Chapter 4

I sat there in shock and mild confusion. Monsters? Before last night I would have thought this was some kind of joke but after seeing what Sylvia did, It honestly seems believable enough. Wilfred suddenly grabbed Amber arm with an enraged look on his face.

"Amber what the hell!" Wilfred half shouted, "we're not supposed to tell anybody this shit!" Amber pulled her arm away mostly annoyed more than anything

"Technically this whole shit-show is Syl's fault. I'm just clearing thing up for him, so he doesn't get some stupid ideas about us" Amber said apparently not caring about the angry look on Wilfred's face.

Sylvia on the hand had her head in her hand muttering something not understandable to me and it went unheard by everyone else. I raised my hand slowly.

"Um, what exactly do you mean by that? Like are you all the same?" I said my voice was small. Amber and Wilfred paused their arguing to look at me for a second. Amber shook her head and while Wilfred just pinched his nose.

"No, we are not the same. We are in fact entirely different from Sylvia and each other" Wilfred said in a low annoyed voice. I wanted to continue asking questions, but Amber beat me to it.

"If you really want to know exactly what we are, I, for one, am a witch," Amber said, pointing to herself. "Jolly Willy over here a werewolf" she continued pointing to Wilfred who just huffed in annoyance. "And I'm sure at this point you already know what Sylvie here is." Sylvia looked down ashamed of herself as I looked on in confusion and growing horror.

"Wait!" I yelled out "If you guys are really what you say you are then what are you planning to do to me?" Panic began to fill me as I could imagine the near countless ways they killed me.

"Honestly nothing." Wilfred said which caught me off guard. "Let me be frank, there's nothing we can do that won't make our situation worse."

I was stunned for a moment before I opened my mouth again.

"What do you mean you guys aren't allowed to hurt me?" I ask. To which Amber snorted

"Don't go thinking you're too special now," she said, "we aren't allowed to hurt humans in general – unless the situation calls for it." Then she turned her gaze at Sylvia. "But hey accidents happen right Syl?"

Sylvia once again looked down at the ground.

"I didn't kill the others. I swear..." Sylvia mumbled dejectedly. Amber looked for only a second longer before slumping over with a sign.

"Don't worry about it." she said "I'll think of something. Worst they're going to send is an inspector. Maybe I can fool him." though she didn't sound too sure on that last part.

I was confused about what was going on. First thing that happened when I woke up was that I was in someone else's basement. Now I'm being told that these people – who if they like Syl in any way could kill me without a moment's notice– aren't allowed to do anything until this inspector arrives. Either I must be dreaming or I'm somehow the luckiest (or unluckiest) man on this planet.

"Well, what are you going to do now?" Wilfred said, looking directly at me. "Doesn't really matter what any of us do, with what the situation looks like we're all most likely screwed."

"Wait!" I said leaning forward "you said an inspector is going to come here, right? What will happen to us when he comes?" I ask.

The three (people?) individuals looked uncomfortable before Sylvia spoke up.

"They'll likely report to the old ones. And if we're unlucky we'll get to have a very…intense experience with one." Sylvia spoke with a small trend of fear. I gulped. That didn't sound good.

"C-couldn't we just go to the police or something?" I suggested. Amber let out a dry humorless laugh.

"We could try but they'll most likely just kill them too." Amber said, looking away. Then she suddenly got a bright look on face as if she just figured something out."y'know there is a way we can all get out of this alive." she said looking in deep thought

We all looked at Amber with confused stares before she snapped her head to sylvia. "Syl you sure you only killed those two guys, right?" Sylvia nodded. Amber then clapped her hands. "Then it settles, we just have to find the real person behind the killings–aside from the two Sylvia killed."
