Real Beginning (3)

"Though, I'm not sure if anyone noticed it, " Reina said with a giggle before returning the gun to the person beside me and returning to her seat.

Everyone was shocked at the unexpected turn of events. However, that is, the best way to expose her.

I did produce a theory that Agatha hid the gem in her own "space dimension."

That is a type of magic, typically related to cosmic and stars, mostly coming from the primary magic, "fire". Through her magic, she could create a "space pocket" in which she could hide things, which could go undetected unnoticed.

However, her mistake lies in her incapability to fully hide her magic. Almost from all angles in the room, it can't be seen by the naked eye. However, if you have the angles right, you will notice something along the lines of "glitches" above her head, signifying that she used pocket-dimensional magic.

I could be wrong, but maybe the reason for Reina coming to the back of the classroom, was to check if it could be seen through another angle, and she was right. A surprise attack, that even she didn't realize, was the way to get, as she wouldn't have time to react and adjust her magic.

Maybe this is why she didn't reveal her magic type because she would get caught. But even so, if she revealed her aptitude, if no one can locate her pockets, and find the gem, she wins. Declining was maybe a bad choice for her.

Now that's all done, I tapped Tsubasa once again on the shoulders.

"Did you notice that slight glitch above Agatha-san's head?" I asked,

"Y-Yes..."

"Then, use your magic. Just place it in that glitch,"

She hesitantly nodded but complied. She held her gem shard in her hand and walked towards Agatha. She held the gem out, above Agatha's head, and soon, a vivid, green light appeared in the middle of the air. Tsubasa whispered something In gibberish, and in the next second, the gem forced its way out of the dimensional pocket.

She promptly walked over to Candi, who was sitting at the teacher's table.

"Talented, thanks Tsubasa-chan."

And that being done, the culprit was found. The sound of success echoed throughout, as each student won the prize point.

...

3RD POV

Many were ecstatic at the first victory, but Agatha wasn't. There was a flaw in her magic that caused her defeat. However, she only looked above with sleepy eyes.

"Игра закончена." (Game Over), she mumbled under her breath in her language as she hugged her teddy bear tightly.

Soon after, Asahi-Sensei came back with a smile on his face.

"Quite easy, wasn't it?" He said,

It was dumb, again, really. If she had been a very good user of her magic, we'd have no way of exposing her.

It has the huge potential to be one-sidedOr maybe, that's what Asahi-Sensei wanted. For it to be one-sided.

Ryo thought,

"Well, it's good that you had some interaction. As promised, I'll give you all the victors 50 points. And as a proof of that,"

He snapped his fingers, and soon, a box, containing many futuristic wristbands appeared on his table.

"I'll be giving you all this. The Point tracker."

He promptly gave each student this device.

Ryo looked at it blankly. It had a white strap and a black screen that could be opened once tapped.

Once opened, it displays a hologram that displays your information. There is also a "screen mode" where in the information would be displayed only on the screen.

Kyosuke-SID:00276. Aptitude: [Source-Fire], Powerpoints: 50

"There, you all have 50 points, as I promised." Asahi said, "That being said, the moral of the story is interaction. After 3 days, your first points-rewarded activity will commence, a combination of both individual and group coordination skills, and today, I would like to discuss that."

He snapped his fingers and in the second, a whiteboard appeared. There, with a black marker, he drew what seemed like a maze of sorts.

"The theme is... Maze escape."

He showed the students his sloppy drawing.

"Seiei Academy believes in an Empiricism approach, and hence, we focus on experience rather than traditional teaching. Experience is a better teacher, and thus, you'll be learning to apply your magic in real-life situations. Magic is a double-bladed weapon, you have efficiency, and the consequences are much worse and much more serious. Back in the earlier days when magic was non-existent, bank robbers used to only use guns. Now that magic exists, you'll find some maniac rushing in with fire and stuff. Hence, it's important to know how to those magic to defend yourself."

Then, he drew another maze of sorts.

"A gist for the first part, the individual text, will consist of a crime situation. I won't spoil much. Then, the second one is a maze, combined with another crime situation. Pass those mazes with flying colors, and you shall receive 100 points. Fail a single maze, and you'll be deducted 50 points. That being said, we need to whip you all in shape."

He smirked.

That being said, all the students changed into their PE uniform attire and went outside, towards a huge gymnasium called "Training gymnasium" with different special rooms, filled with different purposes.

The first training is none other than physical training, a parkour ground, as some may call it.

The first is a game of tag between two people.

In 30 seconds, the "It" must tag the runner, and if that happens, he wins, and this cycle will continue until only a single one remains.

While in training, the usage of magic is prohibited.

The list is as follows.

Kyosuke Ryo - Kazuo Shin

Gushiken Ryuko - Hayashi Silas

Candi Aeneias - Ayane Hina

Akamine Airi - Aoki Reina

Agatha Mijahlovich Zaitseva - Aikawa Yasu

Takahashi Arata - Laura Cezina Castillo

Haruto Sora - Kai Kuromi

Fujimoto Kyouko - Atsumasa Ayumi

Tokita Souta - Harutani Yui

Hanemura Keina - Tsubasa Rin

The list is provided through a randomized spin the wheel. The first on the list is none other than Ryo and Shin.

