First Blood

The world around me blurred into streaks of light, a dizzying kaleidoscope of colors rushing past. I instinctively reached out, my fingers grasping at the luminous dots zipping by. For a split second, I thought they might be Mana, but reality crashed back in—this was just a simulation. A hyper-realistic one, but virtual nonetheless.

I chuckled inwardly at my own foolishness. Of course, they couldn't replicate Mana here. Not yet, anyway. But who knew what the future held? With each passing day, we were uncovering more about the mysterious energy and the even more enigmatic gates. The possibilities seemed endless.

Suddenly, the rushing lights coalesced into a dense forest. Towering trees surrounded us, their canopies blocking out most of the simulated sunlight. The air felt thick, heavy with the scent of damp earth and decaying leaves. It was eerily quiet for a moment, the kind of silence that makes your skin prickle with anticipation.
