Anger

CHAPTER 9

Storm tightened his hold on his steering wheel as he glanced around his surroundings. His eyes flickered up to the big building and locked in on the floor of Raven's apartment.

'Why am I doing this?' he wondered. 'To make things right and get her.' After giving himself much pep-talk, he stepped out of his car and made his way in.

After spending six months rebuilding her life, Raven kept tabs on her stepfather and his family.

Although the company took a huge hit from her scandal and the investors who nuked her, it was surprising how it bounced back within a week without any hiccups.

Well, Raven wasn't surprised. She was the scapegoat used to get her fortune. And even after searching, she still couldn't find the men who did this to her.

She scrolled on her iPad, checking every news about them. Raven gritted when she saw her stepfather had made his daughter, Scarlet the CEO of Ryker Glamour.

"Took him long enough. If not for the public eye, Ethan wouldn't dream of delaying such an event from happening."

Anger simmered to the surface at the betrayal of her family. But her worries soon took a different turn when her phone rang.

Checking it, Raven glanced at the caller ID. Her heart calmed down and she immediately connected the call.

"Hello, Bubble."

"Miss me?" the caller flirted.

"I do not have time for your jokes, B. Go straight to the point."

The voice yawned. "I'd have pouted if you were seeing me."

"But I am not, so stop being a 20-year-old baby and work."

"Fine, senorita," he mimicked an accent irking her some more before getting straight to the point. "There's something you need to see."

"What's that?"

"I'm forwarding it to you as we speak. What would you do?"

Raven placed the phone on speaker and quickly checked her chat. She clicked on the link he sent and waited for it to open.

Raven's jaw fell, her eyes scanning the document online carefully. "Ryker Glamour finalised partnership with Unity Palace Hotel yesterday, making it one of the leading companies in the city."

"What the fuck did Crystal do?"

Raven brushed her hair from her face, leaving it in a scattered mess as she scrolled through most of the posts concerning the issue.

"Asteria?"

She ignored Bubble, reading through the series of posts to determine whether it was true or not.

"Asteria!"

Knock! Knock!

She glanced at the door, her chest heaving at the sudden news. "B, I gotta call you back later okay? I'll soon be needing your help to hack into Scarlet's laptop and the company."

"Sure, A. Relax and take a deep breath. I know these people wronged you but we got this."

Ignoring the knock on her front door, Raven's eyes narrowed, her mind racing with the news she had just received.

She was so engrossed in her thoughts that she totally forgot the knock on the door. But when the knocking persisted, she reluctantly got up from her couch, her heart still racing with anger and disbelief.

She made her way to the door, her hand on the doorknob, and she took a deep breath before opening it. Her eyes widened in shock when they landed on Storm standing outside, his eyes fixed intently on hers.

For a moment, they stared at each other not saying anything. Not that he had much to say anyways.

Raven's mind raced with questions, but she couldn't seem to form any words. On the other hand, Storm seemed to be collecting his thoughts, his eyes never leaving hers.

"Raven," he finally said, "We need to talk."

Raven's eyes flashed with anger, her mind still reeled from the news she had just received coupled with what he did to her.

Before he could utter another word or take a step closer, she shut the door in his face.

"Ra…"

"Get lost."

"Raven please."

"I do nto know who that is," she lied again, the first thought that crossed her mind.

"Are we seriously still on that?" Storm called out. "You know you are my mate right? I can feel you, your wolf, ypour scent."

Tori purred within. She was missing her mate badly even though he hurt them. "Tsk, not anymore Tori. Let him go."

As soon as she did, her mark hurt for some reason. She gritted, pressing her hand over the mark.

"You can't deny it. He's ours. Hear him out. Talk to him."

"Tori, no."

"Raven." Storm's voice broke. "Please, Forgive me."

"Did you forget how much of a jerk you were at your office?"

"That…"

"No excuse President Ace. Leave my front door now before I pour hot water on you." Tori rolled her eyes at Raven.

"Seriously? He is a werewolf, an alpha king at that. You cannot hurt him."

"Tori, you're not helping matters. Whose side are you on?" Raven did not need her wolf answering that, she already knew what answer she would give.

"Raven."

"Asteria Gold."

"Raven, please I just two minutes of your time."

'Stubborn Alpha.' Raven noted mentally. After some seconds, she relaxed and opened the door. "You have 30 seconds. Start."

Shock flashed in his eyes but when he stared at her face again, her expression was very serious.

"27 seconds. What are you doing here, President Ace? What do you want from me?" she spat venomously.

Storm's eyes narrowed, his jaw clenched. "I came to make things right, Raven. I know I messed up, but I want to fix it."

Raven's laughter was bitter. "Fix it? You think you can just waltz back into my life and fix everything? You have no idea what you've done, Storm."

Storm's eyes dropped, his shoulders sagging in defeat. "I know I hurt you, Raven. But I'm willing to do whatever it takes to make it right."

Make it right?!

Raven's eyes rolled, her anger boiling over. Since he was there, she didn't hold back anymore. All her pent up rage and pain from the past 6 months came rushing back.

"You have no idea what you're talking about, Storm. You have no idea what you've done."

"I… I'm sorry for the alpha ball and…"

Raven scoffed. "The alpha ball should be the least of your worries, Storm."

"But..." She lifted her palm cutting in.

"First, you come into my room and sleep with me, marked me, then had me posted online and rejected me, publicly calling me a whore. There's no remedying that because in case you haven't noticed, what you did ruined my life!"

Storm's brows knitted. "Rav…"

"30 seconds exhausted." And with that, she slammed the door shut, leaving Storm standing outside without explaining his side of the story.
