Bella had already woken up a few minutes ago and was now downstairs.
Alex had heard her but was in the middle of getting his stuff ready, and if he was truly honest with himself, he really didn't want to face her right now.
Sure he knew that what he had done had caused a large shock for Bella.
She had seen two people die in front of her but he had done it for her, he had done it so she wouldn't have to go through the harrowing experience that happened in the original timeline.
While he understood her, he also had some grievances with her as well.
But it was time to head to school and whether she liked it or not, he was going with the orange truck so unless she wanted to walk then she had to deal with him for a while.
Walking down the stairs they made creaking noises as almost everything seemed to be in this old house.
Bella turned to face the stairs with an apprehensive look, she had thought that no one was at home. Alex was at the Cullens meanwhile Charlie had already headed off to work.
"Hey," Alex said as he finally came into view, being able to see Bella looking at him from the couch.
Bella showed a shocked expression for a moment and maybe there was even fear somewhere in her eyes but she seemed to hide it well.
"Hey Alex, you came early?" Bella said, her voice neutral.
"Yeah, I wanted to have one last talk with Charlie before I headed off," Alex said as he motioned to the backpack slung over his shoulder.
His words caused Bella to quickly turn her head again to look at Alex, her eyes wide as she looked at him.
"Headed off? What do you mean by that Alex?" Bella asked her words spewed out so quickly, that Alex wondered if a normal human would have even been able to know what she said.
"Yeah, I'm going on a three-month trip until the next year of high school starts and then I'm coming back," Alex said as he nodded at her.
"I'm going to school today to ask for this one-week leave and then I'll be directly heading to catch the bus," Alex said as he stood before her.
"Why, so suddenly," Bella mumbled as she lowered her head and then quickly raised it again to look at Alex.
"Is it because of me? Because of what happened yesterday" Bella asked, her voice truly showing how vulnerable she felt, it almost looked like she was stuttering that was how shaky her voice sounded to Alex.
"No it's not because of that Bella, I understand why you reacted that way. I had this planned out for a while now. I just want to go around and just sightsee I guess, and right now just seemed like the perfect time" Alex said as he shrugged.
He was lying, however.
Sure he had this planned ahead of time but he didn't plan to head off this quickly and suddenly. Bella's reaction had caused this change of plans. Alex wanted some time alone, some time to find who he truly was in this world.
Bella had said quite a few times that he had changed and maybe he had. Though he shouldn't have, Past Alex was supposed to be him from the very beginning but the more he stayed in this world, the more convinced he was that the so-called 'GOD' hadn't told the truth, past Alex hadn't been a clone of him.
Alex planned to find out more about that as well as to start making some progress on his other plans for the future.
All of this together had spurred him to plan this trip of his out.
"I see," Bella said slowly, and then whilst she had her head lowered she muttered.
"I know that yesterday was rough and I'm still thinking about it but I will still miss you whilst you're gone, Alex. I'm sorry that I said some really harsh words yesterday" Bella said and Alex's eyes could catch a single tear drop down to the floor.
When Bella lifted her head, Alex could really see that she wasn't in the best of condition.
It looked like she hadn't gotten a wink of sleep last night, she almost looked like a corpse.
Alex took a few steps forward and gave her a hug.
"It's all right, I'm your brother, aren't I? When you're sad, when you're angry you can take it all out on me. That's what I'm here for." Alex said softly as he hugged her.
Bella hugged him back and they stood there for a few moments before Alex parted the hug.
"Now clean your face, I wouldn't want Edward to see you looking like that would you?" Alex said jokingly as he looked at her.
"Yeah," Bella said as she cleared her tears out of her face with the hem of her shirt.
"Now let's go, otherwise we'll be late for school," Alex said as he gave her a hand and pulled her to stand up.
"All right," Bella said and then mumbled.
"Sorry for breaking out like that"
"No problem, always knew you were a crybaby," Alex said jokingly as he patted her.
Bella chuckled before punching his shoulder lightly.
"I'm not"
Alex nodded with a small on his face and the two of them headed outside and into the orange truck.
Turning on the engine with a rumble, Alex reversed out of the house and into the road and started driving off toward Forks High School for the last time in a while.
The drive was silent, unlike the few moments the two had inside the house.
Bella truly loved her brother, yesterday however had been a huge shock to her, so much so that she couldn't hold back her words. She felt betrayed but now that Alex was suddenly leaving, at those moments she felt like she wasn't going to see him anymore, forever.
And that hurt too much for her to not at least apologize to him so that maybe he would come back someday as he promised.
'Please don't leave forever Alex' Bella thought as she sneaked a peak at Alex who was driving.
'Today is shaping out to be a much better one than yesterday that's for sure' Alex thought as he remembered his talk with Charlie and the one with Bella he had right now.

Thank you to all Patreons who make it possible for me to continue writing.
Now I'll be explaining something about the part of Bella basically breaking down in sobs.
I saw a lot of people calling Bella a lot of shit but I wanted to convey in this chapter that whilst she acted like she did that doesn't mean she hates Alex, she truly loves him as her brother.
So while they still hold some misgivings they are still siblings and would help each other out.
Of course, the relationship isn't as great as before the accident but it's not completely broken either.
Thanks for reading.
Lots of Love
