The banished soul

It was just the whirring winds of the mountains, as I slowly stood up from my consciousness. It was the same shivering sensation as I spotted my two friends sitting, resting their heads by the boulders.

Adam was grabbing a mountain stick, and he was very tired.

"You… pulled me up?" I asked them as Akiff nodded slightly.

"Were you actually that strong?" I asked again as I pulled out some corned beef from my bag. Their shrugs were their answers.

"I believe that we keep on moving, in order not to starve," suggested Adam, I glanced at his face once, then shoved the canned meat into the bag again.

It was a lot calming atmosphere after the chase, we trolled down the pathway it leads to. How long must we even walk?

"Reishan… is that a distorting boulder?" pointed Akiff as I stared the that boulder. Yes, its middle was rumbling and rattling violently, although the rest of the stone were still. It rattled wildly, making and eerie sound, the image rattling uncontrollably, like how a malfunctioning hologram does.

"W-what is that?" stammered Adam as we approached it. Maybe a cave, or something similar to that portal before.

"Grab my bag. I'm going to try to reach it. If something goes wrong… be prepared to pull me out," I said as my friends nodded and each grabbed a part on my bag.

With trembling hands, I reached out for the wobbling image, I gulped as I felt a sucking sensation, trying to pull my entire body. What is this?

Zoom! My entire body was absorbed into that rock, and because my friends were holding by me, they got pulled in too!

It was only a few seconds before we landed with a heap, on some weeds. Poor Adam have to land with a splat in the murky mud not far from us.

"Aargh! My clothes!" roared Akiff as he stood up, staring at his pattered shirt with a horrified expression. Where are we, and what the heck is this place?!

I stood up with wet hands, I wiped my face and my glasses a bit with a tissue. I scanned the scenery around us, and it was completely different from where we were just now. I cannot believe all this just happened to us, that not even a single ordinary person would experience. This all defies all laws!

It was a different scene as we have just teleported from the coldest mountains to a swampy lake full of weeds and mud.

"Are we supposed to cross this?" asked Adam as he glanced the lake and the basin at the other side.

"We could walk around it," Akiff added as the mud squelched under his foot. I was silent, because I was staring at a mysterious glow of light at the other side. Could it be… treasure?

"How deep is it?" Adam said casually, picked up a pebble and thew it in the lake. I watched the pebble plopped into the murky water when ALL OF A SUDDEN!

As the pebble landed in the middle of the lake, the epicentre starts to glow in green. Our eyes were wide as the ripples intensifies, an eerie green glow emerged from what was the bottom of the lake. How deep was it?

The ripples turned into surging waves, as a monster leapt out of the lake, roared so loudly that someone will need thick pillows to cover their ears. A serpent! Or was it like it?

The serpent glanced us with its sinister red eyes, it opened its frills and let out a sound boom. I dragged my friends away as the ground vibrated wildly in contact with the blast. I glanced at the beast, then at the mysterious glowing object by the other side of the lake. Maybe it was guarding it?

"What should we do?!" Adam shrieked, interrupting my thoughts. I squinted my eyes to the other side, then gritted my teeth.

"Distract it," I told my friends once and they nodded without a word, bolted to their backs, ran in different directions.

"Eat this!" shouted Akiff as he threw a small rock to the serpent. It does hit, as a sound like hit to steel was heard. The raging serpent glanced at the person who threw it, then roared, and swam towards him, Akiff made his run. I stared to the water lilies get threw like dust by the waves, I made my move.

I jumped my best jump, as I skipped through the floating giant lilies still wobbling because of the waves. I nearly got flung into the murky water as I dashed as fast as I could, I jumped and leapt from pads to another, worried about my balance as a big wave struck me!

I managed to grab the edge of a lily pad, quickly climbed as I ran with the rest of my stamina. I huffed and puffed a lot as I jumped from a pad like a frog, plummeted to the ground on the other side of the bank. Aargh! It was pebbles I am landing on. Several traces of blood were visible on my forehead, and my entire body felt numb.

But the glowing object was just in front of me. I stared at it with sad eyes, imagining my friends struggling to distract the monster. I must make a better world…

I reached for the structure, and suddenly light engulfed me. I closed my eyes lightly to avoid blindness. When suddenly…

I was in a black room, with strange encryptions scattered by the endless walls up there. It was dark, and I saw a person heavily chained, like a wanted criminal. But that person was like… ancient.

His eyes were somber but glowing green, all of his long hair was been wrapped in a bundle, his long coat makes him part of a mysterious royalty, his shape was nearly perfect, but he was sad.

"Have you ever wondered how long have I been kept here?" that person muffled, as he floated above the 'ground', the chains holding him to fly any further. I kept my mouth shut until I have a question to ask.

"Where is this?" I asked, I approached the man slowly.

"Your mind, my boy. Where your memories have been formed, and where your imagination happens," the man responded, as he sat on the ground. I sat in front of him, following his actions.

"I was banished from my lands, a long time ago. I have created enough destruction in many places, I have no mercy, and I regret doing so. They tied me into this place and send me into space,"

"Well, sorry then, I can't help with your past violence and intolerance for others," I muttered as I faced away from him.
