Chapter 27

In her hero costume, Amelia stood by the bus door, watching as her classmates filed in. Iida, as usual, was barking orders, insisting everyone listen to their class president. Amelia was the last to board, and as she made her way to the back, she slipped into a seat next to Aizawa. The teacher opened his eyes, looking at her inquiringly.

"Sir, I need you to trust me," Amelia said, her voice steady. "Please allow me to use my Quirk if there's an incident today."

Aizawa's gaze shifted from the road back to her. "You know I can't do that, Amelia. If something happens, it's my responsibility to protect my students. So no, I won't allow it."

Amelia grimaced, knowing this wasn't going to be easy. "Sir, all I ask is for you to trust me. If I ask you to use your Quirk, will you do it?"

Aizawa nodded reluctantly, his expression skeptical. "I'll try, but I'm not making any promises."

Amelia sighed and stood up, moving towards Momo Yaoyorozu, who was sitting alone. She stole the seat next to Momo, who glanced up from her book and smiled curiously.

"Momo, can I call you Momo? I'm going to call you that now," Amelia started, leaning in slightly. "If, hypothetically, there was a villain incident and our class was involved, what would you do?"

Momo raised her eyebrows and thought for a moment. "Hypothetically?" she asked, and Amelia nodded. "Well, I'd help, even if I knew I wouldn't be much use."

Amelia nodded, her expression serious. "As class president and vice president, we need a way to communicate in such situations. I would be like the sheild, and you would grab everyone and make sure they're safe, right?"

Momo nodded quizzically. "Yes, we are responsible for the class after the teacher. We'd be the last line of defence, in a way. I suppose having a signal would be useful. But this is all hypothetical, right?"

Amelia looked away before answering, "Yes, it's just a scenario that helps us prepare as we represent the class."

Momo nodded in relief. "A look and a nod would work for me, and if the roles were reversed, I'd create a smoke bomb."

Amelia smiled, appreciating Momo's quick thinking. "Sounds good. I think that's a good plan." Momo returned to her book, satisfied with their discussion.

Amelia rested her head against the seat's headrest, her eyes drifting towards Izuku, who was watching her with concern. Amelia smiled reassuringly. Izuku mouthed, "Are you okay?" Amelia nodded, closing her eyes and visualizing what was to come. The hum of the bus and the chatter of her classmates calmed her.

As the bus travelled, the students discussed their Quirks. Tsuyu Asui noted that Izuku's Quirk was similar to All Might's, but Eijiro Kirishima disagreed, pointing out All Might's superior strength. Eijiro expressed a desire for a flashier Quirk that would bring more fame. Izuku countered, arguing that Eijiro's Quirk was powerful enough to make him a great hero. Tsuyu added that Katsuki was too angry to become popular, annoying him. Denki Kaminari chimed in, suggesting that Katsuki's personality needed improvement. Listening to the conversation, Izuku realized that the dynamic had shifted since middle school: now Katsuki was the one being teased.

When they arrived at the U.S.J., they were greeted by Thirteen, the famous rescue hero. Amelia stuck close to Aizawa but kept her class in order. Thirteen introduced her facility, the Unforeseen Simulation Joint (U.S.J.), and emphasized the importance of using Quirks to save people rather than fight. Amelia, however, was too focused on the spot where the villains would appear, her senses heightened.

Suddenly, a large group of villains emerged through a black portal in the U.S.J. plaza. They were led by three mysterious figures, one complaining that All Might was not present as expected, according to a schedule they had stolen. Eraser Head immediately recognized them as the intruders from U.A. Tomura Shigaraki, one of the leaders, was visibly frustrated by All Might's absence and contemplated killing the students to provoke his arrival.

Amelia sprang forward, standing beside Aizawa, who was now on high alert. "Sir, do you trust me?" she asked urgently.

"Kid now is not the time," Aizawa replied, his eyes scanning the villains.

"Sir, do you trust me?" Amelia insisted, her voice firm. "Wasn't I right about those papers?"

Aizawa shook his head but relented. "Yes, you were, but—"

"Sir, do you trust me?" Amelia asked once more, her eyes pleading.

"Yes, I do, Amelia."

"Thank you, sir. Now, I need you to focus on one guy—the one who looks like fog, similar to the portal's colour," Amelia instructed, watching as villains poured out of the purple portal.

Aizawa scanned the crowd, spotting the fog-like figure. "Yes, I see him. He's behind the others. Why?"

Amelia responded, "I think he's the one controlling the portal, bringing in all these villains."

Aizawa nodded, realizing the importance of her observation and began preparing to nullify the fog-like villain's Quirk.

Amelia searched the crowd for Momo, their eyes locking instantly. She smiled and nodded. Momo's eyes widened in realization, shaking her head in protest. Amelia nodded again, mouthing, "Please."

Momo took Ochako's hand, asking her to use her Quirk on the students to get them out quickly. Aizawa instructed Hero Thirteen to escort the students who might retaliate to safety. The students, confused but compliant, were swiftly moved by Thirteen. Bakugo and Izuku tried to fight back but were restrained. They moved just as the villains entered, leaving only Aizawa and Amelia behind.

"Kid, I don't like this idea. It would be best if you got to safety," Aizawa urged, his tone commanding.

"No, sir. As class president, I have a duty to my class. Focus on that fog guy and cancel his Quirk," Amelia insisted.

"What about the rest of them?" Aizawa asked, concern lacing his voice.

"I think you're the only teacher who noticed something about me, sir."

"What?"

"I've been holding back."

