Chapter 21: Kalle's Brother

On the way home from school, Coey and Lydia walked in front while Kalle and the others walked behind.

Lydia carefully observed Coey's expression. "Why are you looking at me like that? What's wrong?" Lydia smiled and said when she saw her plan was exposed.

"Nothing, I just want to ask why Oliver suddenly transferred to our school?" Coey himself was puzzled.

"I don't know either. He gave me a strange feeling this time. He seemed to have changed into a different person." Lydia also felt that Oliver seemed to have been looking for an opportunity to talk to Coey alone this time.

"Maybe he just came to a new environment and is not very adaptable, so he is eager to communicate with you more?" Coey thought about it and nodded. "Probably."

The group came to Kalle's house, and not far away they saw Bella holding Una standing at the door waiting for everyone to arrive.

Before Bella could get up to check, she saw that the person had already arrived in the living room.

"Baby, why are you back? Why didn't you send a text message to mom?" The person who came was Rex, who was also Kalle's brother.

"I was on a business trip to another town, and I happened to pass by here, so I came back." Rex's appearance is very similar to Kalle. Blond hair, light blue pupils and a high nose bridge.

But Rex's temperament is completely different from Kalle's. He is nearly 6.74 feet tall and gives people the feeling of being cold and unapproachable.

"Mom baked a lot of cookies. Do you need to eat some? Go back to your room and rest for a while, and mom will bring it to you later." Rex thought for a moment and nodded.

"Kalle, who is your brother? He looks so fierce." Even Steven and Perry, who are close to Kalle, have never seen Rex.

"Yes, he is a very nice person. I'll go up first." Kalle said, holding Una upstairs and knocking on Rex's door.

"Brother." Kalle pushed the door open and saw Rex lying on the bed with his eyes closed.

"You are here? Sit down." No matter how naughty Kalle is, he will become well-behaved and sensible when he sees Rex. He loves and respects this brother who is 10 years older than him.

"Brother, look at this puppy, it is Una. We just raised it not long ago." Rex also loves his only brother very much. He stood up and touched Una's head very graciously.

"Little guy, how have you been recently?" Kalle smiled and chatted with Rex.

"Still the same. How about your brother? Is he doing well outside?" Rex looked at his brother who cared about him and suddenly felt that his brother had really grown up a lot.

"You guys still care about me? Don't worry, I'm doing well. Take this card." Rex took out a card from his wallet and handed it to Kalle.

"You've given me enough money. I can't take my brother's money anymore." Rex forced Kalle to accept it. "Just take it. Don't be polite to me."

Kalle knew she couldn't beat Rex, so she had to accept it. "Brother, are you in a bad mood? I think you're different from before."

Rex smiled bitterly and pretended, "No, you must have seen it wrong." "Brother, are you still thinking about her?"

Kalle clearly felt Rex's body pause after saying this. Rex patted Kalle on the back and said, "You'll understand another day. Okay, go out, I need to rest."

Kalle was asked to leave the room. He was still young and didn't know what happened that year. But since that incident, Rex has become taciturn. His intuition told him that there must be some secrets. Kalle decided to find a time to ask clearly.

At night, because Rex was not in a hurry for work. So he decided to stay at home for one night. Kalle's whole family was very happy that day, and Bella even cooked for the rare occasion.

"Mom and Dad, you guys are making too much trouble." Rex looked at Marcus busy with the turkey and Bella busy with the cake, and he smiled helplessly.

"Today is a rare gathering for our family, so we must celebrate it well. Kalle, bring the potatoes I prepared." Marcus hurriedly left early when he learned that his eldest son had returned home just to prepare a good dinner for him.

Kalle was also busying around as a servant. "Brother, please give us a chance to perform well!"

Rex watched the family busying around for him, and he also joined the busy team.

After dinner, the family gathered in the living room to chat, and went back to their rooms when it was time to go to bed.

Kalle took advantage of Rex entering the room and quietly got up and opened his parents' door.

"Mom and Dad? Are you asleep?" Bella suddenly felt someone standing by her bed and talking to her. When she opened her eyes, she saw Kalle standing beside her bed in black clothes.

"Arghhh! Kalle? What are you doing in here?" Bella's shouting woke up Marcus who was sleeping soundly.

"What's wrong, dear?" Marcus asked Bella while rubbing his sleepy eyes.

"Mom! Why did you scream suddenly? You scared me." Kalle was also scared by Bella's shouting.

"I was sleeping and suddenly saw a dark shadow standing beside my bed. I would scream. But why did you come here instead of sleeping?" Kalle locked the door and turned on the light.

"I don't know what happened back then. I just want to ask you what you know about my brother's past?" Bella's thoughts were pulled back to a few years ago.

She only knew that Rex had a girlfriend who had been in love with him for many years, but later, she didn't know what happened and the woman broke up with Rex and stopped contacting him.

After that, no matter how the couple asked Rex, he didn't answer. It was also from that incident that Rex became silent.

"Is that it? Did my brother become like this because he couldn't let go of that woman?" Kalle fell into deep thought after listening to Bella's description of what happened back then.

"That incident was a huge blow to him." Marcus, who had been listening silently, suddenly said something.
