My name is Amanise.

Time shifted.

Crazy saw nothing but there was a lurking danger surrounding them.

Everywhere.

Everything felt so wrong.

Dismaying and revolting.

An alarming sense of morbid creepiness.

Space then hauled. What seemed like forever.

Cassian looked up from the ominous black card.

Fear written all over his face.

He was always a scaredy cat but the horror in his eyes increased the suspicion that he knew exactly what happened seven years ago.

Crazy wanted to ask him what was going on. Fortunately her younger self was quick.

"What is going on, Cassian? Am getting scared."

Cassian gripped his small hands on hers barely even covering it. Yet he nodded quietly. His gaze thoughtful.

He held the card. Slipping it in his breast pocket.

Gradually rising up.

"*******, Promise me whatever happens you don't look back."

Though still afraid both Crazy and her younger self rolled their eyes.

"No. I am not going to lie. Momma told me to stop lying and well...I don't want lie to you."

Cassian grinned, scratching his golden locks that kept tumbling down from his view.

"Thought as much. Run like we are playing tag. With everything you got, understand? But you would make it easier for me if you don't look back okay?"

The air around him had changed.

Crazy felt as if the weakness had all dissipated. Leaving only cold resoluteness. Which was very weird for a normal twelve years old boy.

Although, she had a nagging feeling that none of them were normal.

He grabbed her hands running. His grip was tensed and tight. Whatever was coming at them that made him go out of character was probably disturbing.

Remember!

Though, it had happened the past, Crazy's heart was palpitating crazily against her small chest. She wondered whether it was her ten year old body that owned them or was merely conjured from her mind.

There was a banshee shrilly scream that came from the deep forest.

Crazy's felt her eyes widen.

Due to how short Cassian was in compared to her. She easily outran him, leading them both.

Shivers ran her spine spreading out into goosebumps coating her entire skin.

That scream sounded like a terrible beast that came from the deepest of part of hell.

She wanted to turn but her body didn't obey her.

And when she felt her younger self curiosity overcame her. She heard a stern warning that stopped her from turning.

"Don't. Look. Back."

His childish voice was low, stern yet pleading.

They kept running at full speed.

Adrenaline pumping her veins chasing away the tiredness that slowly crept up her limbs.

There were sounds of heavy movement. Small tremors of earthquake rumbled the ground.

The growls were louder now. Very close to them.

Crazy felt fear choke up her throat.

Her head with a mind of its own turned and her wide eyes was unable to erase the memory of the horror behind her.

It looked like a Lycan.

A myth she had fun reading with her mom. But it had a sense of wrongness to it.

It looked diseased. With rotting flesh and blaring red eyes. The only thing that seemed alive on it.

Though the Lycan was rotting that didn't slow down its movement at all. He was sweeping the environment with a hungry paced swiftness.

'How are they gonna outrun it?!'

The monster closed in.

Crazy's head turned to look at Cassian who was looking back too. As if sensing her gaze he tensed turning.

Crazy felt shock paralyze her body stumbling on her steps.

Falling on the floor along with Cassian.

Crazy willed her body to move but her younger self was too shocked...

Too horrified to move.

Gone was Cassian's emerald green eyes. The whites in his eyes were now black sucking in like a black hole. The color of his irises was crimson and his human teeth was razor sharp and a small black bat wing sprouted on the left side of his back. His other hand that wasn't holding her was gone replaced with beastly black claws.

'Cassian.. Why is Cassian looking like this?! Oh my God!'

Uncertainty flashed Cassian's Demonic eyes before he shut it.

His grip loosened.

Standing up from where they fell.

The monster rapidly closing in.

"Run as fast as you can. Don't worry I will deal with this. Survive."

Watching his small shoulders tense. An air of uneasiness and pain written all over him.

Crazy could easily read emotions from people than most. It was like a tangible energy she could grasp. And from the look of the tightness on her chest.

She probably had it as a kid too.

Cassian was about to move in the direction of the incoming monster when Crazy grabbed his hand.

His head forcibly turned to look at her in shock and fascination.

******* gritted her teeth staring at him. Tightening her grip on his wrist. Crying and screaming.

"There is no way am letting you go!!! No matter how you look like!!!"

She dragged him leading the way. Running with renewed vigor.

"Am going to save you. Am going to save us. If you think am ever letting you go Cassian Lincoln. Ever. You are WRONG!!! You are my one and only friend I will never leave you. I love you stupid bigheaded doofus!!"

The word flowed out with easy in her mouth.

Crazy's mouth.

Crazy's eyes widened. Her hand rose to touch her face. Her body obeying.

Am one with my past body?

She could feel the heat burning from Cassian's skin.

Unknown to them an intricate black inked design appeared around Crazy's and Cassian's wrists that made Cassian shudder and stare at her, more deeply this time.

A small smile playing on his lips.

Turning her head she looked at him. His eyes was teary.

The demonic energy along with the darkness fading. His emerald green eyes glowing with unshed tears he bit his lips to hold back a whimper.

Crazy wanted to hug him, wanted to tell him how much she missed him all these years. How much he meant to her. How sorry she was for being weak.

But all of it seemed insignificant as the monster roared.

Time froze.

It was unstoppable. For a moment, being back with him made her forget everything.

He was the past. And she was existing in the present.

But she didn't want to let go.

The monster who had closed in previously from their delay gave a large leap.

Though she was in control now as she wished for since that day to change how things ended. So she would be the one who died and Cassian saved.

Cassian, her supposedly weak bestfriend pushed her away with a force so harsh she flew ten feets away from the spot.

Dismayed, shocked and afraid as she had felt that day.

Crazy's ten year old body zipped farther away from him. Stretching her hands and screaming.

"Noooooo!!!!! Cassian no!!"

Cassian smiled brightly at her. So brightly. In contrast to the darkness he was seconds ago. He became the ray of light leaving her life.

Again.

His wet blonde hair moving in the wind. His emerald green eyes shone as many complicated emotions flashed and disappeared.

But he closed his eyes, smiling like he received salvation.

But she read all of it.

The emotions seemed to draw her in for her to notice. To imprint in her mind.

She saw happiness, fear, loneliness, nostalgia and a drowning...

Sadness.

"I love you too Amanise!! Let's meet in our next life. Please don't forget me."

"Cassian!!!"

Her throat hurt. She was screaming and she couldn't hear herself.

The monster pounced on his fragile body. It's razor sharpened teeth snapping his dainty neck. Blood flowing out like a river.

Amanise.

Amanise.

Amanise.

She finally remembered.

"My name... My name. It's my name! My name is Amanise."

Her lips moved in shock. She thought experiencing it once would reduce the pain.

She was so wrong.

It felt so much worse.

She felt like she was dying.

Watching light fading from his beautiful eyes. Her gut wrenched.

She fell down. Her whole body aching her.

She was sobbing her tears obscuring her vision. She crawled severally trying to stand up like a mad woman.

The monster's fangs dugged deeper. Cassian's head falling from his body that was being tossed around like a broken doll.

Black blood everywhere.

Breathe...

Breathe...

Amanise breathe.

She gasped.

Her vision was darkening.

Before she fell unconscious.

She saw the monster being ripped apart.

By...

Hope bloosomed. Wondering if Cassian was still alive.

But seeing his corpse still there sent her all hope crashing down.

She choked back a heartwrenching sob.

Instead of her bestfriend she saw a weirdly dressed man in tailcoats holding a pocket watch in one hand..

An ominous black card in another.

Darkness wrapped her up in it's cold confines..
