Chapter thirty

Alina went straight to Marcus' mansion, and she was surprised when Maggie told her that Marcus was not yet home, as it was almost close to evening.

As she was about to leave, someone called her back. She turned to see Dana climbing down the staircase.

"Alina, what are you doing here? Are you here to see Marcus?" Dana asked.

Alina nodded.

"Hmm, I see. Well, I guess you've learned that he's not home," Dana said.

"Yes," she said sadly.

"What happened? You don't look happy," Dana said, noticing Alina's sad countenance. "Come and sit with me," she said, as she sat on a sofa and gestured for Alina to sit beside her.

Alina obeyed.

"Is this still about you being a werewolf, dear? Because I promise you, it's nothing you should be sad about," Dana said, peering into the young girl's sad eyes.

"No, Mrs. West, it's not about that," she said, shaking her head sadly.
