171. A God Looking at the ants
He had heard about him being Jounin level after the invasion.
He had heard about him being missing for 3 months and then coming back.
He had expected at least his team to defeat him if not catch up to him personally despite being double his age.
So, why the fuck is Lee in his sixth gate form defeated and lying in a pit.
He had fought Lee in that form and was defeated nearly half of the time.
So, why are they on the losing end?
Neji looked up at the red-headed kid standing on a flying shuriken of all things.
He looked like a god looking at ants from above.
'Is this fate for us to lose here?' Neji wondered while losing his morale with each passing second.
He remembered his battle with Naruto and how underestimating him led to his defeat.
It was a close battle, but it reminded him, that he can't see the fate of others.
(A/n- Naruto vs Neji in this fic was a beatdown, not a close fight xD)
'Right, I haven't given my best yet, it's too early to judge our victory, plus I can't see the end' Neji's byakugan became more prominent as more veins came out near his eyes.
It was an indicator of his irresistible will.
Sora flinched at Neji's gaze, which the latter took as a sign of the other party's being cautious of him and started firing vacuum palms.
'Woah, I knew it while looking at Hanabi, but this solidifies it, byakugan does make people look ugly' Sora started moving his shuriken quickly to dodge the attacks.
Due to the large distance from the ground, He was able to easily dodge the attacks.
Neji stopped sending compressed air shells.
Tenten started sending a variety of projectiles up in the air, such that irrespective of the height and dodging manoeuvre, Sora won't be able to dodge.
Sora weaved hand seals and used a gale palm to deflect most of them while being at the same spot in the air.
However, in the next instance, a lot of projectiles in the air changed their position slightly and rushed at him from a variety of angles.
'Damn, now that is something, I wonder if I knew lightning release, I would have been able to counter her easily, or maybe her knowing lightning release would have made this more deadly' Sora wondered while creating a shadow clone that used gale palm from both of hands while Sora released concentrated water senbon from his mouth to dismantle the Vacuum palm Jutsu Neji was sending his way.
The people on the ground knew that with time passing, it wouldn't be Sora who would be lacking in stamina but them, due to the former having ridiculous reserves.
Sora also knew that, however, he didn't want to fight that kind of boring battle.
After all projectiles were deflected, Sora dispelled all his shadow clones and clapped his hands.
'What the fuck' Neji's eyes widened as he with his byakugan could see a lot of water manifesting from around Sora, which was due to the storage seal.
What was surprising, was the amount of water it was summoned, Visually it wouldn't be visible due to water being compressed as it was summoned, but Neji's kekkei genkai was anything but normal.
Neji even without looking quickly grabbed the hand of Tenten who was nearby.
He had moved earlier near her due to using rotation to shield her from the projectiles that would be falling.
He also noticed that Lee was nearby, a few feet away, indicating that Tenten had planned this.
However, praising Tenten internally was not the thing on his mind, he quickly tried to initiate a flicker, however, despite not looking at Sora's direction, with the help of his byakugan, he could see Sora infusing chakra in the water body.
He knew that it was too late to escape, as he could predict what was going to happen next.
'What the fuckkk' Tenten who was startled by Neji grabbing her hands suddenly was dumbfounded as she found herself yeeted away.
Neji instinctively threw Tenten in one direction with such force that he hurled back towards Lee in the opposite direction.
He looked at the water coming downwards, so instead of grabbing Lee, he simply kicked away with very high force.
Due to the way Neji had kicked him, Neji had his body parallel to the ground, his face looking at the water jutsu coming at him in slow motion.
From the moment Sora clapped his hand, to this moment, not even 3 seconds had passed.
Neji quickly initiated Rotation just as the whole body of water crashed upon him in the form of a waterfall.
The earlier projectiles in the air were just icing on the waterfall.
'IT HURTS' Neji due to his habit of acting prideful, hadn't ever yelled outwardly and kept it to his mind only.
He felt like all the pain he gets from sparring with Lee at his best was given to him in a few seconds.
He felt himself going into the ground, but he didn't stop the rotation.
Why? Because he was scared that he might die.
As Neji went further into the ground, he realized that pain was increasing.
His byakugan could see everything, yet his mind couldn't process it, it was just repeating "pain".
He felt his rotation speed decreasing with each passing second.
'Water Pressure' Neji's eyes widened as he realized the cause of his speed decrease.
As you go deeper in the water, the pressure increases, now the depth Neji had gone to isn't really much, however, water was still coming from the top and with a lot of force.
The mass of water fitting above was increasing exponentially, which not only contributed to the force of water from above but also water pressure from the sides.
Neji tried to infuse more chakra into his arms and part of his body responsible for rotation.
However, he failed to infuse more chakra.
This was one of the limitations of chakra enhancement, it's very difficult to do this, as it's directly dependent on chakra control and how much chakra you have.
Despite having gifted eyes, his chakra control was far from perfect.
So, he was currently at the limit for his Rotation speed, only way to improve it was either to increase his physical prowess, which will naturally come with age, or infuse more chakra into his body for rotation.
There was a third way too...
To create a new technique altogether.
However, despite being the genius to copy the Main clan's Rotation technique with few glances, creating something and copying something is a different thing.
Even, if they weren't he was not currently in his right mind as he could only feel pain currently.
He tried to infuse chakra again.
But he failed again.
He tried again.
He failed.
He tried
Failed
Tried
Failed.
It has been around 10 seconds since Sora had used Water Colliding wave and used it as a waterfall instead.
The water pressure and force now were much higher.
Neji was struggling to keep the same rotation speed as it was taking a high toll on his stamina and mental resources due to the pain.
Neji was almost close to blacking out.
Sora looked at Guy, the latter ready to go down within a few seconds to retrieve Neji if he went unconscious.
It would take not even 2 seconds for Guy to open his sixth gate tear the ground open and rescue Neji
Sora had continued this due to Guy not taking any action, meaning, the latter was confident in his ability to save Neji.
Neji had almost given up, but one last attempt made him try to infuse the chakra and he was finally successful in doing that.
His speed rapidly increased, and the pain on Neji's body started decreasing.
Blood which had gone to the lower part of his body, now started coming back to his head.
Neji's brain started working and he quickly tilted his direction of rotation and created a hole in a nearby wall and burrowed it like a mole with a drill.
This gave Neji a second brief due to the water taking a bit of time to change direction, which was utilized by him pausing his rotation.
"Eight Trigrams Sixth-Four Palms" Neji gasped out while taking out the trapped air in the soil present, and the air which had come with him due to water.
His palms hit the walls in 2 directions, 32 times each, creating a few metres of space for water to go in.
Neji took that time to take in air and continued his rotation as he burrowed in the forward direction with water right behind his trail, splitting up a bit in the holes he had created.
