"Do you think she's awake?"
Amanise heard hushed whispers surrounding her.
Slowly becoming aware of her environment.
She felt pain.
Her body ached everywhere.
"I don't think so. Remove the drip."
Someone ordered commanding.
"Are you sure you want to do this, Jamil?"
Jamil?!
Amanise felt fear. Her eye lids were too heavy to open. The pain registering in her body was too much to bear.
She heard the sound of a heavy slap and gasp.
"Who are you to defile my orders?"
Jamil's voice was low and looming in anger.
"No one..."
" Wonderful I thought you forgot for a second. Now kill that crazy bitch before I kill you!"
Amanise forced her eyes opened. Her vision blurry but enough to catch Jessica's hands on a drip attached to her body.
Jessica froze looking shocked. Staring at her before moving back in fear. The other girl tagging them as usual stared at her too, behind Jamil in utter hatred.
While Jamil wrapped up in neat bandages on her neck and shoulders with her right arm. Eyes though looking tired stared at her with intense rage on seeing her awake before an ugly smirk formed on her lips.
"Beautiful.. You are awake. That alone makes it much fun on what am about to do to you."
Amanise tried to move but her body was too weak and there was a small handcuff that chained her right wrist to the shallow bed.
"Stop it Jamil."
Her words came out hoarse and tired.
"Well seems like screaming all through out last night did a lovely trashing to your throat. It makes it much easier. Harder for you to scream."
Amanise's eyes twitched in confusion.
Screaming last night? Why am I even on this bed? Why is my body aching?
She paused.
Memories flooding in.
Jamil and her lackeys...
Iron bucket...
Self defense...
Sir Berth...?!
Nightmare... Monsters...
Cassian...
Tears sprang up her eyes. She broke down in front of them.
Stunning the bullies.
In all their years they had known Crazy. Bullied her even. She had never cried not even once.
Fought... Yes.
Cursed... Yes.
Silent... Yes.
But cried? Never.
Seeing her sobbing badly they were confused on what to do.
Continue? Or walk away and come back later?
"Enough with your tears you crazy bastard!!!"
Fighting with guilt and anger. Jamil uncuffed her. Dragging Amanise hard on the floor.
The two other girls watched in horror.
"Jamil what are you doing?! Jamil stop she might die!!"
Selma, the other girl held Jamil's wrist . Her face filled with worry. But in seeing the madness in Jamil's eyes stopped her movement.
Amanise trying to recover from the pain she received from the fall. Tried to struggle from Jamil's grip which suddenly became more stronger.
Her vision was getting blurry. Pain shot up her arm from where the drip was placed.
Jamil was dragging her helpless body to the window.
"Help. Stop her please."
Amanise muttered feeling so weak.
Jamil tried lifting her up.
The girls gasped suddenly understanding what Jamil wanted to do.
"Selma! Jessica! Help me throw this bitch out the window now!"
The girls hesitated infuriating Jamil more.
"Do you want your life more miserable than hers?!"
They shook their heads surprised at the threat. With slow paced steps they grabbed Amanise who looked at them with heavy lidded eyes.
"Stop this please Jamil..."
Jamil slapped Jessica so hard that she landed on the floor.
"If you ever talk back at me. You will die first. Now lift her up before I push you out too!"
They helped her carrying Amanise on the window high up a three storey building.
Amanise scratched and kicked but it was useless.
She was too weak.
"If you do this!!! You will not go scot free!!"
Amanise tried reasoning with them.
With Jamil.
Does she hate her so much enough to kill her?!
"Hahahaha. Are you fucking stupid of course I will! My father owns this place if you died a story can easily be faked for you to the Cops. After all no one in this world cares about a psycho."
Hearing the explanation from Jamil reduced the burden from Selma and Jessica.
Readying themselves to push her. Holding her so tightly to avoid her making an unpredictable movement.
After all she was Crazy for a reason.
"Any final words before you fall down to your death?"
Jamil licked her parched lips eagerly. The bandages made her look like a Egyptian mummy villianess.
If anything was like the stories and web novels she reads as an MC only three things could happen to her.
One, she was saved by an unexpected plot armor from the author to avoid readers gobbling them up with hate comments and threats.
Well she wasn't loved. So that wasn't even option. Considering she could never be an MC.
This was reality.
" I wish I could see him and mom again. And this time around never let go."
She said smiling. Tears pouring from her eyes.
Jamil stopped smiling for a moment wondering what the hell she was saying. The girls beside her not much worse.
"And well... Watch you all die a horrible death."
She opened her lusterless eyes staring dead into Jamil's own.
What Jamil saw that made her gasp and push her suddenly out the window put off Amanise for a minute.
Before falling straight to her death.
She closed her eyes.
Memories of everything she ever forgotten flashing in her mind.
She gritted her teeth. Her jaw clenching tightly.
She didn't want to die.
Despair filled her weak body.
Harsh wind cutting through her clothes as she fell.
Goosebumps rising on her skin.
But what or who would she live for?
Nothing...
No one...