Amelia launched herself into the fray, taking down villains with precise punches and kicks. Her movements were swift and calculated, leaving a trail of unconscious bodies in her wake.

Tomura, watching the scene unfold, grew increasingly frustrated. "She's cheating! Where are the rest of the students? They were just here...." He scratched his neck in irritation.

Amelia stood alone, surrounded by defeated villains. She had won, but her victory was short-lived. A hand wrapped around her face. "I need to get rid of you, Miss Hero," Tomura sneered, his grip tightening. Amelia braced for the worst, but nothing happened. She felt all five fingers on her skull, but there was no decay. Smiling confidently, she punched Tomura in the stomach, sending him flying toward the water.

Turning her attention to Aizawa, who was locked in combat with Kurogiri, Amelia noticed his exhaustion. Aizawa struggled to maintain control, but with Kurogiri's Quirk nullified, it was a hand-to-hand battle.

"Sir, do you trust me?" Amelia asked again, her voice cutting through the chaos.

"Yes, I do," Aizawa replied, his eyes never leaving Kurogiri.

"Focus on him. Cancel his Quirk completely," Amelia instructed.

Aizawa nodded, his eyes glowing with determination.

"Nomuuuuu!!! Kill her!" Tomura screamed, climbing out of the water.

The Nomu, now activated, blocked Amelia's incoming punch. She winced as its massive fist connected with her side, sending her flying. I'll feel that in the morning thought Amelia.

"You've done well, child, but we will win this time," Tomura taunted, recovering from the earlier blow. "Heroes have caused widespread violence throughout the world."

Amelia slowly rose, her determination unwavering. "You're wrong. Real heroes help others. Even if some do it for the money, they still save those in need." Her eyes flickered toward Aizawa, who was visibly fatigued.

"You with your naïve mindset, they've brainwashed you, girl." Tomura smiled sinisterly from beneath his mask. "Focus on this fight! This Nomu is your final boss."

Amelia braced herself as the Nomu's punch shook the ground around her. She retaliated, launching a series of powerful attacks. Their battle raged across the U.S.J., each strike creating shockwaves. Amelia fought fiercely, pushing the Nomu to its limits.

After a gruelling exchange, Amelia managed to throw the Nomu onto the ground from high in the air. Landing with a thud, she delivered her final speech. "Remember these words, 'Plus Ultra!'" She unleashed a dynamic smash, sending the Nomu flying out of the U.S.J., defeated. Turning to Tomura, she declared, "The League of Villains is finished."

"No, no, no! This wasn't supposed to happen! He said we would win. Kurogiri!" Tomura's voice was filled with desperation.

Amelia wasted no time, darting towards Tomura. "This ends now! You won't hurt anyone anymore!"

With no escape, Tomura was swiftly knocked out. Amelia stood, breathing a sigh of relief.

"I am here!" All Might's dramatic entrance was a welcome sight. Amelia smiled, grateful for his arrival. Aizawa noticed All Might, lowered his guard. Kurogiri, taking advantage, threw sand in his eyes, teleporting to Tomura.

"You've won this time, heroes, but we will return," Kurogiri vowed as he began to disappear through the portal.

A sudden bang echoed through the U.S.J., sounding like a gunshot in Amelia's ears. The bullet hit Korugiris's metal plate around his neck, momentarily stopping him, allowing Aizawa who had recovered to cancel his quirk. All Might moved forwards grabbing the quirk cancelers handcuffs from his back pocket and cuffed Korugiri. Aizawa sighed as he sank onto the floor just sitting and catching his breath. His eyes fell on his student, no the troubled child who saved his class. She stood firmly, her feet planted into the ground. She didn't move, it gave him somehow the future of the heroes that will come. She is going to be amazing, reckless but amazing.

All Might quickly handed Kurogiri over to Edgeshot, who had intervened. Rushing to Amelia, All Might's face was a mix of concern and admiration. "Young Amelia, you've done well. You saved your class and helped apprehend a villain."

Amelia squinted up at him, the sun blinding her. "We won, right?"

"Yes, you did," All Might replied, his voice filled with pride.

"But what about the gunshot earlier?" Amelia's vision blurred, fatigue setting in. "I heard another shot."

All Might looked puzzled. "Only Edgeshot's gun went off, Amelia. Why do you ask?"

Her legs felt like jelly. "No, there was another gunshot, from the portal," she insisted.

All Might's eyes widened as he saw the wound in her stomach. "Amelia, stay with me! We need Recovery Girl now!"

"Does it look bad?" Amelia refused to look down, the pain overwhelming.

"Now Amelia I need to stay calm okay, we'll call Recovery girl. She'll patch you up nice and good. Just don't close your-"

Amelia knew she was standing but somehow now she was looking into All Might's blue eyes. He has those too, so pretty. The All Might fan clubs back on earth would be so happy to know that.

"Amelia, stay awake, don't fall asleep!" All Might's voice hummed in the back.

Amelia's vision darkened, her strength waning. "Just a minute, All Might. I'm so tired. Can I close my eyes for a bit?"

"No, you can't. Recovery girl will be here soon so stay with me. Stay awake," All Might pleaded, his voice breaking.

"Please All Might, just five minutes, I'll be fine afterwards." Amelia's eyes filled with tears, her exhaustion palpable. All Might shook his head but no words came out.

"Please" Amelia pleaded.

All Might, choking back his own emotions, nodded reluctantly. "Alright, but stay with me."

Amelia, her consciousness slipping, gave All Might a weak smile before the darkness claimed her.
