CHAPTER 9: OPERATION II

-START MISSION

The military base, Lieutenant 1, along with his teams, set out for the Wehea forest in the east, where a massacre was reported by the Panan tribe. Sugi and his friends formed a team to join this special mission.

Muhammad Sani: We are now entering the Wehea forest, so I hope you all do your best to complete this operation. Our goal is to kill the infected animals by shooting them in the head, then using the flamethrower to burn their brains and collect data from that facility. Do you all understand?

Everyone: yes, Lieutenant.

Muhammad Sani: Good, now let's begin.

They started to enter the Wehea forest, remaining alert and observing their surroundings.

Eri: Sugi, do you have any other information from Dr. Muller about additional threats?

Sugi: None, so we must be careful.

Frenz: Can this parasite infect humans?

Sugi: Shaking his head, I don't know either. Dr. Muller didn't mention it, so you all need to be very cautious. That's all.

Frenz: Ehm... alright. We must watch out for one another. Rob, you should handle the flamethrower carefully since your weapon is crucial for killing those parasites.

Rob: Yes, don't worry. With me here, you can all count on me. Let me burn them all. Hehe. (smiling).

Herman: That smile looks villainous; we're here for a good cause, but you look more like a bad guy.

Rob: Wuish... keep your distance. If you're in danger later, don't call this bad guy.

Herman: Don't, Rob. Forgive me.

Sugi: Hahaha, cut the jokes, you all. The lieutenant might scold you.

Everyone: (nodding in agreement and maintaining a heavy silence).

As they walked slowly, large machines became visible in the distance.

Muhammad Sani: Stop; that must be the place where the killings took place. Stay alert. (He waved his hand to call Sugi and his friends to check the situation there).

sugi: yes, lieutenant.

team sugi: (they begin moving closer while looking around. Upon approaching, they see a horrifying scene resembling hell on earth. Blood is scattered everywhere, human organs, and spears impaling human heads standing in the middle as if presenting something. There are absolutely no signs of other infected animals in this location anymore).

Frenz: what is this, it's terrifying.

Herman: um... (shaking slightly and calming himself down).

Eri: my head hurts, what am I seeing.

Rob: ugh... (almost about to vomit but holds it back).

Sugi: we need to fall back quickly.

After they retreat to the location of the first lieutenant.

Sugi: sir. the conditions there are horrifying, I couldn't see anyone alive. Everyone has died in a terrible way.

Muhammad Sani: um... you must be cautious of parasitic animals, they won't show us any mercy. So if you encounter them, shoot without hesitation.

Everyone: yes, lieutenant.

They all begin to approach the location. Many are trying to resist the urge to vomit.

Muhammad Sani: (his grip on his weapon is very tight, fueled by his strong anger). We move forward, you must be careful.

Everyone: yes, lieutenant.

-CONSPIRENCY

The headquarters of PT. Palm Oil Nusantara in central Jakarta, a smartphone rings in an office.

JOKO HANJAYA (CEO): Hello, what seems to be the problem?

TERI SUJAYA (President Director): We hired a hitman, and it appears he has indeed killed Dr. Muller, but the problem isn't over as the military has quarantined the Wehea forest. They seem to be conducting a special operation to enter the Wehea forest to gather data from that secret facility while we've lost contact with the mercenaries we've employed.

JOKO HANJAYA: Um... I understand. (he hangs up the phone).

After hanging up, Joko contacts someone.

secret person : Hello...

JOKO HANJAYA: Sir, we have a slight issue here. (explains the current problem).

secret person : Um... I will help you handle the rest. You just need to erase all connections we have with that secret facility.

JOKO HANJAYA: Understood, sir.

secret person : Good, now go and make sure this problem gets resolved quickly.

JOKO HANJAYA: Understood, sir.

JOKO HANJAYA: (standing by the window, looking towards Kalimantan) We're so close now.

-DESA PANAN

In a remote area, several wooden houses stand, assisted by military soldiers for the indigenous people.

Captain Hasan: Grandma Chief, you can stay here for now, as we will be quarantining your forest for a while. (with the help of a translator from the military who understands the Panan language)

Grandma Chief: Yes, we have a place to stay. Please don't let us disrupt your work. As for the forest, let it be natural. Nature can heal itself.

Captain Hasan: Thank you, Grandma Chief. If there's anything we can help you with, don't hesitate to ask.

Grandma Chief: No need for that. We can manage on our own. You just go and take care of your affairs.

Outside in the field, the children are playing. In one corner, a girl is taking out a mole that she has kept in a box.

Girl: Moles, don't be naughty. I'm letting you out. (As she suddenly opens the box, the mole jumps out high, and the girl is startled, then the mole runs away.) Huh... (crying... while running to find her dad.) Dad, my mole ran away... Huh... (crying)

Dad: Sweetheart, don't cry. I'll catch another one for you, okay? Don't cry. Go help your mom in the kitchen. She's preparing food for us.

Girl: Okay, Dad. (while running to the kitchen).
