Chapter fifty five

Marcus drove Alina back to his home and led her through the grand hallway, his hand lightly resting on her back. "Mom should be waiting for you in her room," he said warmly.

Alina's heart pounded as she approached Dana's room. She'd never been inside before, but she imagined it to be something out of a fairy tale. Dana, seeing Alina enter, immediately rushed over, wrapping her in a warm embrace and planting a gentle kiss on her cheek. "Alina, I'm so glad you came," she whispered, taking her by the hand and leading her to sit on the bed.
