Rogue Vampires

The game went on, and seeing it up close and in real life really felt different to Alex.

'It's an entirely different experience than watching it on the screen, and even then it was CGI and computer effects that replicated the movements, but when it's real life and they really are vampires it's really different' Alex thought as he looked at the game.

Unlike Bella who could barely keep up and even lost sight of the ball sometimes, Alex could see it clearly, his vision was truly supernatural so he could keep track of all movement on the field easily.

Just as about twenty minutes passed, Alice stopped, her eyes grew vacant and she practically dropped to the ground.

'It's here' Alex thought immediately as he saw the game stop and everyone rushed toward Alice, besides Bella and Alex of course.

Alex simply watched for a moment while Bella was too stunned by the sudden change to react, and even if she did then she would be too slow as a human.

A few seconds later, Alex and Bella joined them as well as the Cullens gathered around Alice.

Carlisle had hoisted Alice up so she wouldn't be flat on the wet grass and now everyone was waiting for her to get out of the vision.

"What's wrong, what happened to Alice?" Bella questioned, her expression frightened at the thought that something could have happened to her so suddenly.

"It's fine, I told you about her visions, that's what this is," Edward said as she put a hand on Bella's back to calm her down.

Alice didn't take long, merely a few more seconds before her eyes gained their clarity once more and she regained control over her body.

Her expression was grim however as she looked at the others.

"Other vampires, they're close. They're heading here." Alice said as she looked at Carlisle.

"Didn't you say that they weren't going to come here?" Edward asked, his voice clearly frustrated at the happenings.

"They must have changed their path because they heard us," Alice said and Edward immediately went to grab for Bella when he heard.

"We must get you out of here," Edward said to her as he started getting her away.

"It's impossible, we don't have enough time. They will be here in two to three minutes maximum" Alice said as she shook her head, her eyes were trained on Alex soon as if asking him a silent question.

Edward turned his head towards him as well, he must have heard Alice's thoughts.

Alex didn't give them a reply however as he stood silent.

Edward soon turned his head back, Alice had extended her scarf toward him.

"Use this to try and mask her scent," Alice said

Edward nodded as he grabbed the scarf and started tying it up around Bella's face, he even took off his own jacket and gave it to Bella so she could wear it.

"It's useless," Rosalie said as she shook her head, her expression was clearly frustrated at what was happening as well.

"I could smell her from all the way on the other side of the field," Rosalie said as she continued her words whilst looking at Bella, her stare was nowhere near friendly but it wasn't as hostile as it had been either, having grown somewhat accustomed to Bellas company.

*Sigh*

Alex sighed softly as he went to stand in front of Bella.

"They're here," Alex said as he looked at the other side of the clearing, where the forest started back in full swing, an array of pine trees covering the horizon.

As Alex's voice spread through and everyone understood him, they appeared.

Three vampires.

One of them was James, he was a very pale vampire, even paler than the Cullens, with blonde hair tied up and red eyes that seemed to shine even in daylight.

The second one was a woman, she had darker blonde hair than James, it went up to her bosom and was slightly curled, her eyes similarly were red.

The last one, and the one that stood in front of the three was a black man with a large stature, his hair made in long dreads that went almost up to his midsection. His eyes just like the other two were bright red.

'James's coven.' Alex thought as he stared at them.

All three of them truly looked like vampires, they didn't hold the subtle grace of the Cullens, they could even be called feral as they stood in crouched-up positions as if they were some kind of wild predator which Alex thought was a fitting name for them.

"Hello there" Laurent was the first one to talk as he approached closer to the Cullens and the Swan siblings.

James and Victoria stood right behind him.

Carlisle was the one to head towards them first, as he showed them a smile though it was quite different from his normal ones, Alex could clearly see how strained it was.

'Let's get started' Alex thought as he started walking just a little behind Carlisle.

Soon, the distance between the two parties was closed and they stood face to face.

"I'm Laurent, and these are James and Victoria, we were passing through and then heard the sounds so we decided to come and give a greeting," Laurent said as he stared at Carlisle, his eyes flickering to Alex for a moment before turning back to Carlisle.

"Im Carlisle Cullen, this is my family, Alex, Edward, Edythe, Alice, Emmet, Jasper, Bella, Rosalie, and Esme," Carlisle said as he mentioned everyone at once, it was a subtle tactic to hide Bella by introducing them all at once rather than individually.

Edward had instructed Bella to stay close to him and stay as still as she possibly could.

"Do you have any spots open in the game?" Laurent asked as he looked at Carlisle.

"I'm sorry but we were just preparing to leave. But we would certainly be interested for another time. Are you planning to stay in the area for long?" Carlisle asked.

Laurent shook his head.

"We're headed north in fact but were curious to see who was in the neighborhood, we haven't had company in a long time," Laurent said as he gave Carlisle a smile.

Carlisle shook his head as he said.

"Besides us, this region is usually empty besides the occasional visitor like yourselves"

The tense atmosphere had slowly subsided and turned more into casual talk.

Alex suspected it was because of Jasper's gift which he felt was trying to intrude into his own mind as well though it had no success because of his mental shield.

Laurent nodded and then asked.

"What is your hunting range? We wouldn't want to intrude" Laurent asked Carlisle, his tone had clearly lost a lot of its edge.

The atmosphere had calmed down a lot.

"The Olympic range here and up and down coast Ranges on occasion. We keep a permanent settlement here, there's another permanent one like ours up near Denali" Carlisle said.

Alex who was hearing the talk, slowly started to grip his palm as his eyes concentrated.

'It's now or never, Bella will be discovered in a few seconds' Alex thought
