The morning sun painted the sky with hues of gold and pink as Sebastian stirred awake, the events of the previous evening still fresh in his mind. He turned to look at Enora, who lay beside him, her features softened by sleep. He couldn’t shake the feeling that something had been bothering her, and he was determined to find out what it was.
Careful not to wake anyone else up, Sebastian disentangled himself from the bundle of limbs on the bed and went to the kitchen to get some breakfast. Maybe an early start would be good for him. Sebastian walked over to the coffee maker and got a big cup of coffee to start with.
It wasn’t much later when Enora walked out of the bedroom and joined him in the kitchen. She was always beautiful to him, but she looked like something was haunting her. Silently, she took the coffee from him, and drank all that was left in the cup. Sebastian chuckled.
“Is everything okay, love?”, he asked her. “You seemed… different last night.”
