Not willing to interact

The Nanny and Evelyn walked out of the front door, they walked a short distance away from the Mansion and back.

Nearing the mansion, the nanny watched as Evelyn made her way to the bench, settling on it. "I want to rest"

The nanny nodded, "Okay rest for some minutes then we can head back"

Evelyn shook her head, "No…you head back, I'll be back on my own"

"How could I do that" the nanny anxiously said. Mr Si would not be pleased and moreover, it was a little chilly outside

"I just want to rest" Evelyn weakly added. She needed a quiet place to think.

The Nanny sighed, "Very well". She left Evelyn and reluctantly went back

She entered the mansion and went straight to the living room.

She glanced around but could not find Mr Si anywhere, so she walked up the stairs to the study, took a deep breath and then knocked softly on the door

"Come in" A deep voice called out from inside

The Nanny slowly pushed the door

She stepped into the room, her eyes adjusting to the dim light filtering through the curtains. Sial looked up from his desk, sensing her tension. "What is it, nanny?" he asked, his voice steady and calm.

The nanny swallowed hard, summoning the courage to speak. "Chief," she began tentatively, her hands trembling slightly. "Evelyn went outside to rest on a bench near the house. I tried to convince her to rest indoors, but she insisted on resting outside, I'm sorry I could not carry out my task"

She was hired by the organization much earlier before they brought Sial in. She was quite surprised how the young boy painstakingly climbed to the top and became this now.

Sial's expression remained unreadable, his gaze fixed on her. After a beat of silence, he nodded slowly, contemplating the situation. "Let her rest," he said finally.

The nanny's eyes widened in surprise, "But... but Chief," she protested, her voice quavering slightly. "Won't she catch a cold?"

The master smiled wryly. "She'll be fine," he replied dryly

The Nanny didn't know whether it was because she was tasked to or the latter but she sincerely wanted to take care of the young miss

"Very well" the nanny sighed and slightly bowed

her head.

"Good"

She turned and left the room, she had to prepare the food. She made herself busy in the kitchen, occasionally glancing at the front and the study room.

She had a wild guess, she basically watched the chief grow up and he had not been very much close to the opposite gender.

The Nanny sighed and decided to get the vegetables to wash

As she turned to leave, the sound of the front door opening caught her attention.

Her eyes widened in surprise as she saw Sial exit the house, a coat in his hand. The Nanny couldn't help but smile widely. She could not help but follow behind.

Sial made his way to the bench with long strides. His mind was preoccupied with thoughts. Since she was not willing to interact with him he was not going to push it. He initially wanted to give space, but time ticked by, and she was nowhere to be seen.

He gazed at her as she slept, her expression furrowed slightly in her sleep. She seemed to be having a nightmare. Sial Instinctively pulled her closer.

The nanny crept silently closer, she watched as Sial carefully arranged Evelyn's head against his shoulder. His normally impassive features softened slightly as he draped the coat over her slender frame. He sat motionless on the bench as if lost in thought.

The nanny couldn't believe what she was witnessing. Was this the same aloof and calculating man she had known for so long?

As the nanny observed the chief sitting quietly on the bench, his arm gently supporting Evelyn's head, a wave of shock and bewilderment washed over her. It was utterly unexpected to see him display such tenderness towards anyone.

Sial remained motionless, his gaze fixed on the distant horizon. The nanny could see the subtle change in his expression, the hardness around his eyes softening slightly, his usual stern frown replaced by a hint of concern.

The nanny slowly and quietly retreated from the bench, careful not to disturb the peaceful scene before her. She walked back towards the mansion, still shocked by the unexpected events she had just witnessed.

As she entered the house, Nanny Li,

With a mixture of surprise and curiosity retreated to her quarters.
