thing proving his existence was the cold and delicate holding on his wrist.
Although White was aware of everything, he felt as though he was in the middle of nothing.
Suddenly at the moment, other than Golden's hand on his wrist, he felt something on his finger.
The ordinary ring on his finger!
He remembered the ring that was put on his finger by the mysterious lady in a black gown, at this moment was glowing, making his whole being feel it.
'This,' White's heart skipped a beat because he knew what it meant.
'Come back here again after the trial… this ring will help you with it.' White couldn't help but remember her words which brought fear, confusion, and uncertainty in his heart.
This whole time, he had been thinking if he should go or not but couldn't come to a decision. He was a person who rarely hesitated if he decided on things, but this brought him a great amount of headache.
The ordinary ring continued to glow and a power inside it was trying to communicate with him; as if asking his permission. Right now, he felt that if he only thought of the word 'yes' in response, he would be directly teleported to that place in this instant.
But he didn't and remained silent.
In the space there was no time or space, the glowing ring and White's silence seemed to last for an instant or days before it started to dim its radiance and finally, the ring returned to being the normal ordinary ring on his fingers.
'Sigh…' White difficulty sighed in his mind after coming to a decision. Honestly, he didn't want to go near that woman with an unknown motive for now, if he was any other normal person he would definitely have gone but sadly, he isn't, and was cautious by nature. But his relief didn't last long, the familiar cold yet elegant voice of that mysterious lady resounded inside his mind, sounding strange.
'Little White, why didn't you come?'
This was one of the times White couldn't help but shudder upon hearing a voice.
'!!'
Instantly, the realization hit him like a ramming of a mad bull but not knowing what to answer, he kept muted himself.
Hearing his silence, the voice continues,
'Well, there is no problem I'll just find you again, but don't mean harm to you…'
'...Careful, the world is filled with danger and you are a very rare person, dying early wouldn't benefit you. My dear Fateless…'
After saying her last sentence, her cold yet elegant voice disappeared into the darkest of voids along with White.
A long time seemed to have passed for him, but it was only an instant for everyone.
The next moment White disappeared from the desolate land, he was already standing on another land!
The event just now seems to be a dream.
