Father's concerns

It seemed like she was not being rude, at least. If that was the case, then it would be fine for him to bring up what he actually had wanted to say.

"Seraphina, my daughter." His voice took on a more serious tone, and he gave a sideways glance to the butler with a sheer hint of luck.

"There's something that I'd like to talk to you about—alone." His words were ominous, and Seraphina felt a chill run down her spine.

Seraphina reluctantly sent the butler to leave the room, who appeared hesitant at the Count's words.

The butler had been observing her with concern as he contemplated on what he should do for a while before quickening his steps out of the room.

When the door was finally closed, there was a moment of silence before Seraphina slowly opened her mouth, the tension in the room almost suffocating.

"We are truly alone now. Do tell me if there's anything that you'd like to say." Her voice was calm, but inside, her heart was racing.
