Synopsis

WARNING: This novel is in the process of a rewrite as the early chapters are rough and the later chapters are too slow with the progress. This was my first attempt at a novel and it sucked but I didn't want to throw this aside as I knew the outline all the way until the ending. The rewrite will basically be one year (in the timeline) later where there's more action.

Ryan Carter, a 26-year-old man, finds his ordinary life disrupted when a mysterious white rift appears in the sky over his city. As the world reacts to this strange phenomenon, Ryan is swept up into the unfolding events, which will drastically change the course of his life.

What this novel is about:

This novel is a more realistic take or my attempt at it on what happens when a modern world gets hit by gates, magic, mana, etc.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

What to expect:

This novel will be very long, there will be a few slice of life elements but not the point where it becomes a slog. Currently, at chapter 35, the novel is making way for why Ryan's reason to becoming stronger. I don't want to have a MC who suddenly wants to gain power without any solid reasoning. There will be no harem. The word count for this novel will be above 1 million words. It might seem like there's too little chapters but most of my chapters are 2k words minimum. I'm currently at 2400 words per chapter average.

New chapters are released daily at 6:00 PM UTC+8.

Good story so far, as of chapter 40, main character is developing nicely, other characters are being flushed out as the story develops, intrigue and interest about the power system is increasing as we progress, the world stage develops and we learn about it as we progress in the story, keep up the good work Sir. AUTHOR.

A genuinely good read so far. Looks like the author's shooting for 1-2 chapters daily, which is a great pace. The writing is also great, it gives a lot of context without being an absolute info dump. Other than the slow start (Chapters 1-2, and a bit of 3), this story really does have good potential. Solid 9/10 for me, highly recommended.

As a new author, this story is surprisingly detailed. It definitely starts off slow but that's the appeal as it seems like every little single detail is explained. And it's explained in a pretty good way too. And it also seems like the author is updating 2 chapters daily? (I hope) with consistent updates, I think this novel can succeed.

Shameless Review :D This is my first book and there might be mistakes (which I try my best for it to not appear). The story might start off slow, but I wanted to take into account the actions of everyone(or every entity/organization) around him (protagonist). One chapter took me a lot of rewrites to get it logical. I also didn't want to info dump as that's just going to make you forget a lot of things.
