Hanya and Yichen was left on the table, while the other people she was with lined up to order. It wasn't a secret that she was chasing after Yichen, so the people she was with gave her some privacy with him.
It was already afternoon, the sun was high up in the sky and since they just came inside Hanya felt hot. She wanted to scoot over to where Fen Yichen was seating contemplating how she would do it. Her eyes landed on the scrunchie she was wearing on her wrist.
She playfully grabbed the tips of his hair. "Let me braid your hair, I want to try doing it with someone who have a short hair."
He reflexively dodge her touch with a frown, "I don't just let anyone touch my hair. Only the person I like could touch it."
"Oh sorry for suddenly want to touch your hair."
It was an instant mood killer. His words sounded like rejection, getting the clues Hanya sat back on her seat. After a while Xie Mingze came back from the bathroom.
"What did you guys talk about?"
Fen Yichen grabbed one hairpin on his bag and handed it over to Xie Mingze.
"It's a bit hot, fix my hair?"
"What could a pin do? You think I have some super powers that could help you fix your hair with a single pin?"
At most he could pin his bangs away from his face, but that's it. He is not some expert hairdresser to manage that. He doesn't even style his hair that much. Grumbling he grabbed the pin and cleared his forehead.
"I'll order first in the counter, looks like Senior Mu would take longer."
Lining up Mingze saw a familiar person on the very front of the line. It was Hao Muyang, just what are the odds of him being there? His wife was nowhere in sight, but he was obviously surveying the available cake on display. He was never one to eat sweets, it was obvious who it would be for.
After ordering and getting the two slice of cake he noticed Xie Mingze. "Mingze, nice to see you."
"What are you doing here? Even buying cake in front of the university."
If he was not mistaken, he clearly remembered that his house was a bit far from the university. Hao Muyang scratched his head while laughing, "My wife wanted to eat the cake from this shop so I'm on an errand. That's right, you also like sweet things right? You can have this other slice, she had been eating too much sweets it wouldn't be good for her."
Xie Mingze received the white box with both of his hands, his eyes looke at the sweet looking cake inside. He did not refuse and did not correct Hao Muyang. About the fact that he infact did not like eating sweets. He got things mixed up, Mingze doesn't know if he should be laughing at the fact that he was not important enough for Hao Muyang to remember his preference.
While he remembered all of his preference, to his fav color, fav food until his fav band.
"If you have the time you could visit our house, you're always welcome."
Turns out he hasn't moved on yet from his crush. Well it hadn't been that long since he got married. If only he was a girl could he had confidently pursued his senior? This is why falling with a straight guy turns into a disaster.
"So this is why you're taking too long to order. Hello Senior, it's been a while."
Fen Yichen saw the box Mingze was holding and pursed his lips in annoyance.
"Why did you buy a cake? You don't even like sweets."
"You don't like them?" It was Hao Muyang's turn to be surprised. He always buy sweet things for Mingze whenever he could and usually Mingze would eat them with relish in front of him. He was like a little brother he would always treat.
"I do eat sweets."
"You eat, but you don't like. Even a child can force himself to eat the vegetable he hates."
"I don't know what you're talking about."
This time he hurriedly turned his back at Yichen and planned to walk back to their table. Unexpectedly he tripped on the flat floor, nobody know how it happened. There is nothing there just air, but Mingze managed to trip on nothing.
His attempt to leave turned into him falling down on the cold hard floor. This is embarrassing, luckily the cake did not break. The stares on him was stinging him.