Through guessing the coin-side game, it was decided that Ryo was It.

Shin was a man, with Dark blue hair, timid maroon eyes, and a pair of glasses.

They faced each other for the last time.

For some reason, Shin was shivering and shaking nervously all around.

"Do you want to be back out?" Ryo calmly asked,

"H-Huh? N-No!" Shin responded in a yell, trying to sound tough.

"You look like you're about to go numb at any minute."

"N-No, I'm not! Y-You're just s-s-scared to lose!"

There's no way this guy could run around.

Ryo thought disappointedly, as he let out a sigh. But still, they need to face off.

Upon Asahi's signal, the game of tag begins!

RYO POV

Kazuo began running away from me, much faster than I was expecting. He jumped through the obstacles, making it hard for me to tag him.

I continued running, and at some point, I was able to close the distance between us.

He jumped above the obstacle, and I swiftly followed, further closing the distance between us

25 seconds.

There, I hastily reached out for him, however, before I could reach him, he jumped out in the opposite direction.

For a nervous guy, he's quite fast.

I promptly followed him, and like a cat chasing a mouse, we ran all around.

The thing that makes it challenging is his flexibility. He could easily jump, or even flip his body over obstacles, making it easy for him to traverse.

Meanwhile, I, who hasn't trained my physical body that much can't jump over things efficiently.

15 seconds.

Half the time has passed, and yet, I'm not making any progress. If I close the distance, he'll find a way to widen it again. His body flexibility is one hell of an annoyance.

If I don't speed up, I can't catch him.

I hastily sped up and went from the opposite direction as him.

The training ground was big, and so were the obstacles. I could limit my presence by hiding behind these obstacles.

Moreover, these obstacles are more of "walls" rather than "bars"

10 seconds.

We were far away from each other, and he stopped, looking all around for me. This is my chance. While staying behind the obstacles, I sneakily went to the side and got closer to him.

7 seconds.

By this time, I closed the distance between us, and while he was looking for me, I crouched down and tagged him from below.

*BUZZ*

"Alright, Kyosuke Ryo, you proceed."

Asahi-Sensei announced. All the colors from Kazuo disappeared, as he lumped his shoulders in disappointment.

If he wasn't a nervous wreck, he would have won.

I promptly stood up and walked towards the crowd.

There, Airi and Hina were clapping.

"That was an amazing impromptu plan." Airi complimented.

"Yeah! From where we are right now, it really seemed like you disappeared from sight!" Hina added,

"It's nothing significant. He's just a nervous wreck." I denied.

I looked back towards Kazuo, and across the room, he was sweating profusely, and seemingly in great distress.

I can't stand this.

"I'll be back," I said, as I turned around, and walked to the side, towards Kazuo.

"What happened to you?" I asked.

He looked up at me like a robot. His expression was distressed and disappointed at the same time.

"T-T-Trying to i-intimidate me?!" He yelled out, again, trying to sound tough.

"Don't try to sound so tough now, I don't want to intimidate you."

He's so annoying,

"T-T-Then, why are you here?! To mock me?!"

"I am not. It's just that you have a flexible body, and you did well earlier. I just wanted to say to take a deep breath, because you're good."

"O-Oh..." The distressed look on his face disappeared and was replaced by an embarrassed, blush.

This guy is easily swayed by words.

"Don't be so nervous next time. It'll hinder your performance."

I said for the last time, before turning around and making my way back towards Ayane and Akamine.

As I made my way towards them, Aoki was approaching from across me with her usual happy-going, yet, sinister smile.

She stopped just a few inches away from me, and I did too.

We looked at each other in the eye.

"Splendid performance. What a comeback," she said,

"What is your deal with me?" I asked, sounding uninterested.

Every time we passed by each other, I could feel her sharp gaze laid on me. Just from her gaze when I encountered her back in the hall when she was surrounded, was enough to bother.

However, she only responded with a slight giggle before completely walking right past Me. I stared at her slowly disappearing figure.

"Something's with that girl." I thought to myself.

"I'm interested in you, is this love?"

"It is not. What is it, that you want from me?"

"I really am just, interested in you." She replied again, this time, sounding very serious. "I look forward to us, as the last dance." She added,

Just then, Asahi-Sensei's voice sounded throughout.

"Next, Gushiken Ryuko and Hayashi Silas!" Asahi-Sensei yelled out.

"Well then, I hope we converge paths again." With those last words, Aoki left and walked right past me.

Whatever it is about her that bothers me, I need to be careful around her. That aside, I returned towards Akamine and Ayane.

"Oooh, I'm nervous, I'm going to be the next in line," Ayane said, in a nervous voice,

"Don't worry, you can do it, Hina!" Akamine comforted.

Ayane, against Aeneias. I haven't seen Ayane's physical abilities, so this could be good.

"And now, begin!" Asahi-Sensei yelled out, accompanied by a buzzing sound, signifying the start of the match.

"Well then, let's see how they'll do."
