Trinity ran out of her house to stay with her friend Lucy for a few days. While they were applying face masks, Trinity felt a bit uneasy.
She asked Lucy to check her house every day. "Lucy, when you went to my house yesterday, what was the robot's condition?" Ever since her supervisor reminded her to recharge the robot, Trinity had been feeling anxious.
"Not great." Lucy, careful not to move her mouth too much due to the face mask, mumbled her response.
"What happened?" Trinity quickly stood up.
"I can't talk." Lucy pointed to the mask on her face as a reminder.
Trinity promptly peeled off both of their face masks. "Tell me what happened?"
"He looked like he was almost out of power, lying on the couch, barely moving," Lucy said. "But he still looked pretty handsome."
"Why didn't you tell me sooner?" Trinity complained.
"Hey, you were the one insisting on staying away from that handsome guy yesterday. Even if I told you, you would've been happy about it. Who knew what changed today to make you care about him?" Lucy grumbled back.
"It's not that I care about him. If something goes wrong with him at my place, I'll lose all that money!" Trinity denied any concern for the troublesome robot.
"Do whatever you want; I can't be bothered!" Lucy said, putting her face mask back on.
Hearing Lucy's words, Trinity couldn't sit still. She went to her room, packed her things, and said to the person on the couch, "I'm going home."
"Alright, see you!" Lucy didn't try to stop her and waved goodbye.
At the door, Trinity suddenly had an idea. She stopped and said, "By the way, I could bring the robot to you. Haven't you always wanted a super handsome robot?"
"No thanks! The handsome guy said he has only one master in his life, and that's you. Don't bother, my little place can't handle such a big shot!" Lucy quickly declined. She didn't want a man who was loyal to someone else around, causing her annoyance.
"Can a robot really say something so cheesy?" Trinity was secretly touched by his words.
When she got home, the house was pitch black. She fumbled in the dark to find the switch and turned on the light. The living room was empty, with no sign of the robot.
She walked toward the bedroom and, sure enough, saw a tall figure lying on the bed.
She walked over gently and patted him. "Hey, wake up!"
She called out several times, but there was no response.
"Is it really out of power?" Trinity muttered to herself. "But you haven't explained how to charge yourself yet!"
Trinity regretted not asking beforehand. If he ran out of power, such an amazing thing would be useless!
"Ah, right, doesn't he have a reset button?" Trinity suddenly remembered finding a reset button last time, though it was in an awkward place.
"Whatever, let's just get him breathing again first!" Trinity finally made up her mind after a while.
Even if he woke up, he'd be barely functioning. No way she, a living person, would be scared of him.
With that thought, Trinity's hand reached between Lambert's legs. Finding the right spot, her face turned red, but she closed her eyes and pressed hard.
Before she could pull her hand away, a large hand grabbed her soft hand.
The person lying on the bed slowly opened his eyes. His throat moved, and a slightly hoarse yet magnetic male voice spoke, "What's this, you can't wait to take advantage of me?"
"Take advantage of you, my foot!" Trinity was furious with this shameless talk. She tried hard to pull her hand away, but her wrist turned red from his grip, and she still couldn't free herself. "Hey, let go!"
"I have a name."
"Lambert!"
"Drop the last name, it sounds more intimate."
"..."
Trinity really regretted it. She must have lost her mind to come back and see him. Wasn't this walking into the lion's den? After struggling for a while to break free, she finally gave up and sat down beside him.
"I heard from my bestie that you're running out of battery. How come you're still so strong?" Trinity decided to abandon the aggressive approach, thinking some people might respond better to kindness.
Lambert chuckled, revealing his perfectly aligned, white teeth. He leaned closer to Trinity. "So, you care about me now? I thought you were the type to let things be."
"But I feel like you're deceiving my friend, indirectly deceiving me. Your battery seems quite sufficient to me!" Trinity wondered if Lucy had lost all sense of propriety just because she saw a handsome guy, colluding with him to deceive her.
Lambert didn't rush to explain. He held her with one hand and slowly turned his body to face her directly. "I didn't lie to your friend. She's much more forward than you. If my battery hadn't run out, I'd probably have fallen for her by now!"
Trinity stared at Lambert, who showed no sign of embarrassment or hesitation. Did a man really need to be so straightforward?
She admitted Lucy was an unabashed flirt, but surely not to the point where he described her.
"Don't give me that. I don't know you, and you don't know Lucy either. She's not the kind of casual girl you're making her out to be. Who knows how you might have tempted her?"
Trinity rolled her eyes at Lambert, showing clear disdain. "Come on, how do you recharge? Hurry up, I need to go back!"
"Alright!" Lambert responded, then swiftly flipped over, pinning Trinity beneath him. Something underneath him was clearly eager and pressing against Trinity's body, firm and unyielding.
Trinity was startled by his sudden movement, and she could distinctly feel the hardness against her. When she realized what it was, her cheeks flushed red again.
Instinctively, she used her hands to push against Lambert's chest, feeling the thumping of his "heart" beneath. In her mind, she couldn't help but think: even robots can simulate heartbeats so realistically now.
