Chapter 10 Awakening

As the night deepened, the forest was silent, with only the occasional chirping of insects reminding people that it was not completely peaceful here. The moonlight shone through the dense treetops, casting a little silver light, but it was difficult to dispel the darkness deep in the forest.

Ebert carried the unconscious young man on his back and walked hard in the forest. He didn't know how long he had walked or where he was, but he didn't dare to stop, because he knew that in this dangerous forest, stopping meant danger. Fatigue and hunger continued to erode his physical strength, but he still gritted his teeth and persisted, because he knew that he was carrying another person's life.

He had to find a safe place as soon as possible to rest in peace and figure out what to do next.

Fortunately, the statue in Ebert's hand still emitted a faint glow, illuminating the road ahead for him. Although the light was weak, it was like a lighthouse in the dark, guiding his direction and bringing him a hint of warmth and hope.

After walking for an unknown amount of time, Ebert came to a cave after climbing over a small hill. The entrance of the cave was blocked by dense vines. If you didn't look carefully, it would be hard to find that there was a different world here. The cave entrance was surrounded by various strange plants, exuding various strange fragrances, some sweet, some bitter, and some with a hint of indescribable weirdness.

Ebert pushed aside the vines and walked into the cave cautiously.

The cave was very dry, with a thick layer of fallen leaves on the ground, which was soft and moist. There was a faint herbal fragrance in the air, which was refreshing and seemed to have a healing effect.

Ebert gently put the young man on the ground, then took out a water bottle from his pocket and wanted to feed him a sip of water.

At this moment, the young man suddenly coughed a few times and slowly opened his eyes. He looked around in confusion, as if he had not yet fully woken up from his coma.

"Who... who are you?" the young man asked weakly. His voice was very low, but Ebert still heard it clearly.

"Don't be afraid, I'm here to help you." Ebert said softly, his voice was a little tired, but full of sincerity and kindness, "How do you feel? Are you injured?"

The young man struggled to sit up, but his body was too weak and he failed after several attempts.

Seeing this, Ebert hurried forward to support him and let him lean on him.

"Thank you... thank you for saving me." The young man said gratefully. His voice was still weak, but his eyes were full of gratitude. "My name is Adi, what about you?"

"My name is Ebert." Ebert replied, "Don't be afraid, I have killed the beast, you are safe now."

"Beast?" Adi was stunned for a moment, then seemed to remember something, and said in horror, "You mean, the black-striped magic leopard? You... you actually killed it?"

"Black-striped magic leopard?" Ebert asked puzzledly, "What is that?"