Yet she still felt the impulse to cling to life itself.
"Cassian... Mom am so sorry."
A tear went up falling after her.
Two, the second option is that she dies as a tragic chapter for a better MC to shine.
Amanise didn't know how she landed on the paved ground but she felt a harrowing discomfort.
She felt her skull and spine crushed along with her whole body. Blood spurting from her mouth as she choked up on her blood. Her clothes were soaked in her blood as she felt..
Miserable.
Only for a minute or two.
The unbearable pain was dissolving slowly.
She felt her soul leaving her body.
In between life and death.
Amanise closed her eyes disappointed forcing herself to embrace acceptance.
So the second option it is.
Before she could finally let go.
A black formless shadow multiplied on the ground making high warbled noises that was incomprehensible.
It then rose moving like jelly. Millions of eyes opened at once on it.
Amanise staring from her becoming corpse felt her heart sink in fear.
Unable to move.
The formless shadow on noticing her there with its million eyes moving coordinatedly at once.
A jagged teeth tore open from the shadow staring at her with a ravenous hunger.
Almost as if it stumbled on the most delicious snack it has ever known in its life and couldn't believe it.
Swiftly gliding to devour her.
Amanise choked up on her blood as she tried to scream.
When it was so close enough to pounce and eat her.
A bright light swiped at it.
Shocked, unable to believe this was real and not another conjured fucked up nightmare from the monster haunting her.
Before she could call out the monster to tell it to stop. And allow herself to truly wake up...
She saw Her.
A goddess with ethereal beauty donning a dark silky royal blue gown embedded with neon jewels shimmering in sliver light that resembled real stars. A matching hood that graciously highlighted her crown.
Her face hidden under a faceless white mask possessing arrow like eyes. An intricately designed cross necklace on her dainty neck. Possessing a reddish black book depicting thorns wrapped in a half bitten apple.
In her other hand holding a dangerous black swan-headed large scythe.
She was a definition of deadly outwardly beauty and her aura was chillingly suffocating.
The black shadow splitted in two recoiling. Watching her seemingly calculating whether to attack or retreat.
The goddess redrew her scythe coolly watching the black shadow.
Amanise stared at her in wonder and fascination.
Something deep in her that seemed asleep forever stirred.
It was so subtle yet life-changing.
The goddess won the staring contest with overwhelming victory.
The black formless shadow fell down to the paved floor dissolving into nothingness.
The goddess then turned to her.
Amanise felt a sense of kinship..
A connection between them as She stared down at her.
The goddess stretched out another hand to Amanise. Drawing her attention to the other two under her seemingly human hands.
Amanise raised her hand gingerly before grabbing it. She felt like she was touching clouds.
Warmth touched her soul as she felt complete.
The goddess bottomless arrow like eyes lingered on her bit before bringing out a red apple with her fourth hand that was once hidden in her magnificent hood.
"A deal for your soul, Amanise."
Her voice held a sinster yet warm quality. It sounded like many waters echoing to the depth of her heartstrings.
Coercing and pulling at them.
"A deal? For my soul?"
There were sirens wailing in the vicinity.
Drowning her voice but the goddess looked like she heard everything.
"Yes. Do you agree? "
"But you haven't explained anything to me."
Though she felt at peace with the goddess doesn't mean she had blindly trust her. What if she was manipulating these emotions from her?
"No time. Do you agree to take up my task for you in exchange for another life?"
Third option?
Her heart was thrumming against her chest. Or the heart she conjured up in her mind. Cause her corpse was just beside her
"Here in this world?"
The goddess gracefully shook her head. The strange moonlight that casted on her features made her more breathtaking and unreal.
"In a world that holds the answers you seek. But it would be very hard to survive."
Answers she seeks?
Cassian?!!! The Lycan?!! The weird man dressed like one in the medieval era?!!
The goddess nodded affirming her thoughts.
Amanise looked at the red apple on her hand.
She felt tempted and in Snow White's shoes trusting this weird being.
For once understanding what it feels like to be so gullible.
A character she so much despised.
But she protected her unlike the evil witch in the story.
But they were still holding the same shiny red apple
Third option?
Transmigrating to another world with her memories intact enough to answer all her questions?
The memory of Cassian flashed her eyes.
Filling her with longing.
She bit into the bloody apple.
Staring at 'Her' with determination. Her fists clenched tight shut.
The goddess nodded at her.
Respecting her decision. Before suddenly plunging her now beastly claws in Amanise's chest.
Shocked feeling strangely betrayed.
Amanise felt her soul burn alive.
"You seem to already have the Void in you. It only makes it harder. Find a way to ********** before it is destroyed."
Amanise tried to scream out the pain but her lips felt sewn shut.
Sounds of humans coming in with shouts and orders and sound of Jamil crying was approaching.
The last thing Amanise saw was the monster that whispered nightmares to her every night.
Smiling maniacally at her.
" Your nightmare begins."
Was she really betrayed?!
Did the goddess join hands with him to torture her?!
"Do you wanna build a snowman?"
