Ancient Rain City

Far on the southern edge of a very beautiful and mysterious world was a big city spanning hundreds of miles in diameter. This city was filled with wonderous ancient architecture and a magical environment that infused a sense of mysticism to the people who witnessed it.

This city was called the Ancient Rain City, a king-level city in the Misty Valley Providence ruled by a Blessed King.

A king-level was a powerhouse of the world that far exceeded the level of a master in terms of both power and authority. Their mere breath could shift mountains and stop the waves of the sea.

At this moment in a specific place in the big city gather a massive crowd in front of a stone platform that looked like an ancient construct that had been made far in the past. This construct has a large stone platform that was engraved with various magical runes and at the edges surrounding it were ten pillars with the same runes.

This was a platform that allowed people to teleport in and out of the city and travel through long distances within the shortest time. It was also a magical one called the Teleportation Platform!

Today was the day for the end of the trial of the master, and also the day for the return of their seeding and descendant who was off to participate in it.

The massive crowd in front of the Teleportation Platform all wore an eager and excited expression looking at the platform. In the back were mostly the children and ordinary dressing folk and at the front were people with distinguishing robes with abnormal air in them; they were different from the one at the back.

The people at the back watch the various people at the front with respect and envy. The people at the front were all high-ranking masters of the city; the most respected of existence, and people no one dared to look down upon. Different from ordinary masters they were backed by the city or force such as a powerful Family.

The people were murmuring and chatting among themselves, some were even discussing marriage proposals to some of the promising youth and betrothed their daughters, as they waited for the return of their future masters.

At this moment, the ground quaked spreading tumors through the place as the ancient runes on the Teleportation Platform started to light up in unison.

Seeing the phenomenon the people's eyes lit up and instead of a frightened expression they showed an excited look.

"They are returning!" a loud voice filled with clear signs of excitement resounded from the crowd.

The rest of the people were already aware of the information but still reacted to it from the sheer excitement coursing through their veins.

At the frontmost, a few old people stood in front of the Teleportation Platform. Seeing the platform lit up they had a slight smile on their face.

"Hoho~ I wonder if that golden-haired girl will return to this Teleportation Platform. If so, it would be good." Among the few people, an old man in a red robe with black runic patterns at its edge said looking at the platform in front. Unlike the no-names people at the back, he gives off a powerful aura.

"Old Red, I suggest you give up the idea of proposing her to marry that grandson of yours, after all, she is the city lord's esteemed guest; her background shouldn't be ordinary at all." said another old man beside the one who just spoke. This old man wore similar robes to the former but the color of his robes was grey and more mysterious.

"Heh Old Grey, you shouldn't meddle in my affairs. You think I don't know that you're just jealous because you don't have any worthy grandsons to propose anything to her, and are trying to make me lose out on having such a wonderful daughter-in-law." the robe old man retorted with a sneer looking at the figure beside him.

The two were an old rival and had been fighting since they were young; their Family was like fire and water that could not be mixed and get along, leading to the both having long-established grudges against each other.

"You!" the grey-haired old man wanted to retort but what he said was right, he was the head of his Family for a long time and knew how incapable his grandsons were, but the last thing he wanted was to lose out on this old man. Continuing:

"Heh, Old Red although I admit that my grandsons couldn't be compared to yours, did you forget I have a granddaughter that stumped on those talented grandsons of yours?" laughing menacingly with his old face, he taunted the red robe old man.

That's right, although he didn't have any worthy grandsons, he indeed has a very talented granddaughter!

Just when the red robe old man wanted to speak out of sheer anger, a feminine voice beside them interrupted.

"Cut it out you old fools, we can't beared to hear your nonsense every day you know."

Hearing the disrespectful voice, the two old men look at the origin of the voice with annoyance.

Although disrespectful, they didn't say anything seeing a beautiful and elegant woman in green robes adorned by some treasures and the same runic patterned inscribed on its edges. Her emerald eyes were like heavenly jewels as she disdainfully looked at the two old men.

It was not only her, an old man and a middle-aged woman beside the beautiful emerald eyes woman were also staring at the two old men in annoyance.

"Hundred Jade Sword…" the grey-robed old man murmured her name and just when he wanted to speak a bright pillar of light shot out from the Teleportation Platform in the clear sky; connecting it and creating a beautiful scene.

The two old men look at the pillar of light in excitement and forget what they were about to say, the same goes for the emerald-eyed woman and the two other persons. They look at the pillar of ling with their own thought.

The beautiful woman who interrupted the two quarreling old men showed a beautiful yet graceful smile looking at the platform where the light originates, slowly speaking,

"Jade."

White felt his foot on the ground but at this moment he couldn't think about anything else and had a small frown on his forehead.

'Fateless?' he repeated the word whispered by the mysterious lady inside his head just now. He was confused by her words and couldn't help but feel an ominous feeling upon hearing it. He was sure the scary woman was calling him a Fateless, and he didn't know anything of it.

But thinking of something, he heaved a sigh of relief and calmed down quickly thinking, 'But It's a relief that she doesn't seem to hold any grudge or anger.'

He could have someone like her as an enemy for now.

This was White greatest headache during the trial, although at one point in time he had thought about going but at the last moment, he had decided against it and ignored her call.

White slightly shocks his head and started looks around.

As soon as White opened his eyes, the desolate land that encompassed the world had vanished and was replaced by a beautiful and refreshing atmosphere. Instantly, what came into his view was the flourishing world with a myriad of spirits and laws.

This environment made his taunt body crack out from its shelf and he involuntarily relaxed in pleasure from all the tension and pressure he had experienced in the trial.

His eyes brows raised a little seeing the massive crowd with a joyous expression upon seeing them and at that moment Golden beautiful voice resounded beside him,

"We have arrived, at the Ancient Rain City!"

"Ancient Rain City..." White looked at the grand city before him in awe, asking, "Is it the place you are from?"

"This? No, this is just a mere small city somewhere in a corner of the world." Golden with a clear contempt replied; it's obvious she held a slight contempt for this place.

Upon hearing the sarcastic tone in her voice, White gave her a look before saying, "I heard you said that one will be teleported back to the place they came from except for people from the Desolated Plane."

"That's right, I came through this Teleportation Platform," Golden shrugged and said. Seeing the confusion on his face she continued, "It's because of some troubles."

A light of enlightenment flashed inside White's mind and he nodded. He had already guessed that she was indeed in some kind of trouble before on the Other Side, he just didn't know how big.

The platform they were currently in was at least a hundred meters in length and could host a massive amount of people. White turned toward the back and a massive number of people appeared in his sight.

The ones that caught his eye were familiar people who were in his– no, Golden's group.

There was Jade; the girl with emerald eyes with beautiful lush green hair. Not only her there were also Frez, Greenleaf, Greenblade, and Ironblood. But surprisingly, he didn't see any sign of the girl he had been with longest; Aizu.

'She didn't come through this teleportation portal? Although she is not from the Desolate Plane she would have been able to follow Frez here if she wanted; like Greenleaf and the others who took Golden's poison and needed the antidote.' White thought and couldn't help but shook his head. He shouldn't be troubled by this and whether she comes and go isn't his business.

Abandoning any thought of her, he looked toward the crowd, and immediately, the five people at the front with conspicuous clothing and strong auras caught his attention.

These were the red robe, grey robe old men along with the beautiful emerald eyes woman called the Hundred Jade Sword and two others beside her.
