Two days into their traversal of the frigid Azure Flow a sudden summer thunderstorm drove Wu Ling's group under the cover of several fallen trees. Had they been elsewhere on Jade Wind Mountain, the storm would have quickly soaked through their robes and turned the narrow game trails they followed into small streams.
The cold energy of the Azure Flow, however, turned a thunderstorm into a hailstorm, pelting them with pea sized hail that quickly froze the soft ground and stung any exposed skin. Lightning flickered in the sky and the day grew unnaturally dark as the intensity of the storm increased around them.
"Brother Fang," Wu Ling said with a chuckle as the formation initiate worked rapidly to place his flags and spirit jades. "By the time we get off this mountain you will be the leading expert in creating barriers to ward off bad weather."
