Tom was stunned.
"I don't have a BMW, but that's easy. I'll sell my Rolls-Royce and buy a few hundred of them. As for a two-story villa, I really don't have one. I can't exactly demolish my 1,000-square-meter, six-story mansion with an elevator and turn it into a two-story house, can I?"
"Bro, I..."
"Instead of worrying about these things, you should be more concerned about your car outside. Can it smoke?" Lambert asked in a calm tone.
Tom was confused. "Smoke?"
"If it can't smoke, then it might be that your second-hand BMW has some performance issues and caught fire."
Tom immediately bolted outside, looking as ridiculous as possible.
Emma quickly adapted to the situation and came over to cozy up to Lambert. "Oh my, when did you two start dating? How did I not know?"
Lambert's thin lips curled into a faint smile.
Emma, feeling awkward, slunk away.
As soon as Emma left, Trinity asked Lambert, "Where did those car keys come from?"
"I rented them from the key master at the neighborhood gate," Lambert said, his dark eyes meeting hers, revealing a toothy grin. "When you go back, don't forget to pay the rental fee."
Trinity smiled, struggling to contain herself.
Lambert's face lit up with a radiant smile, his magnetic voice lowered teasingly, "You look really good like this."
"And there's even better to come." Trinity bared her teeth and claws, chasing shameless Lambert out of the coffee shop.
With the blind date behind her, another matter began to trouble Trinity. In two days, it would be her birthday, and the crush from her office had volunteered to come over and celebrate with her. His confession was something she had dreamed of, but the problem was that she had a troublesome pest at home.
Sitting on the couch, Trinity fretted anxiously. Looking at Lambert, who had devoured all her snacks, she found him even more of a thorn in her side.
"After eating all my snacks, you still have the nerve?" Lambert said, leaning closer. "Don't you think it's lucky I haven't eaten you?"
"I actually wish you would eat me. Then I'd be rid of this headache."
Lambert smirked devilishly. "Don't be in such a rush."
The day was fast approaching.
"Can I ask you for something?"
"What?" Lambert was surprised. "I can't believe my ears."
"Stop being sarcastic... The day after tomorrow night, my colleague is coming over to celebrate my birthday with me."
"What do you want me to do?" Lambert's eyes sparkled, as if he already had a good idea.
Trinity spoke with an air of insistence, "From now on, you're to play the role of my brother."
"That's easy." Lambert surprisingly didn't oppose Trinity directly, but he smirked, "But do you think he'll believe it?"
Trinity's face darkened, realizing he was subtly calling her unattractive. "You're so self-absorbed it's beyond my comprehension."
"You're so ugly it makes me question life."
"Touché."
"What's in it for me if I help you?"
"You consume my food, my drinks, my resources, without a thought of how to repay me, and now you dare to lay down conditions with me?" Trinity was furious, her voice sharp with indignation.
Lambert emphasized, "You're the one seeking help now."
"I'm not asking for help."
Lambert applauded leisurely. "Impressive, you curse without using foul language."
"I wasn't cursing at anyone." Trinity gave him a disdainful look. "Are you even human?"
Lambert's handsome face darkened slightly.
"I'm not wrong, am I? Despite being called a robot, you're nothing more than a heap of talking junk. If I'm in a good mood, I might tolerate you. But if I'm not, I could dismantle you with a screwdriver and pliers."
"The problem is, you wouldn't dare." Lambert hit Trinity's weak spot with that remark, and seeing her grit her teeth, his handsome face broke into a smile, satisfied with himself. "I'm not asking much of you. After helping you out, you must repay me."
"How would I repay you?"
Lambert's eyes gleamed mischievously.
Trinity shivered, sensing a conspiracy. "Spit it out."
"Recharge me."
Trinity breathed a sigh of relief. She had expected some outrageous demand, but this was surprisingly simple. She promptly agreed, slamming the table, "Alright, deal."
"When the time comes, I'll need to recharge in bed."
"As long as you behave yourself, whether it's on the bed, the sofa, the bathroom, or even outdoors, I'll let you recharge to your heart's content." Trinity thought to herself that even in the outdoors, she could manage with a portable charger or something similar—it wouldn't be a big deal.
Lambert, however, was content, his features filled with satisfaction. "Good, you said it."
"A promise is a promise."
In the blink of an eye, the day arrived.
Trinity slipped into a meticulously chosen strapless dress, applied a beautiful makeup, and sprayed herself several times with perfume in front of the mirror. Satisfied, she picked up her phone.
Her crush had already sent her his location; it was less than two kilometers away from her home. Taking a deep breath, she told herself not to be nervous.
"Wow, I underestimated you before," Lambert crossed his arms, raising an eyebrow with a hint of playfulness in his slender phoenix eyes. Leaning against the doorway, he said something very unserious in a serious tone.
Seeing his eyes flick down to her chest, Trinity immediately covered herself. "Keep staring and I'll gouge your eyes out."
"Ooh, so fierce," Lambert raised his eyebrows, then smirked mischievously. "But what if I can't see when you do? What would I do then?"
"What would you do?" Trinity watched him close his eyes, and inexplicably, her heart skipped a beat. This guy, whether blinking or with eyes closed, was outrageously handsome.
Lost in her thoughts, Trinity was caught off guard when Lambert's hand unexpectedly brushed across her chest.
Trinity paled in shock. "Touch me again and see what happens."
Damn it, she thought, today she would chop off his hand!
Lambert quickly touched again, then repeated his earlier comment in a playful double entendre, "Nice chest!"
"You..." Trinity was at a loss for words.
"Don't forget what day it is today," Lambert smirked wickedly, incredibly bold. In Trinity's eyes, he seemed utterly deserving of a good beating. He raised a finger to his lips, "Shh... Listen, footsteps! He's here!"
Just then, the doorbell rang.
"You just wait!" Trinity's face flushed with anger, like she had applied blush, and after shooting him a glare, she threatened, "If you don't behave today, after he leaves, you'll see me stop feeding you."
Upon hearing this, Lambert's smile widened even more on his handsome face. "Can't wait."
