Arriving at the shopping district an hour later, Evelyn glanced around but could not see Amelia anywhere

Grabbing her phone she sent a message

Lyn : [Where are you?]

Immediately after, She received a notification

Amy : [At a coffee shop nearby, Wait for me.]

A moment later she saw Amelia rushing over holding a smoothie in one hand and waving at her with the other

"Come on let's go" Amelia approached with a wide smile

They explore the bustling shopping district with Amelia dragging Evelyn to every shop and buying a lot of things. They continued their shopping spree, weaving through a maze of boutiques and department stores

Holding a lot of shopping bags, Evelyn's fatigue started to catch up with her, She threw a frustrated glance at her

Amelia cocked her head to the side pretending to not notice her look.

Suddenly, A dress hugged up in a boutique caught her attention, She excitedly tugged at Evelyn's arm and pointed in the direction

"It's so pretty, Let's buy it" exclaimed Amelia, However, Seeing Evelyn's reluctant expression she added, "Okay fine! Let's grab something to eat"

Inside the cafe, The pastries were already all set on the table. The atmosphere in the cafe was lively and harmonious, the two girls ate in silence.

Suddenly, Amelia looked up and mentioned, "My Sister is going abroad to study" Then with a sigh she added, "Now my parent's attention will all be on me. Ugh, Life is tough you know! "

Evelyn grunted in reply, her mind drifted back to the mention of "parents," and a wave of emotions washed over her.

Evelyn nodded and brushed off the topic, "What in that bag?" She asked, successfully drawing Amelia's attention to the shopping bag

Her eyes beamed as she picked up the shopping bag and excitedly brought the items out, "Look what I bought" Amelia said as she excitedly brought out a Camera

Evelyn rolled her eyes, "You don't need that"

Amelia immediately retorted, "Scram! Of course, I do, I need high-resolution pictures for my fans" She said and then brought out another item, "I also bought this penguin plushie, It's so cute!!!"

Saying that she bought out another item.

"And what do you need that for?" Evelyn questioned, looking at the surveillance camera.

Amelia furrowed her brows, Seemingly agreeing with Evelyn she said, "You're right, here", She then tossed the item to Evelyn. Evelyn immediately caught it and glanced at the small gadget.

"Come on, let go," Evelyn said as she helped Amelia with some of the shopping bags, They footed the bill and stepped out of the cafe.

Upon leaving the cafe, Amelia felt a gaze on her, A wave of unease washed over her, "Why do I feel a strong gaze on us, especially me, it feels so unfriendly" She said to Evelyn as she began to glance around, She saw someone she didn't expect to see, She froze on the spot, She could feel her heart sinking.

Standing tall and proud, Was her formidable Mother, Next to her was a posh-looking woman, Mrs Ze.

"Oh Mom, You here, Me and Evelyn just came to buy some books we needed," She said, Faking good-natured and feigning surprise

But Mrs Chi wasn't buying any of it. She stared at Amelia with a sharp gaze and questioned fiercely "Why are you not at work?"

Amelia gulped, She glanced at Evelyn for help, But Evelyn gave her a look that said "Don't involve me, i told you"

Feeling frustrated, Amelia nervously chuckled, "Ha-ha! I was feeling a little lightheaded and took a day off"

Mrs Chi snorted, She brought out her phone and dialled a number. It was picked up immediately and Amelia's mom put on the speaker.

"Hello Auntie" The deep voice answered

"Good Child, Tell Auntie, did my daughter take a day off today?" Mrs Chi inquired from Zetian.

"Let me check in with my Assistant" He replied

Amelia implored Zetian to not say rubbish on her mind, As she wiped away nonexisting sweat.

A moment later. The voice spoke again, "No Auntie, The Chief Editor said she didn't take any leave"

This brat didn't even spare her, Mrs Ze thought

Mrs Chi acknowledged and earnestly thanked Zetian before hanging up and staring at Amelia with a dark gaze.

"Mom! Mom! Mom am sorry" Amelia begged and she pitifully tried to move Mrs Chi but she didn't even budge

She sat gracefully on the couch with her legs crossed, Sitting beside her was her husband, Chi Xian.

Mrs Chi stood up and smacked Amelia on the head, "Ouch Mom it hurts!"

Mrs Chi snorted, "Humph I wasnt even trying, Your sister is going abroad tomorrow. Your dad is going on a business trip, And I will be going out with Mrs Ze for a while, As for you, You're going to stay at the Ze Families residence and you will earnestly learn from Zetian, Do you hear me? Moreover, She's just still in her rebellious stage, She has the capability but is afraid to take up such a huge responsibility now. Don't rush her okay?" He reassured

"Then when will she ever be ready? You're already old now you know, Mr Chi"

"And I'm still looking as dashing as I was a few years ago," Chi Xian said teasingly before he added, "I think I still have a few years to spare,"

Mrs Chi snorted and rolled her eyes

Chi Xian chuckled, "Come to think of it, Your daughter got all her attitude from you"

"Hey! What sort of Attitude are you talking about" Mrs Chi said, Flaring up

Chi Xian smiled Knowingly, "Come on! Let go and pack up my luggage," He said as he dragged her away
